What qualifies as good tequila? Or any spirit for that matter. I only get whiskey because there are lots of variables like with wine, so whisky enjoyers are just the same fags as wine snobs. But every other main spirit can only be judged by which one causes the least repulsion (AKA "goes down easy").

If you like tequila for the flavor that agave brings, then additives make the spirit worse. If you want your tequila to taste like vanilla, and cotton candy and shit like that, then you may not mind additives at all. There's probably more consumers in the latter category honestly.I'm sure there's plenty of cases where additives are used sparingly and barely noticeable, but there's also a lot of junk out there that tastes completely artificial due to additives, such as Casamigos.
