Triple Fortune posted this, says it's one-of-a-kind wedding dress. Guess it won't be commercially available. I wonder if they'll show us the end product.

That's about all the news I got.

Whaat. How bad was it? Is it that it didn't have enough poof on its own?

I was trying to find someone to split the set with me so I could get just the burando petticoat. Hope the dress was at least all right quality?

Why would you expect a luckypack petticoat to be quality when their petticoats normally go for the price of a lucky pack like the one it came in?

Does anyone know what colors the Khronos Utopia special set got released in besides lav/teal/grey? Or is that it?
>>
>>9750082

I did want it because it was cheaper. Their previous LP petticoats were said to be almost indistinguishable from their regular-priced petticoats, but then again those were the ones that came with the more expensive lucky packs so I guess you do have a point.

I'm still interested in seeing reviews of how bad it is though.

>>

>>9750231

IW is doing some kind of salon party. It mostly sounds like a scaled down burando tea for five, really, but if I read this right they'll be showing new S/S releases that you can reserve on the spot (5% discount, but really I just like seeing the designs ahead of when they announce it on the blog).

I wish it was so easy to hop on a plane and be in Osaka next week, this sounds like fun.

The Moi-Meme-Moitie x Hatsune Miku dresses is indeed just a cosplay of her outfit. A quite expensive cosplay, it’s 71,000¥ for the dress + headdress. I personally don’t think it’s suitable for Lolita at all. It screams cosplay all over. I wonder if there are Lolita’s who are going to buy it.
>>

Miku fans? She's extremely popular. Moitie didn't even design the dress so I don't know why people expected it to be lolita instead of cosplay
>>
>>9750450
They still see it as Gothic Lolita Fashion.
But I guess this is what you get when an anime illustrator designs the oufit. It would have been so much better if moitie designed the outfit and then released that outfit. It would have been more Lolita.
>>
>>9750478

Anyone getting stuff from the Metamorphose sale?

One thing that annoyed me was the sales page doesn't show all the items that are on sale/discounted. I found a bolero at half off that wasn't listed on the sales page, so I'd suggest gulls check all the categories rather than sticking to the sales category to see what's on sale.

I think it's a combination of them wanting some quick cash off Miku fans, and them trying to drum up a larger fanbase with a three way collab.

I tag mine with eglfashion, and the brand names.

Sort of off topic but I'm wondering is Tumblr on the decline?
I just logged in for the first time in 2 years (to delete my account) and noticed most of the lolita/Jfash accounts I had been following also hadn't updated in a year or longer. It seems like a lot of people have moved on to IG but I don't know if it's across the board or just fashion related/personal accounts.

I love you Mana, but not that much. That dress isn't even cute or elegant, it looks horrible. What a pity, I was looking forward to trying to get this
>>
>>9750861
Even when you turn that shit off you only get the best stuff first showing on your dash on mobile. I logged into my Lolita side of Tumblr the other day and saw the same post at the top of my dash every time I refreshed it. Also saw that the lolitas I was following are mostly on this feminist sjw kick so I just unfollowed them and found people actually posting about the damned fashion. People shift interests. So got to purge the ones no longer in your isntrests and find the new ones.

>>
>>9751368
I have nearly 800 and I get roughly 10 a day give or take. The thing about those blogs is they end up removed by the site within a week or two for the most part. Some linger longer but not often. Tumblr is trying to crack down on the bots from the genuine porn love blogs.

There often just isn't enough fabric in the bust section of highwaist dresses for them to sit in the right spot, even though the circumference is big enough, sometimes even quite loose. The skirt often starts across my boob or otherwise higher than it's supposed to.

I'm an F cup. Anything high waist tends to fall halfway on my tits and makes me look like a bloated landwhale. Hence my distaste for them. Regular waist stuff doesn't tend to have this problem.
>>
>>9751647
They won’t. Couture pieces are supposed to show off the designer’s skill, not necessarily to look good (personally, I like the bottom two. It’s the bunny dress I can’t stand!).
>>
>>9751656
The people I know who like the high waist cuts tend to be apple shaped with relatively small busts and large waists, so they go for cuts that are essentially free waist. The waist of the dress doesn’t hit them right either since they’re just big overall but they’re still less constrained than in a regular waist cut so they feel like it “fits” a lot better. Funnily enough they always act like their boobs are the problem.

儚い夢の中 means "inside a fleeting dream" (hakanai yume no naka ....is that easier to pronounce?)
バスケット is basket, so that's Sweet Basket Dress.

thx but I don't need to grow up. I'm into lolita for more than 10 years and have observed a lot of changes in direction the fashion took over the years. I never really bothered much since I thought this would be redeemable, but this is something really worrying imo. The asspatting of the Chinese lolitas is really something that completely changes the dynamics in lolita and their tastes turn it into something unrecognizable. And yeah, of course I'm a little mad I can get my hand on MM anymore, it has not solely to do with the Chinese but with the fact the brands are exclusively pandering towards them and forgetting their loyal customers that were buying from them since before Lolita was even big in China.
>>
>>9752620
>For years I voted on Rose Basket
And? If it got tons of votes from many people, it would have been rereleased in more than just this event. Brands are going to cater to their largest market, duh. If Chinese lolitas are the ones showing the most interest and buying the most, obviously they will accommodate.
>turn it into something unrecognizable
Your whole post is being mad that chinese lolitas are getting to preorder dresses that they are rereleasing? I don't get your argument. If they are literally rereleasing dresses they've already made, how are chinese lolitas changing and ruining everything to make it unrecognizable?

The thing is, VM's sunsetting is the other side of the coin. We're not seeing an in-between state for any of the brands where they're still doing things that the non-Chinese international market likes while also catering to the Chinese market. It's become increasingly difficult to tell if they're even catering properly to their own Japanese market at this point because the indie brands are completely veering off in a different direction when you compare it to what AP/BtSSB have been releasing for the last few years.

And remember, this is business. Loyalty doesn't pay the bills or keep the lights on. At the moment, Chinese money does, so they're gonna follow where the cashflow is coming from. And if you really, really think about it, the international market's been feeding the monster in its own way by eating up all the shit that taobao produces so naturally the Japanese brands are going to follow suit because that's what they think is desired as well.
>>
>>9752705
>It's become increasingly difficult to tell if they're even catering properly to their own Japanese market
How could you tell before? How do you know what Chinese and Japanese lolitas are wearing when they're not going to a brand tea-party? How do you know what Japanese brand designers are looking at and what inspires them?
>>
>>9752702
Do they? The most I've seen from China are pics from extravagant meetups but I guess I'm not looking in the right places.
Either way, I wish daily lolita was more visible in the western comms. Not to say that no one in the west wears it daily, people obviously do (myself included), it's just not obvious because a lot of it isn't posted online so there's a feeling that if it isn't online for the world to see, it supposedly doesn't exist. Makes me sad, honestly.
>>
>>9752546
Honestly, it's the Western market mainly to blame for brands not catering to us. How many of us are actually order dresses new when there's not a sale or something? My local comm is huge, and nobody ever suggests buying directly from brand. Everyone only purchases as cheap as they can from secondhand websites. One girl claims to be "BTSSB SO LOYAL!" but she's never even purchased a dress new directly from them. Many girls even directly say they love a rerelease, but are going to wait for it to show up cheap secondhand. Chinese lolitas (previous Japanese lolitas) are the main ones buying directly from the brands. People keep complaining about Chinese lolitas "ruining" brands, but a lot of these brands would be suffering if it weren't for them. I can imagine they also complain a lot less about "muhhh can't fitttt change your sizes!"
>>
>>9752707
I fully admit that all of the following are assumptions on my part based on personal observations, and as with all statements on this board you should take it with a grain of salt. If you wanna tell me I'm full of shit that's also your choice to do so.

>How could you tell before?
The secondhand market used to have a much higher price range and it's been steadily dropping for a good number of years, and there's more and more secondhand available than ever before that's not moving as quickly as before - to me that indicates decreased interest/oversaturation of the market. And the fact that the hardcore Japanese customers only brands seem to be the ones eating shit at the moment.

>not going to a brand tea-party
Using IG tags, watching what's appearing on the secondhand market in the secondhand stores, street snaps, occasional blogs when reverse image searching various items, twitter, watching the shift on mercari/fril getting more taobao items than before, watching the shift on jahoo getting more taobao items than before. You could say that it might be Chinese lolitas in Japan doing a bunch of the selling, but the fact remains that it's now in a system where it wasn't before and is becoming embraced (CC carries ToAlice, ToAlice has a physical store location in Harajuku) more so than before. Regarding the tags, it's interesting that the romanized versions of the brand tags have more posts under them than the kanji.
>>
>>9752707
cont.

>Japanese designers
Obviously I'm not a mind reader, so I can only go by what sort of releases have been coming from the brands themselves. I know it's a tired meme to call something taobao-like but there is a noticeable difference between design choices from even 2014 when you compare it to what's available now. Part of that is going to be a natural evolution of fashion, and part of it is going to be influence because we know for a fact that the Japanese brands have been running events in China, and some of these events also involve the Chinese brands being there with them on site. It's impossible for them to not have some sort of exposure and influence from this alone, nevermind seeing what the Chinese lolitas are wearing and buying at such events.

Get it if you'll use it anon. If you can easily wear it, it's not a terrible choice. But don't expect good quality. Personally I like nice quality items since they are easier to take care of and last longer, but it's up to you. Secondhand is always better than buying something you know is poor quality brand new. Just make sure it's a reasonable price.
>>
>>9752523
bahaha at the crosses on unicorn mermaid. I missed AP's random crosses

>>9752721
actually, if you think about it, the secondhand market is good for brand. there's a lot of security in knowing that you can sell anything you no longer want and get a pretty good return on it, which spurs those buying new to continue buying new.
on another note: I'm a big bitch so a lot of stuff I like and can also wear are from yesteryear, but I'm not gonna lie and say that I would not hesitate to buy new if there was something I wanted on reservation or was newly released. buying used has definitely spoiled me, and I have bookmark folders and excel sheets filled with things I eye on the regular but can't get myself to purchase because of the nwt price. it's the psychology of wanting to get more items for a certain total.
I still spend a ton, but the big haul usually wins over the small haul of brand new.
>>
>>9752957
>the secondhand market is good for brand
not that anon, but i kindly disagree. yes, essentially being able to resell items would be good. however, in the current market where things can easily be bought for less than half of the original price, i don't think people are purchasing brand directly with the thought of reselling secondhand in their minds. i think that best applies to people buying a cheap dress secondhand that they may or may not like, and know they can get most of, if not all, their money back.
>it's the psychology of wanting to get more items for a certain total
agree for sure. i think anon was just pointing out that most westerners think this way, and that's why we're not top priority. chinese lolitas seem to be the biggest market purchasing brand directly from the source. if the majority of western lolitas purchased directly from brand, i'd bet brands would start catering more towards us too.
>>
>>9752971
>i don't think people are purchasing brand directly with the thought of reselling secondhand in their minds
This. I buy directly from brands all the time and this never enters my mind at all. I buy to keep and wear. I only sell when it's years later and I realize I don't wear it enough or my style changes and I don't like it as much anymore.

It actually saddens me when some of my friends who own a lot of brand say they've never bought from brand before. Some even get new releases, but still buy from an SS. I get it, you want to be sure, but you're missing out on the discount points and all the extras they include. Not to mention the smaller brands will ship directly to you without a forwarding service anyway.
>>
>>9752974
Using a SS still supports the brand, though. You using the SS means the brand indirectly gets your money. I try to buy direct as much as possible, too, but I don't really have an issue with using a shopping service for things such as popular releases or in-store only special sets.
>>
>>9752974
>Some even get new releases, but still buy from an SS.

some people use an SS for combined shipping. especially since some countries hate their citizens and try to deter their shopping via customs.
>>
>>9752978
>>9752980
I understand why people do it. I'm saying I think they are missing out on part of the experience. These are the people who have never bought directly from brand before, which means they only buy items they think will sell out quickly brand new.
Again it saddens me because it means they are getting all their other pieces secondhand or taobao. A lot of nice pieces you're just not going to find secondhand because they are useful and those who buy them hold onto them. It's the versatile pieces that people tend to ignore, but really make a cohesive wardrobe.

>Measuring by cup size alone

Anons, your cup size is only the difference in measurement between your underbust and overbust. It means nothing without your underbust measurement to go with it.

A 30D is in a whole different ballpark than a 38D. That's a 34" bust measurement versus a 42" bust measurement. A 28G is only a 35" bust, a comfortable fit into most brand, while a 40C comes out to a brand-busting 43".

Please educate yourselves about proper bra sizing and wear well-fitted garments, anons. I care about your comfort and support.
>>
>>9753078
It makes sense if trying to consolidate with auctions, but I've never found it economical for shipping that way. It gets too heavy and shipping prices are ridiculous combined with added SS fee, but I never really buy just a couple items.

I'm not sure why people are so offended about it. I don't care, I just think people should know how to buy direct from brand and not brag about having never done so.
Smaller brands include nice extras (like branded clear files, postcards, shopping bags), have excellent customer service (sent the wrong item and let me keep it) and larger brands include the special event items and sometimes include a shopping bag with the sticker they use to close the bag. And like I said, you build up discount points. I've bought things for "free" before.
>>
>>9753089
>28G
Where do you even find these? I want to try out buying the "proper" measurement for my bust vs underbust, but can't find these sizes anywhere in store. When looking online, it's all shops for people with super large breasts or the stock photo shows huge titties and I have small boobs so it feels stupid to order from a website dedicated to women who can't fit normal bras??
>>
>>9753070

nayrt but look for a specialty bra shop in your area, or check an online store like Figleaves.
Nordstrom also tends to carry a good range of bra sizes. If you have a really small band and large cup, they might have to special order, but they can usually get any size. Personally I swear by Freya brand for small band and large cup, but ymmv depending on your height, size, breast shape, etc. Make sure to get a good professional fitting.
>>
>>9753099
Just go to stores that either specialize in bras or higher end retail stores like Dillards/Nordstrom (I'm assuming you're in the US). I wear 30DDD and pretty much have to buy from these stores as average retailers don't carry my size. Doesn't mean you have to be broke doing so, while the bras are more expensive than average if you're smart with shopping clearance and sales you can get them cheap. The past New Years sale at Dillards I got three Natori bras for $10 each, was nice.

I'd get measured in one of these stores too. I got measured in a Victoria's Secret and they told me I was a 32DD, probably because that's the smallest waist + biggest cup they carried, and those bras always were too small in cup and I had to clasp them at the last hooks. Dillards sized me properly.

I can sense the delicious chinese mainlander money coming Baby's way.

>and mine
>>
>>9753099
I can only ever find them on Amazon by searching for the bra size, and sometimes on Journelle. Panache and Freya are probably the best brands.

>>9753103
Victoria's Secret is shit. I'm sorry you had the misfortune of being "measured" there.

Already trying, but it doesn't stop high waist brand dresses falling weirdly on me. To be fair I think I have a long torso too so that doesn't really help matters.

Poor Rinrin, that makeup just doesn't work for her face..
>>
>>9752971
I buy directly from brands often. Like if I want something coming out, I buy it directly from the brand without the intent to resell it. I don’t buy clothes going “ yes I’ll turn around and resell this later” I fully intend to keep it. Then down the road if i find myself not wearing it or not liking it any more, I sell it. It’s the way people with normie clothes do it. When you grow tired of the clothes you give it to someone who can use it. Some clothes never grow old for you so you don’t sell it. When you bought it you didn’t intend to lose intrest in the item so the price was something you where willing to lose. Not regain later.

The wig and makeup doesn't work for a lot of the models faces t b h.

Secrets are two days late now. I wonder if they even got any.
>>
>>9753340
They got secrets. I sent in one and a few others have two according to Last weeks questions section where people are commenting about it.
>>
>>9753353
I agree with whoever said mods at least need to make a post about ones being rejected. It's really bizarre for them to say they didn't get any when multiple sent them in. At least post an explanation for why they were rejected.
>>
Idk if that’s the right place to ask, but I ordered a lucky pack from AP on their release date (28th or 29th December I think) and they still have not charged my credit card.
I used the credit card I always used (the details were still saved) and it was also shipped and I did not get any other e-mails from AP.
I‘m a little worried now, they never take any more than 10 days to chargw my card and I buy from them quite frequently so I doubt my credit card declined rhe charge. Did anyone have the same problem???
>>
>>9753354
C.Y.A anon. Cover your ass. The mods do it all the time . It’s no doubt that it’s a lie to cover up their own forgetfulness. Instead of just saying “ sorry guys, we can’t post secrets this week” they rather say no secrets where submitted and dig themselves into a hole and not say shit about it. I mean last week there was a secret about behind the bows dying. Maybe they where being funny and actually acting like it’s dead.
>>
>>9750494
How long does shipping usually take when you order from meta? I've only ever ordered from AP and BTSSB USA
>>
>>9753160
So you're about 36" at the overbust? That's not landwhale size at all, but it's the upper end of what tends to look good in a lot of brand empire cuts. Your long torso will affect the fit of the dress too, yes. It's probably best you stick to normal waist cuts.
>>
>>9753455
About a week - its typical EMS. A day or two to pack up, then 2-5 days to arrive in my experience.
>>
Does anyone own AP's Angelic Bat cutsew OP? Lolibrary lists both Waist and chest as 88cm,but how stretchy is the fabric?
>>
>>9753357
no, every once in a while a mod will forget it's their turn to post. it's a revolving responsibility from what I understand. this happened about a year ago too. one mod just totally forgot it was her week. wonder if it's the same person
>>
>>9753463
I have the cutsew itself not the op, and it’s a tiny bit sretchy but not as much as a normal shirt.
>>

I did too. The transaction came as pending and then suddenly dissappeared. It also happened with another AP transaction I made on the 25th.

Tbh I didn't know people still looked at btb. And they say lj is dead.

>>9753463
The top is tshirt material and decently stretchy but the waist has no stretch to it, so you will probably have to be under 100cm in the bust to even get it on

The white model looks great desu. Asian models not so much. Makes sense tho considering it's based of off historical euro makeup (not saying it's historically accurate)

Talking about sports bras...where to get nude ones? I can only find them in black, white and neons. I'm in Europe

which one is white? All of them in the giant wigs and makeup look like ass though, and the rest of the makeup is just normal japanese kawaii makeup.

I thought that too but it doesn't have the back. Mixing a fabric into the design like velvet would have helped. It's intricate but looks cheap without any embellishments like hanging beads, or another texture.

You can't be half a nationality. What is American?
You can be from the usa and be 100% asian ethnically.
>>
>>9753791
It means one of the parents is american and one of the parents is japanese, not that they have a double nationality (though they may have if they are young enough). Tina is half white.
>>
>>9753303
You've gotten personalized invoices and cards signed by the designer too? I doubt it. Those would be made out for your ss.
>>
>>9753814
I have, and I give 0 fucks about them since I can't read Japanese anyway. I like the pictures though.
>>
>>9753811
Nationality is not interchangeable with race or ethnicity. It doesn't add anything to the discussion to learn the citizenship of a model's parents. That's why other anon's reply was like 80% useless
>>
>>9753229
There's just something that feels "off" about her designs to me, honestly. I really wanted to like the catacomb saints inspired stuff but it didn't really do it for me.

>>9753696
Ugh yes. Even not-so-popular dresses that are listed for like $200 and missing something like the bow or waist ties.
>>
>>9753819
So how would you know they are personalized if you can't read Japanese? Come on anon. I'm referring to from the brand, not your ss.

My birthday is coming up, and I really need a lolita coat. I was between two different styles- one from Baby and another from Bodyline. I asked my mom which she thought was the better option for her to buy me as a gift. I showed her a picture of both of them. She said she rather get me the Baby one; she said it looked nicer/better quality.

I was so proud of my mother.
>>
>>9753906
Nayrt but do many brands do that often? I've bought new from brand several times in person and online and through SS online and that's never happened to me. I have gotten notes and extras from some fril sellers through my SS though.
>>
>>9753943
At least within Japan, Innocent World sends handwritten letters with direct orders. I was really impressed.
>>
>>9753937
>I was so proud of my mother.
That's great and all, but whether or not someone is into lolita, most people with eyes and an ounce of fashion sense could tell Baby is miles ahead of Bodyline.
>>
>>9753952
You realise those are printed and they only write your name on right? Baby sometimes does it for their online orders, but it seems to be pretty random when
>>
>>9750214
Also my impossible dream dress... It was an exclusive for people who went to the winter 2016 teaparty

>>9754045

>>
>>9754045
That and to be fair, it's one of their most desired prints. I won't be suprised if it gets another reprint at some point (again), probably as an exclusive
>>
>>9753495
>>9753356

This comes up a lot. AP does their CC transactions in one go some weird times of the month/week. The money isn't really on your credit card anyway, there is a "hold" on the funds, you'll find you can't really max out your credit card if you tried (but don't though). The actual transaction just hasn't been fully completed is all.
>>
>>9753791
Are you really this dumb?

>>9754045
It was first available to those who attended either of two small gallery events (these orders received an Imai Kira A4 print), then general pre-order open to everyone for about a week
>>
>>9752974
Honestly the only reason I buy directly from brand is because I'm in the Cali bay area and I get my items the next day practically.
I feel like loyalty to brand has a lot to do with having a good experience shopping there. When I started out I went to the AP store in San Fran and the girls there helped me a lot and I've been loyal to them and BTSSB too.
>>
>>9753089
I just decided to stop wearing a bra. I'm sorry Anon. I'ma get droopy tits cuz I never learned how to bra.
>>
>>9754188
>I feel like loyalty to brand has a lot to do with having a good experience shopping there.
This sounds like it's the case. I guess I've never had a poor experience shopping online for it, and honestly the smaller Japanese brands are over the top nice that I can't help but what to shop there. Baby has been great as well. AP USA is always terrible, so I continue buying from AP Japan unless I miss a release I like. Buying in-store is also best experience especially in the non Tokyo shops. I've only had poor experiences with specific branches of AP in Tokyo.
>>
Does anyone else find it irritating when girls clamor over your dresses at meets and ask if you plan to sell something (and if so, they want first dibs) while you are wearing it?

>You do end up selling it
>They're suddenly not interested or flake out
>Mfw
>>
>>9754303
I've had a few girls try to buy Honey Cake off my body. I kinda think it's a little.. weird? Makes me feel like I'm only wearing certain dresses to show off.
Like, sometimes I'll see a girl and THINK that, but I wouldn't tell it to their faces.

on holidays she always reminds me she likes it so much shed get it for me, i turn it down because replicas are garbage and tried to show her what its meant to look like "oh i dont like that one as much"
