Did some fixing up on my list!

A little broke at the moment but if someone was selling the SFC set separately id snatch it from you in a heartbeat
(Unfortunately can't afford the whole dress set on Mercari right now. maybe in a few weeks I'll buy it all, unless I had a solid buyer for the dress)

As always, set on colors/cuts except I would be content with Magic Amulet in black/red or in jsk form.

Good Luck everyone! I hope we all get to ride off of Telephone chans luck!

Only looking for these cuts and colors and first row is highest priority. I know of the Milky planet in the last thread; hoping that they drop the price.

Good luck everyone!

Thanks again to the anon from last thread for the link to IW's Strawberry Rose Garden!

Eh not the worst time to start the new thread at least, last one was almost dead. They might have been antsy about making sure the Telephone-chan image was used.

I genuinely hope GemGem enjoys her Meta dress, cause I won't buy it from her.

Marine stripe is still my top priority, the others are just high priority wishlist dresses.
>>
>>9936518
Why would you a buy a dress that won't fit you?
>>
>>9936627
based

>>9936637
>>9936639
No need to ruffle your feathers yet gulls, she said she's not sure she'll fit. A lot of dresses are completely okay 1-3 cm above the standart measurements, especially with AP.
>>
Only sadness.
I see the OP all the time and the strapless one, but I just can’t bring myself to buy it because I feel like as soon as I do, these ones will turn up.
>>
>>9936649
So you don't ruin this thread with your shitposts too. Get a fucking hobby.
She has the dress now, there's no point in starting drama about her may or may not fitting into it for the next 20-50 replies.
>>
>>9936661
Stop trying to police what other people post. If you don't like it, hide the posts.
>>
>>9935245
Just a FYI I don’t think you will fit the Magic Amulet op. I had it at some point and my 85cm boobs didn’t fit at all, I couldn’t zip it up.
>>
>>9936669
And what are you doing right now? I just don't want dream dress threads to derail into shitflinging too. Stating your opinion and asking a simple question like >>9936639 is one thing and obvious baiting like >>9936637 >>9936649 another.
>>
>>9936684
I'm not the one going around reeing telling people to stop posting all together. I'm sorry you are fat and upset that people are confused why you'd buy a dress that doesn't fit, but this is 4chan. We aren't here to pander to your feefees
>>
>>9936627
Is that Meta dress desired by a lot of people? I've never seen it mentioned anywhere but here, by you I'm assuming, so for GG to get it and attempt to scalp it... did she really do that because just one person said they wanted it? Not only is that a completely stupid "business" practice, it makes me weary of ever posting my dream dresses here. Good on you for not buying it anon, you deserve better.
>>
>>9936726
It's not popular at all and as far as I know, I'm the only one who posted about it. She is not trying to sell it right know, but she bought the listing on lacemarket last week that a kind anon mentioned in the last thread. So I'm honestly hoping that she just bought it because she likes it too and wants to wear it, so the dress finds a good home with her. It was heavily altered so I wouldn't have bought it anyways, but I still got a bit upset when I saw that she of all people had bought it.Maybe that totally unjustified, but eh, it rubbed me the wrong way.

>>
>>9936971
I sadly don’t have it anymore to measure for you, but I got it half way up my back. I also saw my friend who is pretty thin and has small boobs wear hers and it wasn’t that baggy on her like you would think with how petite she is, which is when I knew I had to sell it. You can also check who tagged it on insta, a lot of them seem flat.

I’m looking for the cutsew dress of it personally instead since I still like the print.
>>

Do you have really wide shoulders? My bust is 82 cm and I have trouble fitting in some AP ops with 90 cm bust, but I have massive shoulders which may be the cause of it

I have the jsk of this, but have no intention of selling it any time soon. Good luck finding it. Not many are willing to sell the red colorway. Maybe a few years down the road it will not be soo popular.

Where do your guys have the most luck finding your dream dresses, especially older ones?
I only really look at lm, cc, wunderwelt, and once in awhile y!j. I know I'm missing a ton of places but some of the other does I suck at navigating and I'm not sure how good they are anyway.

You listed most of the best places but the Facebook sales comms also are a good place to look. Some people don’t sell on LM and do sell on Facebook. Also look into mercari for people selling. But often times it’s just checking the sites you listed often and waiting till it shows up. I had to wait for 3 years for mine to show up any where. And 5 before I was able to actually buy it ( kept getting out bid)

>>9937572
Honestly, I have no idea how popular the print is, or the red colorway. Don't think I've ever seen a worn picture of the latter, which is surprising to me since it's the best one.
>>
>>9938043
I think red sold out during the reservation, so it was quite popular. For worn pictures you can just search for rosynightsmasquerade on IG, quite a few come up there.

>>
>>9938043
>>9938045
I got mine through in this thread (bless you australian anon). It was a rather popular release that year, which sold out quickly, I couldn't get it on release. But it's not really that popular overall, but simply hard to find.
I think most owners just don't want to part with it, since it's really pretty in person and rather big compared to similar dresses like Merry Making in the Ghost Town.

Now that you mention worn pictures, I remember never posting my outfits pictures on instagram (even though I got engaged in it lol). Maybe I should post some. If you'd like any detail pictures feel free to ask.
>>
>>9935219
oh man good for her, finally
>>
>>9938091
Your engagement pictures must have looked lovely! Hopefully it will come up eventually, I've only been looking for a few months which admittedly really isn't very long. All the ones I've come across so far have been purple or grey. I'm kicking myself for not even having been aware of it when it came out. I had taken a break from keeping up with new releases at the time, so I guess this is what I get.
>>
>>9938043
IIRC the red sold out in about 5 mins (the low-waist JSK) but all cuts were in stores for a couple days. Red is the most popular colorway, but the cut you want is less sought after so that might help. I got mine from a friend and cherish it, you’ll love yours when you get it, too!

I preordered mine through the shop and they told me the purple was the more desired and that there was soo much demand for the purple that they Made twice as many of them then the others. The red was second most popular but was still available to be ordered through the stores themselves before they went live for online orders. I ordered four dresses ( one of red and purple both jsk cuts) and the purple ones came almost three weeks later then the reds due to the double production. It’s not a matter of red selling out more, it’s a matter that purple was avalible after due to more being made.

Ha that color purple is hard to find matching accessories for! What were they thinking, red is so much more common in gothic. I want both but I already know I will have trouble finding decent purple accessories
>>
>>9940131
That’s why there was a bonnet made in fhe print. Also there’s orange in the print you could work with. Around Halloween time you can find some good purple and orange stuff that matches the print if you go to craft stores and make accessories. But really, there isn’t any thing wrong with just having the jsk be the only thing purple.

Haha, yeah that's because this thread reminded me I did not post any pictures! I am so lazy when it comes to pictures I did not take with my phone camera. I took the chance to post some other older pics that have been sitting on my computer.
I feel sorry for never posting and then suddenly posting 5 things at once.

>>
>>9940449
Gonna be side eyeing you from now on that I now know you come here. It’s not really wise to let others know you come to this place.
>>
>>9940522
Why would you side eye someone for using a website that you also use? What sort of petty bullshit is this?
>>
>>9940522
Tbh I was always pretty open about going to /cgl/.
I'm not wearing it like a badge but I'm not treating it like a secret either. If anyone thinks less of me because if it, so be it. It's not like I care for the drama side of cgl anway.
>>
>>9940524
Considering the nature of this place and the amount of vendettas that get post. If drama happens in your comm and you are open about being someone who comes here you are on the list of suspicion for being the spoon stirring the drama.

>>9940525
If you don’t then that is fine. But if any drama with those you know and your community come up, you might get targeted unfairly for being as open as you are about coming here. I am not in your comm, but have had members of the comms I have been in be treated differently because they where open about coming here. Many times people would be apprehensive to approach them because they didn’t want to be posted here.
>>
>>9940527
I understand your concern and it's not like these thoughts have never crossed my mind.
I'm not really part of a comm though, I am mostly in a clique with my close lolita friends who know me well enough.

Also, I am rather open about which threads I frequent and which parts of cgl I don't like. I cannot please everyone, so if someone wants to avoid me because of it I can only hope they eventually get to know me better. Overall I think it's better to be open about it rather than someone busting you because they recognized you.
>>
>>9940530
Fair enough. I have my doubts but considering how you behave on other online platforms and how it appears in your posts you might be one of those very rare gems of cgl that don’t come here for the salt mines.
>>
>>9940221

>>
Question for all of you while we wait for our dresses to show up.

How do you feel when you see anons in the thread hunting for a dress or item that you have, especially one that you have no intention of selling?
Do you feel guilt, or do you feel even happier that you own it, or do you have mixed feelings? Does it make you want to sell it, or hold onto it more?
>>
>>9941360
Before I sold off my Honey Cake set I kept getting offers of $250-300 for it because of how badly damaged it was. Good thing I refused those offers because I managed to sell it for more than twice that in auction. I would have kept it if it weren’t for the fact that my wide football player back prevented me from wearing it comfortably. And I didn’t want to alter it because I’m a purist when it comes to dresses.
>>
>>9941360
It makes me feel only a little bad, because eventually they will find it. But I also feel a little good if I have it, but not really much. So mixed feelings.
>>
>>9941360
I feel so conflicted.
On one hand, I want to sell it to them, especially if my feelings about it aren't dream dress tier.
On the other hand I still like my wardrobe really much and I just keep looking for them.

But if I ever considered selling certain dresses, I would offer it to these anons first.
>>
>>9941360
If it's a DD or high tier wishlist dress of my own it makes me feel better about owning the dress and makes me want to keep it even more.
However, if it's a dress that I only sort of like, I'll sell it. I've done that before in the past.
>>
>>9935219
I am so happy for you telephone chan!!!! I have been looking for it always with you in mind!
>>
>>9940396
Same dream print! Except I'm looking for literally anything in this colourway except the long sleeve OP. Short sleeve original OP is my favorite.
I also really like the long cut of the AATP release, but I wouldn't be willing to pay as much for that series compared to the original print. (I'd still pay well though!)
>>
>>9941431
The skirt is up on LM. But the jsks come up soo rarely that it’s a fabled dress at this point.
>>
>>9941438
Sorry, should have said. Literally any *dress in this colourway. Skirts and I don't get along.
>>
>>9941360
If it's a dream dress, I feel happier that I own it and I want to hold on to it more because it affirms my belief that hunting for my dd was well worth my time and money. But if it's a dress I just feel "okay" about, I do take the time to consider selling it to someone who would love it more and get more wears out of it.
>>
>>9941360
If it's a dress that I'm never planning on selling I feel smug, but if it's a dress that I don't wear that often I will occasionally message them and offer to sell it to them. I've sold 2-3 anons their DDs from these threads. I feel like if I'm not wearing a dress enough to justify owning it I might as well sell it for its market value price to someone who will appreciate it more than me.
>>
I’d love the have the set in any colorway. I saw the listing on LM but the bidding war on it/price is too crazy. Someday.
>>
>>9941615
You know I probably see like four or five of these listed on j.mercari in different cuts and colors everytime I get on there? Go check it out! I'm sure you'll find one cheaper than LM

It’s been a while since I’ve checked on there, thanks for reminding me!

"Thank heavens I already found mine" -- I mean, usually if I have no intention of selling, then that generally means I _really_ like the dress, and it's itself a DD to me too, right? I'm just glad not to be caught in a bidwar with some other gulls.

If it's not a DD and I don't particularly don't intend to not sell then yeah, I'd totally sell it to anon or put it up for sale if other people want it that bad.

I usually have a reaction along the lines of cool, that person has a really nice taste, or something like that. Sometimes I even reply to that person, not to brag but to say something like "great taste anon that dress is awesome/comfy/well made/etc."
If it's on the rare side or a piece that took me some time or effort to get then I do feel a bit happy and proud that I've already managed to get one.

I don’t know, I get like a sense of pride when I know I have someone’s dream print. I want to just flaunt it like a bitch but I know better then that because I was once looking for my dream dress and saw others had it. But I also tend to keep most of my dresses for a long while before I decide it’s time to part with them. If I know it’s someone’s dream dress and they know I own it, I don’t make a deal with them to buy the dress of I’m not ready to sell it. But if they bug me to sell it to them because “ I don’t wear it” i wear it in spite of them. Be pushy in trying to get me to sell my dresses before I want to, I’ll make sure you see it as much as possible till you back off and get it like the rest of us. Through waiting for it to show up in the sales threads.
>>
>>9941913
Every print is someone's dream print. This is the dumbest line of thinking I've read here all month.

Like I get collecting and stuff but at this point the healthy thing to do is either lose weight or sell until she can wear lolita again. Her coping is really shitty, and her room looks like it's on the verge of TLC hoarders tier.

>>
>>9941917
Good thing you only come here once a month.
>>
>>9941978
Or you own dresses that everyone else owns and or are average dresses that multiple brands have made similar styles of. But chances are is it’s someone’s dream dress but they are quiet about it being their dream dress. Some people are very secluded on what their dream dress is because they don’t want others to know ( like rainies buying people’s dream dresses just to sell them for mark up) and others are very verbal about their dream dresses in hopes of someone selling it to them. Then there’s the people that pester people in their comms for dream dresses and asking them to let them know when they sell it. I have two girls in my comm that do that to me and one of our mods because we have some coveted prints.
>>
>>9941945
Dude it's even worse bc she's made multiple videos saying it's not even about the weight and fit, she just doesn't want to wear lolita anymore, only hoard I mean collect it. Unless she shanges her mind for the 15th time she has no intention of wearing lolita.
Sage for OT.
>>
>>9941978
this is stupid, if you like the things you own that should be satisfying enough, wanting to own things that other people want is shallow and a waste of money
liking things nobody else wants doesn't mean your taste is bad, it means it's unique and different and there's no shame in that
if you want to be mainstream so bad just buy 4 holy lanterns and call it a day lol

I know there is a NWT set on Yahoo Japan for 60,000 yen and that is way more than I'd be willing to spend. I put that dress in the "if the price is right" category because I'm planning on wearing it for daily use; I don't want to pay a ton of money for the Sugary Carnival special set and then be too scared to wear it for fear that I'd damage it. What sort of condition are your dresses in? I'm fine buying a SC set that's well-worn if the price reflects the condition.

So I thought, what if I bought the dress, price tag attached and all, and made like a raffle online for people who are actually interested in this stuff for like $1 and draw a winner every month or bi weekly. All I need is 300ish people to give me one dollar and then they can win of these cool ass dress. That SOUNDS like a nice idea. Only big problem I see with this is that you have zero rep in the community. If you made a post wherever you wanted to gain attention about your little give away, it would look like this: "Hi, I have a $300 lolita dress, no it's real I swear. Send me $1 to my paypal and you can win it!"

That just screams shade/sham. But if you're intentions are true, that would be cool to win a big ticket item for only a buck.
>>
>>9943623
>>Is Selling Raffle Tickets for Profit Legal in California? State law governs most forms of gambling, including raffles. Some states allow nonprofit organizations to raise money by selling raffle tickets, but no state allows individuals or for-profit groups to conduct raffles.

Hmmm...sounds like I can't do it for myself, as I'm an individual. But then again, what's to stop me from making a Patron or a Ko-fi on Tumblr (that's where users get charged once a month right?) and saying once a month, I promise to send a drawing if you continue to support me...oh and oops, I sent a dress as well as a bounce.

Ok I've figured out an ingenious loop hole for my drawing give away and then one package might have a dress it in.

This was the one I tried on and thought I looked pretty cool in it. So I figured I but this on and use for my first reward. But I don't know anything lolita fashion. Like, yes, I can see what looks cute and your cords and etc. But is a dress like this even desired? Is Alice and the Pirates better or "wanted" more over than Angelic Pretty? Should I go for a much more fairy-type design?

>>
>>9944575
I'm 21, make 12 an hr and pay all of my own bills, food, everything. I'm estranged from my family so I don't get any help and I'm still able to buy secondhand. If you spend 1000 dollars on your first coords you're a fucking moron
>>
>>9944575
Here is the cost of an outfit brand new from AP.

OP- 306
OTKs-25
Head accessory- 37
Shoes-154
Bag:108
Jewelry-20-40 each

Now Idk about you but I'm not retarded to think these amounts add up to $1K
>>
>>9944517
You have this, you're not a lolita, but you want to use it in a raffle as a prize people can draw, as a loophole to...? something, not clear.
To answer, that item is not a coveted piece, and would seem like a 'I don't want it so I have to give it away to get rid of it' sort of gift, which is still nice but won't be well received, except by new folks that wouldn't possibly be affronted.
Building a wardrobe takes time and consideration, curating, but littler items like accessories, bags or jewelry can also be costly and hard to find, plus a lot of lolitas are paycheck to paycheck from what I can tell, not so much of a budget for smaller needed things over main pieces.
If you have a budget big enough to use a main piece from AATP, you could just as easily get several smaller/pricey for what it is items to the same value.

Or, just get the dress for you and don't do a raffle?
>>
>>9944632
I'd say if you do a raffle at all to start with small items and maybe work your way up to a dress. Like let's say New Years rolls around and there's a coveted dress being released, if you did a raffle on a dress like that and you're already established with raffling smaller items (like jewelry or purses, accessories and that sort), it would draw in more attention. It would also help if you're a shop or established on social media so that people can trust your word on it. Because honestly, someone saying "hey send me a buck for a raffle where you could maybe win a dress no one wants!" Sounds like a complete scam

Go look at what some giveaway posts look like, and other raffling posts online. You don't seem like you know what you're really doing
>>
>>9944517

Yeah, that's not a coveted dress. Not every dress is a popular one. Even AP has some fugly duds that no one wants to touch with a ten-foot pole.

I'm with the other anon. Go small and start with like a $10-$30 accessory raffle, that way you only need like 10-30 people sending you $1 and you can send them whatever. Build up to an actual dress. It's sale season at the moment, so you should be quick if you want to take advantage of lower prices to kick-start the raffling thing, then you'll have a more solid rep by the time it comes to raffling an actual dress.

Also publicise your winners. Link back to the recipient's blog or whatever, it helps people realise you're actually sending out dresses and not lying.

You'll also want to clarify what happens if you don't hit your target. I'm guessing you want to keep the excess $1 that people send you, which is fine -- anyone who sends a dollar hoping to receive brand new burando is probably fine knowing you're keeping the excess. What happens if you don't actually hit $300 or whatever is needed to buy the dress? Do you refund everybody the money? Keep it and send them something small? Hash these details out in the open and announce them up front, at least you'll avoid angry misunderstandings calling you a scammer.
>>
>>9944575
You really don’t know the lolita community at all. Most lolitas are in college and or out of college with successful careers. I make roughly 18 an hour at my job and can pay my car payment, my mortgage ( I own a house not renting a apartment), pay my college loans monthly, my credit cards are always paid off and I can still splurge on a new dress or two a month. I travel often for vacation and am currently saving for a wedding at the same time. I wear the fashion regularly and are not this “ don’t have rent or loans “ nonsense. I’m also not the only one like this. There are many out there on the same financial track as me. This is why we are in this hobby in the first place. We can afford it and we enjoy it.
>>
>>9944660
And another thing to add on, and I'm not sure if this is a problem anymore but back in like.. 2012(..?) I remember a lot of giveaway blogs on tumblr had lots of issues announcing winners because they would be harassed. So I think you need to seriously sit down and think it through a bit more than "burando giveaway! The gulls will surely love this!"

There are a lot of issues with giveaways and you need to make sure you're not only legally doing it, but protecting the winners and yourself, and making sure people entering feel safe and comfortable enough entering
