for me, it's the borscht with croquet
>>

Beef borscht topped with sour cream and chopped parsley and served with rye bread and thinly sliced salo (cured pork fat) is probably my favorite dish.
>>
Depends on the style. There are so many variants, it's like asking if sandwiches are good.
For example, a good friend from back in school's parents are immigrants from Lithuania. They're borscht is made with defatted beef stock and served cold, pureed smooth, without meat. If has buttermilk added, making it shockingly pink. Hungarian "borscht" (ceklaleves) has shredded beets, mushrooms, onions, mushroom stock (or vegetable broth) and vinegar. There are styles where the beets are picked before use. There are styles that use beetroot juice but no actual beet. There are ones that are made days in advance and allowed to ferment before eating. There are chunky ones, smooth ones, sweet ones, sour ones, clear ones, opaque ones, thin ones, thickened ones, soupy ones and ones that are almost dry among many, many other variants. Some even lack beetroot altogether.
I like my borscht. I like a few other people's borscht. I do not like that Lithuanian one, tho.

I'm sure many first time borscht eaters panic when seeing what their poop looks like after

this is true, there are so many versions of this soup. here in Poland it's a clear one either served like this >>20976551
or with meat / mushroom dumplings

we also eat the Lithuanian version, though the "cold soup" aspect of it filters many people

You don't pay her, you pay her parents.
>>
>>20976418
It's an ironic dish because beets are rich in nitrates that lower blood pressure, but borscht is extremely salty.

It tastes exactly like it looks.

I dont care about most ways to serve it, but I think its excellent in a big mug with a lot of ground pepper when its very cold outside.

bonus points of those polish meat pancakes are next to it.

It was invented in Ukraine, not Russia. Remember that, it's very important and the Wikipedia page is locked to make sure you don't forget. Remember; Ukrainian borscht.

Love it. There's a restaurant near me called Veselka that does a really good version of it, and they sell it premade, too. Add a little sour cream, get a little bread, and you've got yourself a meal

They make a meat version too, if you were concerned about that.

I'm Romanian,it's called Borș here and it's probably the most consumed food. There are many variants of bors, and the borș is actually the juice that gives the soup it's sour taste:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bor%C8%99_(bran)
There are many types of bors, bors with beans, bors with potatoes, bors with pork, bors with fish and rice, bors with chicken, bors with meatballs, bors with beatroots, bors with tripe, bors with dumplings, etc. Sour cream is commonly added to bors, and it's often eaten with hot peppers. It can be tasty both cold and hot. It's eaten with bread or mămăligă (polenta).
And yes, bors is a very good food, how good the cook is matters, and especially your preferences. For example i dislike bors with pork but i love bors with beans, and bors beetroots is probably my favorite, bors with fish is awesome too. It's a soup, you can't go wrong with soup.
Bors is not Ukrainian and i'm glad that this war happened and that now Russians and Ukrainians are both dying,it makes me very happy. It's a food that was probably eaten in eastern europe since god knows when yet these arrogant niggers clad in white skin without history or culture claim that they invented it.God i fucking hate slavs.

So,bors is not only made with beetroots, that's just a variant, there are many more. It's a very good food OP,it's cheap to make and if you make a pot of it then it can last you a week, and most importantly it's delicious. If you want to make it then try to search recipes using other words than borscht, because the resulting recipes will only show you how to make beetroot soup.I don't know, search for "Romanian soup recipes" or something.Maybe use sites in Romanian and use a translator,or sites from other eastern european countries, since this is a food eaten in all of eastern europe so the recipes will be quite similar.

>but borscht is extremely salty.
Why do you eat shit about things you know nothing about? It's not extremely salty you retarded faggot,it's only too salty if you add too much salt,if you really want then you don't even need to add salt, although it won't be as good.
>>
>>20979668
this
it's sour, sweet and often a bit spicy. salty is the last flavor I think of
>>
>>20979660
do you really not realize that you gypsies are the most hated people in the world
>>
>>20979709
and?
>>
>>20979710
my point is that a gypsy has no right to talk shit about anyone
>>
>>20979736
gypsy i am not even ukrainian. you are as low as it gets. stop being so fucking arrogant
>>
>>20979748
I didn't say that you are Ukrainian you blind idiot.I don't give a fuck which country you are from, you are just a faggot.
>>
>>20979757
I'm not a gypsy,and even if i was,better a gypsy than a faggot of your magnitude.
>>
>>20976473
That's mushroom soup.
>>20976418
Beetroot, like all root vegetables, needs sandy or clay soil to thrive. If you can't source them they're pretty much useless.
Most of the flavour is on the outside of the plant (the skin), so you want them biologically grown as well.
You're better off just skipping Borscht if you can't meet these 2 requirements because it'll be plain boring and bland.
>>
>>20976418
Its soup with beets, potato, beef, carrots etc. Can't really go wrong with that.
