Next month I’ll turn 35 and for the first time in my life today my weeb crave has been satisfied (a bit) because my brother brought me from Tokyo, after a 15 hours long flight, these 2 salmon onigiri (grilled salmon and red Alaskan salmon).

Long story short, it was one of the the best fucking snack I’ve ever had especially if you consider that each one of those costs the equivalent of 0.90€ (!!!).

What snack of this quality and balance of nutrients (rice, fish and seaweed) can you even buy in your country for that amount of money which is not goyslop? Is it even handmade? No of course.

In my cunt McDonald’s used to sell (idk if they still do) a 1€ hamburger or mctoast, but as we said it’s goyslop so it doesn’t count.

I can’t even eat rice and cereals but today I did it and didn’t regret the collateral effects, and if anything I’m now sad because if I’ll ever visit Japan I won’t be able to eat dozens of these little shits like I would like to do.

Why can’t we have nice things?

The salmon is cooked in both of them, also the airplane cabin is always cold as hell.

Why is the salmon so grey? The salmon in onigiri always has that same bright orange, like the on the wrapper image. This looks more like the tuna mayo onigiri.

It looks like that.

I ate both and the red salmon is indeed red, the other one (grilled - sake) was gray.

There's no indication to keep these onigiri refrigerated, they have no sauces inside and the fish is cooked. There's only written on the package not to expose them to high temperatures and during the flight it was super cold, the same was the climate here from the airport to my house.

For the actual weebs, in Judgment - the videogame - the otaku guy who lives at the internet point in kabukicho keeps gifting Yagami salmon onigiri saying that they last a lot outside the fridge.

I'm not lazy, it's just that I wanted to try the REAL food item from the country which makes them before attempting to recreate it, because I want to taste the food in the most accurate way possible. Also I don't have japanese rice at home.

I will now follow your suggestion and make my own version, without rice because I can't eat cereals and as a matter of fact, after eating that onigiri I had symptoms but who cares, once in a while it's ok. I won't die. Sadly.

Westerners are so fragile lmao, in the Philippines, we cook rice in the morning and leave it out until night.
