Name a more based spread

I've been eating scarfing peanut butter for years and I recently got a vitamix and decided to make my own thinking it'd be amazing.

Peanut butter made from just peanuts and salt is nearly inedible.
Who knew I was addicted to sugar this whole time
>>
>>20976700
There's about a half teaspoon of sugar in commercial peanut butter. It's hardly detectable. Chances are you just didn't do something properly.
>>
>>20976700
>Peanut butter made from just peanuts and salt is nearly inedible.
sounds like a (you) problem
>>
>>20976700
Did you use enough salt? I've never made my own, but when I buy peanut butter I buy the kind made from only peanuts and salt. I don't think there's a big difference in taste compared to the kinds with sugar and whatever other crap.
>>
Yep, you only need this spread on beef steak and you are good to go.
>>
>>20976700
My peanut butter says 97% peanuts, then salt is the next ingredient. WTF is wrong with you?
>>
>>20976727
How is anything that you just said relevant?

It's an easy choice between the two.

That commercial peanut butter has barely any sugar, therefore your apparent sugar addiction is squealing dramatic hyperbole

disgusting slop

Tahini and olive oil are pretty fucking expensive. Other than that, humus is pretty based.
>>
>>20976696
Great on toast or in oatmeal for breakfast.

Is it bitter? Add more salt.
Salt counters bitterness and can make it taste a little sweet almost.

Nope

It's not a ton of sugar turning it into candy but it's still definitely noticeable compared to unsweetened peanut butter.
>>
>>20976864
Your two comments are contradictory. If you were addicted to sugar, such that unsweetened tasted horrible compared to normal peanut butter, you would not taste two grams of sugar. Pick which argument you want to make.
>>
>>20976870
I didn't make the other comment.

People addicted to sugar might not specifically notice sugar in things but they'll notice a lack of it.
>>
>>20976880
People who are addicted to things experience tolerance, which means you need more and more to get the same effect. If someone is addicted to sugar, then eating something with a very low amount of sugar is going to have no effect on them. E.G., they are not going to notice two grams of sugar, especially if it's emulsified in 15 grams of fat with added salt.

Yes, they'll need more for something to actually taste sweet. They might not think something with 2g of sugar tastes sweet but without that 2g it probably tastes a lot more bitter to them.

I just threw a tub of roasted and salted peanuts into the blender and turned it into a liquid. I did a 2nd tub and added honey, which tasted slightly better (and had a really fucked up crumbly texture) but still worse than Jif.

Next time I'll try adding more salt, although I'm pretty confident even without adding salt, my peanut butter already had more salt than Jif. Maybe it had too much salt? Maybe the peanuts needed to be roasted darker? I don't understand how Jif can only have a couple ingredients and taste so much better than what I made. I might buy some molasses as well since Jif uses that.
>>
>>20976700
You're american. Of course you're addicted to sugar. Peanut butter here only contain peanuts and salt.

>>
>>20976706
Jif and Skippy have much more than a teaspoon m8. Idk where you're getting that info
>>
loaded with sugar. that is the only downside imo
>>
>>20977581
They literally do not read the label.
>>
>>20977581
It's a half teaspoon of sugar in the standard two tablespoon serving size.
>>
>>20977593
>>20977589
Per serving. 3 grams of sugar per serving. One teaspoon of sugar is 4 grams. There's a shit load of sugar in jif since one serving of peanut butter really is not that big.
>>
>>20977598
In other words, one serving of jif is basically 10% sugar
>>
>>20977598
That's right. You were incorrect in your statement. Just say you were wrong.
>>
>>20977598
Stop moving the gold posts. It's less than a teaspoon and you said it's way more. You were incorrect.
>>
>>20977613
You were 25% off and think something being 1/10th sugar is not a lot. No. You're the fat retard in this thread.

>>
>>20977632
Show me where I can buy one serving of peanut butter. One jar of peanut butter is 10% sugar. More than a single teaspoon. Your post was worded retarded and wrong
>>
>>20977640
I'm sorry that you can't admit you were wrong. You just keep moving the goldposts. I don't know why you're so hung up on dying on this hill, man
>>
>>20977647
Because claiming the amount of sugar in jif peanut butter is undetectable is insane. The difference between that and organic peanut butter with little to no sugar is night and day. It might as well be peanut frosting.
>>
>>20977647
Just for reference, a 12 oz can of coke is a little over 10% sugar. Jif has similar sugar content to coke. That's not undetectable
>>
>>20977475
peanut butter anywhere only contains peanuts and salt. Just be grateful your American overlords allow you to buy it and post about it on our site.
>>
>>20977685
Nobody ever argued otherwise. Get over the argument bro you lost.
>>

There is a lot of anti-nutrient in nuts and cereals. So most of the vitamins and proteins are not absorbed
>>
>>20978020
Thats fine I make sure to take activated charcoal to kill the nutrients that might still be absorbed
