I also volunteer 2 hrs. a month for a food package at the local church (Foodshare) and community pantry. So I have 6 months of food reserves plus indefinite vegetable stews.If I wasn't disabled and could work would have 1-2 years reserve. As it is vegetable soups, beans and a carb, pasta dishes, canned and dried meats/hard sausages that keep. PBJ and crackers. I've eggs in waterglass in a closet worth several months.It's a shame socialists used regulations and e.g. destroyed cheap private disability insurance, low-cost private/local healthcare, free private daycare, food giveaway programs by supermarkets, community and front yard food gardens in many places, and so on, or you get penalized for savings to prevent such problems if you seek assistance, but there you have it. The far-left screws it up so they can claim capitalism has failed, then demands more taxes and power. At least Meals-on-Wheels still survives.Check out the local church and see if they have a share volunteer program. Also, Meals-on-Wheels. Plus never too late to plant year-round indoor veggies.
