Gulls, let my tale be a warning to you. Never ever ever select Fedex for your international shipments. I had an oversized and overweight package (nearly 30lbs) and the only option available for shipping it all in one go from FromJapan was Fedex.

>ships 6/1
>gets to Memphis, TN on 6/3
>should be out for delivery on 6/7!
>CLEARANCE DELAY on 6/5 around 2am
>Description provided is insufficient to classify commodity.
>Shipper or Importer must provide a more detailed description of goods.

I had no idea what a clearance delay was so I googled it and founds entire forums of people bitching about this special hell that international packages go to until either the shipper or the receiver send a report detailing what's inside your box and what you're using it for.

I hop on Fedex live chat on 6/5 around 10am. Start chatting with a worker who explains all I need to do is make a list of the stuff mentioned above and email it to "upw@fedex" so I just make a quick list saying my box is full of action figures and stuffed animals and it's all for me, please give package thanks.

I let the live chat person know I've sent it and they assure me if they get the info that day they'd have it moving again next day.

>6/6 CLEARANCE DELAY!!

I don't hear anything back from the email I sent. Live chat has vanished from the Fedex website and when I finally hunt it down on a random page it says no agents available to take my calls. I send them another email to their general customer help address. No reply.

>6/7 CLEARANCE DELAY... again

Suck it up and call Fedex around 9am. Tell the agent my problem and she looks it up. Says they need paperwork for the package. Tell her I sent them an email with the paperwork. She looks again and suddenly discovers FromJapan sent them the paperwork overnight. Tells me everything is fine and that they're just waiting on customs to clear the package and it'll be delivered that day or 6/8.

>6/8
Clearance delay. Call Fedex and get told they don't have the paperwork needed. I need to fill out paperwork to save my package. Tell them I was told to make a list of contents and email it to "upw@fedex". Worker sounds confused and tells me that's not the correct email address and there's another one, doesn't actually tell me what it is.
I let him know the last time I called they said they got the paperwork from the shipper. He looks again and suddenly finds the paperwork, claims they just got it last night and that they're just waiting on customs to release it now.
I ask him will it be delivered next week? He evades my question and just tells me when it gets released they'll contact me with a delivery estimate.

It's not even 8am and I want a drink. Never use Fedex, gulls. I'm never going to get off Mr. Delay's wild ride.

>>
>>9907396
Not sure if it's a joke so sorry for it going over my head but top right is from SU? So isn't that enough of an itabag and not a piss con bag claiming as itabag, or is it because of where their fandom is usually centered?
>>
>>9907397
It falls under "Tumblr bandwagon, LGBTQ, Space Alien" bag as well as "Tacky bag decorations".
Don't know if that's your bag but it's definitely an ita bag, it just falls into those categories.
>>
>>9907403
nayrt but i think the jasper bag is more "decorations unsuitable for character" than "tacky decorations" -- they're just not tacky enough but they're not very like her either
>>
>>9907403
AYRT

Justified reason.
>>
>>9907442
I agree it's not suited to the character but actually it looks nice. I mean how many guys do we see covered with lace, rosettes and ribbons on nice bags.

I wouldn't call this a shitabag. It's got a clear theme, the layout is alright and it's a obvious wip. Just because the fandom is tumblr-centric doesn't devalue someone liking the character. Until they go full klance bullshit anyway.

Top left isn't a pin bag either jfc there's not a single enamel pin on it.
>>
>>9907396
do you know what a fucking pin is dumbass
>>
>>9907464
yeah i wouldn't call it shit either, especially for a decorated heart bag, just needs a little tightening and more/better merch pieces
>>
>>9907464
I think my only gripe is they said they used rinestones, but it's just... Colored fishbowl marbles? Actual rinestones would have been cooler.
Also, sorry. Pin/badge are interchangeable imo but I'm guessing only this community calls them can badges, which I've never heard anywhere else. Enamel pins are different from pins.
>>
>>9907475
They're called can badges in Japan, that's why we call them that. That and they're made out of the same material as soda cans.

Badges are the plastic IDs.

Pins are what you use in pin trading.
>>
>>9907478
Thank you for letting me know!
>>
>>9907396
Maybe it's the lack of context but is top middle really asking how it's looking so far? It's shit for different reasons ie. mahou shoujo "ita bag". But besides that their major mistake is having no relevant merch to juxtapose inserts with so they can get concrete feedback.
>>
>>9907502
I meant to replace that one with one of the others that I'd seen (since there's many that fit under that better) but I'd forgotten.
>>
>>9906976
i can see why you feel that way, you have a centerpiece badge but it doesn't hugely stand out from the other ones around it despite that. i do really like the layout as is, and think that a full on rosette might be too much, but you could always try decorating the badge cover to give it a little more pop.
>>
>>9907475
they're badges in every single fucking country. Did you never see a commerical for a super badge it as a kid? Do you live under a rock? Are you 12?
>>
>>9907521
No I'd never heard of that. I hear badge and pin being used interchangeably.
Even when I type in "pin maker" on google, some websites change between saying pin, badge and button.

But I mean, you can keep insulting me over something this stupid, since it's soooo important to you.
>>
>>9907518
I was thinking of adding rhinestones or maybe a thin border using a smaller rosette around it. Not too big to cover the surrounding badges but enough to make it pop. I’ll try experimenting and see what the end product gives.
>>
>>9907534
nayrt but buttons/badges vs pins/enamel pins is pretty common terminology around here these days, you just need to lurk more. though i don't even know how you could frequent the itabag threads and think that the bingo would slam on button bags when that's half of what gets posted desu
>>
>>9907534
how are they insulting you when you can't tell the difference between an enamel pin and a badge lmao. You got it right, you're definitely stupid af. Please do yourself and lurk these threads a bit more.
>>
>>9907553
I didn't think the labels were exclusively negative, either lol
Are Enamel Pin bags bad? Like, those Disney theme park pins?
>>
>>9907566
really? in a bingo meant to make fun of the fb group you didn't think they were negative?

pin bags can look good if they're themed appropriately but 99% of the time it's a bunch of traced art and fandom memes thrown into a heart bootleg. pay some attention

The United States doesn't make the same hardline distinction between these categories as Japan does, so anyone familiar with Western forms of crafting may well be confused by the terminology.

OP needs to lurk more if they're confused about us using Japanese terms for a Japanese hobby, but there's no reason to have such a stick up your ass.
>>
>>9907396
The jasper bag is also a knock off
>>
>>9907566
They're pin bags not itabags, that's the difference. Dumb people post their pin bags calling them itabags.
>>
>>9907571
I mean, people stretch what an itabag is so they can tag it on insta for attention.
Such is life.
>>
Dumping more Tokyo Disney itabags.
>>
>>9907566
Not inherently but considering this is a hobby about getting merch it can be a cheap cop out. Pin only bags aren't very flashy and enamel pins are pretty cheap nowadays. In an average Itabag, enamel pins are best as an accent, more for complementing bigger pieces or the whole overall look.

Enamel pins are very popular for fandoms like Pokemon (really for the badges) and can work well alongside plushes, cards, and toys. But most bandwagoners don't think about balance and what looks complementary. It's about just having a bag full of stuff to them.

I actually would like that Jasper bag if it weren't for the random gems stuck around the sides of the bag. Rhinestones around the window look clean and get the point across without going overboard.
>>
>>9907624
No kidding. It looked nice in the picture but then when you see the sides it looks like... i dont even know what this is meant to be. Maybe if they didn't use the stones from the bottom of a goldfish bowl it'd look nicer.
>>
>>9907630
Wow I thought they were acrylic flatbacks from >>9907396's picture, but yikes. Compliment retracted.
>>
>>9907602

>>
>>9907630
>>9907632
They're definitely acrylic flatbacks. Goldfish marbles don't have facets and you can see from the way the light is hitting these that they do have them.

I don't hate the idea of putting rhinestones on the sides or having them in different sizes, but they should have been in neat/clean lines in one color or stripes or a diamond shape instead of this colorblind test.
>>
>>9907648
i don't think they were being serious anon i think that's a joke comparison.

>>
>>9907630
Unpopular opinion, but I like this. Gems for the gem character makes sense to me. The layout reminds me of the way figure skating rhinestones are applied. I think it'd look better if they'd used crystal/glass flatbacks instead of plastic ones, though, and if they used stones about half the size. These are so big it's a little awkward.

But still, in general, I like it.
>>

for that anon last thread who wanted a review of the wego heart window luggage bag
>>9901066
pic related is the inside of it. wego magazine that came with it for size comparison. Now, for the specifics:
>Material
feels like a fairly soft faux leather on the outside. The inside is kind of a harder plastic-y fabric, sort of like the kind you find on an umbrella or raincoat.
I don't think you'll have to worry about staining the outside too much, since it seems like it'd be easy to wipe off.
>Design
It's the exact size for the smallest allowed carry-on bags in most airlines, so that's pretty convenient. Interestingly, all the luggage space is only on one side, so it might be better or worse depending on how you pack. There are also a few buckles inside to secure things as well.
The handle extends to a pretty comfortable length, but it might feel a bit short if you're significantly taller than me (I'm 5'6" or 167cm)
Also, the heart window section does have a zipper, despite what some of the official pics look like.
>Overall
It's built pretty nicely as a carry on bag, but the inside dividers feel a little... floppy, and it's definitely still on the smaller side of travel bags. I wouldn't recommend putting anything super heavy in either. The inside supports are mainly just one hard thin-ish plastic backing and two wide metal poles on the side. (you can sort of push the fabric around from the sides).
As long as you know how to pack, though, I don't really see any of this being a problem. The white colour is pretty nice too, and theres a slight hint of beige undertones. Everything also generally just feels soft on the outside as well. It's also not too heavy either.

One final note:
Last time I said it would end up about 80usd with shipping, but turns out the proxy company messed up on the weight of the product, so they had to charge another 50usd for shipping. (I could cancel the order, of course. they were very polite).

If you have questions/ want pics, feel free to ask
>>
>>9907741
does the material seem like it'd clean off easily?
>>
>>9906786
This bag is like the entire bingo card smashed into a bag
>>
>>9907769
I believe so. I have another bag made of similar material that I can pretty much just wipe with a damp towel and still be cleaned. Of course, I'd just have to wait until I actually stain it to be 100% sure.
>>
>>9907741
thank you for the review! Shame about the added fees though.
>>
>>9907770
>hide the safety pins
How is it so many people cannot understand that you can pin things from the other side of the fabric back and only a small part of the pin will show through. All you have to do is either use your brain to figure that out (which apparently is out of the question for some people) or just look at a single bag that does pin them correctly.
>>
>>9907907
You don't even have to do that, if your bag is full enough the pins will get hidden by the other merch overlapping.

Question about pinks - I want to start a Korilakkuma bag, and planned to use a pink base bag to match the cute pinkness of her ears and blush, and to help her merchandise "pop" (I worry that Korilakkuma stuff would blend all together if I use a cream bag). I was going to get this one from Rakuten, but looking at it closer, it's pretty apparent it's a much bluer pink than what her character uses. Will it clash if I use a cool-toned pink bag and the character's details use a warm-toned pink?

>>
>>9908041

Did you read what I wrote at all? The image in the first post was the bag I had already found and was planning on buying, and my question was about color matching, not "what bag should I use lol". The updated image from my second post was made from a bag that I found because of that anon's recommendation (that I noted, I didn't ask for but it was very helpful and appreciated anyway). I thought that much was obvious from reading my posts, or did you just see the images I posted and assumed I was asking for bag recommendations?
>>
>>9908018
You've really never seen one of those bags before? The swimmer scallop bags are extremely common, right after the heart cutout and the window with bow on bottom bags.

It is the very first result when you google 'pink swimmer itabag', and only a few mouse scrolls down when searching 'pink itabag'
>>
>>9908083
"Swimmer" seemed to be the keyword I was missing. I'm new to itabags and definitely more on the cosplay side of /cgl/ than the jfash side, so i was unaware of their existence. The search results might be a regional thing or based on your internet history, because I tried searching "pink itabag" just now and the Swimmer bag didn't show up at all. I am really glad to have been introduced to it though.
>>
>>9908098
suggester anon here, glad you liked it! it also has a polka dot version in the same shade depending on your preferences. they're quite nice bags imo, super happy to have mine and don't think i'll ever be rid of it. good luck with your bag!
>>
>>9908098
I honestly have no idea how google works. All I know is that it keeps asking if I meant 'ita bag' and I keep getting annoyed at it.
Swimmer and Wego are probably the two 'biggest' base bag makers right now. They have a good selection of styles in lots of colors, but they've discontinued a lot of bags because they were getting copied so much, so you might have to buy used. There should be info in the OP guide.
>>
>TFW you wanna make an aesthetic husbando bag with rosettes, chain and the whole shebang but the only style you know how to do is the cram till it's bursting style

Why do I suck so much
>>

Gosh you really should lurk more before you post. Swimmer went bankrupt last year and wego discontinued nearly all of their bags last month. If you'd actually bothered to read any of the previous threads before jumping in you'd know you're wrong. I get blah blah newfag but come on man.
>>

Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma merch tends to be big plushies and random household stuff, so it's gonna be a little hard to find small stuff to go in it but that's my goal. I have a couple mini plush keychains that will probably be fine in it, but finding flat stuff that won't mess up the bag is my priority.
>>
>>9908641
If you want plushies you need either a wego deco room tote or the mise 3D tote from pommop. Both of those are designed for plushies

Anon I've been here a long long time. You're right I should have said 'They HAD a good selection..., WERE the biggest bag makers, etc' but I was just typing up a real quick response so I didn't spend more then 30 seconds on it. You'll notice I did say you have to buy used, because theres only so many bags left.

I realize its summer so everyone wants to jump on the 'lurk more summer newfag haha I'm so clever' wagon, but these threads are already full of cunt behavior, stop adding to it.
>>

A lot of people in these threads are cunts.
Anons get a boner acting superior and making you feel stupid, so don't worry about it too much.
They expect you to look through thousands of messages to answer one question.

With that said, here is a small dump to offset any ill-will. Only looking at my small image thumbnails, so apologies if these bags have been posted recently before.

Not to be a FateSperg I'm guessing the chain's in the Gilgamesh bag (bottom left) are meant to represent the chains he uses as a weapon in the series. It might actually be cool in a better bag.

>>9909218
i dont have any scratches on the frame itself, but there's definitely enough loose room in it the acrylics will click against the front/back when jostled. i think theyre better suited for a stationary display than a bag as-is desu unless you added something between the frames to keep the acrylic stationary

This was pointed out in the previous thread where the bag was posted alone. Even if it's supposed to be the chains of Enkidu it's still tacky as fuck with the nasty lettering and especially the audacity to use a Great Eastern Entertainment keychain for Gil, who probably has the most merch out of any male Fate character.
>>
>>9909572
That and the layout of the chains just feel lazy for CoE; they should be less horizontal back and forth and more wrapping randomly. Plus yeah, the cheap lettering and lackluster use of merch is just an insult to Gil.
As a gilfag I'm actually really offended by this bag. There's a million ways to have done this better.

Has anyone purchased this bag (or the often co-listed tote) off of eBay? There are a number of shops selling this design, but I was hoping someone could vouch for a particular seller's quality before I decide which to buy from.

Alternatively, I'm assuming the eBay listings are all knock-offs, so if anyone knows if/where the originals are still in production, that'd be awesome! I tried the Taobao shop watermarked on the photos of some of the eBay listings (sambag.taobao.com), but no dice. Apologies if I'm asking to be spoon-fed, I've just had NO luck in figuring out how to navigate Taobao despite years of trying... Help would be sincerely appreciated!
>>
>>9909591
I'm more triggered they labeled it as FOTM and it's empty... Not like he's been around 14 years or anything and is a huge cash cow
>>
>>9909714
Oh, I was just assuming the anon who labeled it was a tertiary or something; my faults were with the bag itself.
>>
>>9909591
I'd love to do a Gil bag but he's not my husbando and I'm not sure how much money I'd want to sink into a character who isn't my favorite.

Do you think people would pay for a premade itabag? I feel like the ones who would are also too cheap to actually shell out for labor+merch costs.

Fate is an old workhorse of a series, but it's had a fresh revival of FOTM interest with the surge in popularity this last year or so. They've really been cranking out the marketing on the franchise since the mobile game came out, and it's been paying off.

An alternative I considered was getting the Movic Idolish7 bag and removing the crown, but that would just look like shit and it's not worth it.

I watch the sales group a lot and theres a new box split or sale post every week or so. Fate itself is an old series, but I'd say a large majority of its fans were introduced to it very recently and don't really care about the original VNs or side content.
Which is fine, I'm not much of an 'elitist', but I do think that qualifies it to be a FOTM.
>>

How are the quality of the MyColle bags? The ribbon-type shoulder straps look a little less sturdy than the leather ones (to me, at least). That's the only thing that has me preferring the WEGO bag over that one.

It is pretty big desu but sometimes I struggle for space with my regular wego backpack so I'm not too worried, just gonna need extra carefulness..

>>9910767
Sorry for shit collage, my app kept constantly crashing and i ended up giving up trying to make it look nicer, hopefully the pics will still be big enough (let me know if not and if I can take pic of anything specific).
Like the other anon said, this bag is pretty big, the window portion is about 35cm wide, 25cm tall and measuring it on the outside, about 7cm deeps but it can easily hold larger items, I just stuffed it with a larger plushie and its perfectly fine. I bought it to hold nendoroids safely so, I'm pretty happy about it, they fit even with a base attached.
It's really nicely made, seems pretty sturdy so far and the pleather is smooth and easy to wipe clean. It's also fully lined and there's a zipper closure on the non-windowed part, a zipper pocket inside for smaller personal belongings and an elasticated-top pocket on one of the sides (that I think is perfect to hold a water bottle, for example).
The window has removable insert, it attaches only at the top with velcro and has a metal ring on each top corner. Behind it is pleather so if you want a different insert I just recommend making one of same size with velcro as well, unless you dont mind pinning through pleather.
My only "dislike" is the size of the handles, I'd have prefered them to be longer, would be more comfortable to carry on a shoulder, or a extra removable/adjustable strap.

Sorry in advance for any messy english, if I wasn't clear or missed anything, let me know.

There were a couple stickers on red bubble, but it's a baron wasteland for bagable merch.

>>9912525
Fucking same. I imported the art book way back when and I have always ginormously regretted not throwing in Maki and Haru's rubber straps. There was also a set of dust wipe keychains.

I bit the bullet and got one of the i7 bags so I can have everything here in time for Perry's birthday. On one hand my wallet is grateful no one cares about Bakumatsu Rock anymore, on the other I really wish they'd keep releasing special birthday merch.

Speaking of which, when is it appropriate to use something like Goods Republic, Co-Kan, etc? Do you swallow your disdain just to get the object you want?

I know sometimes they’re really overpriced but other times they have objects that are difficult to get elsewhere even when you look up different sites.
>>
>>9912721
>goodsrepublic
i have never found anything there actually in-stock that wasn't pulled from a suru or otamart listing

>co-kan
nothing there is difficult to get elsewhere except for their ugly charm hangers, which look terrible in bags and in general

if the item is an actual grail, as in, actually fucking rare and not just some $20 piece you could grab at any time, and somehow one of these scalper sites has the only legitimate listing both now and forever, then sure. buy it and be happy. the far more likely scenario is it pops up on mercari 2 weeks later without the goodrepublic tax and you regret it for being a sucker though
>>
>>9912721
I'd say it's fine to use them if you're going for just one base bag that's from taobao. If you only want the one thing then making a taobao purchase isn't universally better, you'll end up spending $30 in service fees and shipping anyways and then have to wait for chinese-western shipping.

But if you're thinking of adding other things to the order (badge covers, silk flowers, other bag embellishments... or some non bagging related items) then doing a taobao haul makes more sense.
>>
>>9912743
Not that anon but what taobao SS do people here use? It's hard to find one that's reliable for everyone that's used it, the taobao thread is all over the place with SS services
>>
>>9912743
since they're all from taobao cokan's bags pop up on ebay for lower prices tho
>>
>>9912726
I appreciate your answer.

I was just thinking because I’m having a hard time finding both types of the “itashirts” and I seen at least one of the types on the scalper websites but I don’t feel thrilled buying from them. I suppose I’ll try to be more patient and check other Japanese and Chinese stores instead of jumping the gun.

But what do you mean by GoodsRepublic tax? I see that it says that shipping is free, so when does it apply?
>>
>>9912764
I think anon just means the up-mark they put on their products
>>
I realized that the shirts on the scalper website isn’t even available, that’s my bad.

>>9912765
Ah. I try to justify in my head that some of the non-ridiculous prices, the shipping is included on the price. I thought that it’s a fairly common tactic.
>>
>>9912721
> Co-kan
NEVER.

> Goods Republic
Actually stocked a grail of mine once which I hadn't seen show up in 2 years. Searched every shopping site to see if they'd just proxied it and nope, so I swallowed my pride and bought it. I'm grateful it wasn't a popular character so it was cheap and their service was good... but... it's goodsrepublic...
>>
My haul has been sitting in customs for almost two weeks now and I’m getting nervous because the last time this happened they sent it back to Japan by accident.
>>
>>9912898
I'd call them if I were you, ask them what's going on. I don't know where you live or whether it'll help at all but this is what I do when my parcels sit in customs for a long time, it usually helps move things along.

I just recieved this bag in the mail funny enough. The bag is just an average canvas bag and it comes kinda squished and wrinkled when you get it. Window is like 9.5x13 inches, so a bit bigger than a sheet of printer paper. I ordered white but it looks more khaki if anything :/ May just use color lightening dye, or just buy another one.
>>
>>9913615
Not that anon but I bought that bag too! and waiting for it to come in the mail.

Could you provide pics with merch in it? Or if anyone could provide pics of the tote "in use" that'd be great. Google isn't giving me very good itabag related images in the search

How do y’all deal with people who sperg over your bag?

I was wearing my itabag to a convention yesterday and was walking somewhere and a girl behind me just goes “OMG YASSS! I love X!! He’s definitely husband and daddy!!” In the middle of the hallway and it made me uncomfortable because I had no idea how to respond besides keep walking and saying thank you. I obviously adore the character in my bag but love/fantasize is a bit far for me.
>>
>>9914011
I'm extremely shy and overly conscious about social situations. Usually I just say thank you and hope they don't try to follow up with a convo.
>>
>>9914011
Treat it like a sperg complimenting your cosplay.

"OMG, thank you!! I love him too! Isn't he great for such-and-such reason?? Thanks again! Have a good con!"

Looks like just a regular tote. A lot of Disney people just use regular totes and backpacks. If you can find on Disney JP's shop what the height of one plush keychain is just multiply that by 3 and you'll have the tote height.
>>
>>9914488
And by regular totes and backpacks I mean just the regular character ones like >>9907592

Tokyo Disney only sells one specific bag that's remotely itabag like and it's just a satchel bag with pockets to stick your plush in and a clear cover. It's not that great and not worth the price.
>>

nayrt but I have Arjuna-bag in the works and my gf has Karna. They've been WIP since last fall and are still nowhere near done since we constantly have new merch on pre-order. Emailed FromJapan and they told me they sent FedEx all the paperwork they needed on the 6th (the 7th here) and it's still not updated and no one has contacted me or FJ.

I've sent Fedex two emails since, one question and one complaint and not gotten a reply for either.

Tempted to call yet again because they've sworn up and down that as soon as they got the paperwork it'd be on its way to me next day and I'm on day 7.

This package was supposed to be delivered on the 6th, it's 20 minutes from my house, and I paid $300 in shipping for it.

Oh, I love your backing fabric and the little gacha bubble charm on the top right! Arthur's definitely very popular, but they added him to FGO so late that he's especially behind on the baggable merch train. I'm still shocked they were actually willing to give him a nendo.
>>
>>9914546
that's still a lot, man. was it 300 WITH the discount?
