>red delicious >its actually disgusting
>>20971516>Yummers brand snack cakes!>they're fucking vileMany such cases. Did you never realize that corporations will do literally anything and everything they can to convince you that what they're selling you is..1.) Healthy2.) Delicious3.) Makes you more desireable4.) Reserved for only cool people (like you!)5.) Anything else that'll help sell itretard
These just remind me of crappy elementary school lunch, and my childhood friend's mexican family buying them as one of their two fruits. The other being already spotty bananas. Mealy bland trash.
>>20971516>>20971594I like them but there are better apples.
>>20971654I like granny smith and cosmic crisp : )
>>20971698Do people really eat granny smiths on their own? For me, it's honeycrisp. Maybe I'm just another sugar addict...
>>20971516Red Mid
>>20971813Honeycrisp is ass, no real apple flavor there. Fuji is still the king.
>>20971516there's a story to thatoriginally it was called Hawkeye and it was famous for its award winning flavor, earning the nickname Red Delicious.but it got popular right when the supermarket was invented, and a bunch of browning apples on a shelf is unappetizing so the apples were modified to be more colorful, more shelf stable and more hardy for transport, which turned it into the apple we know and, well, know today.
It's a gamble. There are actually good Red Delicious out there, I swear, and when you have them you understand. The name isn't a grift and the apple isn't either; it's the industrial corruption of the U.S. food system and its overreliance on stability.
>>20971698>cosmic crispWhat the fuck is this? Gen Z vapers started breeding apples?
I like them when the skin is a very dark color. Those are S tier.
>>20971537AI post
>>20972321Yes. Go eat your crabapples.
>>20971516I love eating these the skin tastes like wax and the flex makes your mouth pucker it's delicious
>>20971516I'm actually kinda surprised it isn't blue
Are apples the most hybridized foodstuff available? Seems like every few years there's a new variety and the older ones disappear forever.
>>20971516I planted that and a gala one last month. Are red delicious really that bad? surely they are good for something
>>20973474They're pretty bad.Very thick skin.Incredibly mealy.Dry.
>>20973474Separating people with no taste from their money
>>20971516I like their crispness. But for my, it's Envy.
I'm not sure if these are available nationally, but these are the greatest apples in the world.
There are some good ones. Red delicious have a fairly high sugar content, but other strains overtook them a long while ago, and now they just stand out as having a lousy texture as a result.
>>20973595damn i just made this up but i looked on wikipedia and its true
>>20972066But it has such a nice apple bite
Could be worse.
>>20974098always a laugh
>>20974098based Arkansas Black Apple>fruit is supposed to be eaten and the seeds pooped out by animals>FUCK THAT DONT EAT ME I AM DISGUSTING
>>20974620for me it's Honeycrisp
Been eating multiple cosmic crisps per day since September but they're finally starting to taste badGuess the seasons over boys, pack it up
>>20971516>Golden Delicious>it's not gold
Has no one here ever had a Red Delicious that was fresh and crisp?
Jazz is the superior mix of breaburn and royal gala
Really photogenic fruits often kinda suck compared to some more "organic" looking ones from my experience. Red delicious looks exactly like its name but the best apples I've had are some of the local fresh whatever no-name branded ones.
>>20971813granny smiths are very good but if you get a bad harvest of them they're inedibly sour and there's no way to tell without tasting them
black guy saying it>rhett desiduous
>>20976770actually funny>gurney smiff>honkeycrisp>fitchee
>>20976623/thread
>>20974098If it's firm and mild I'd imagine it would be good for hash or filler in sausage. Maybe fried with cabbage.
