THE MIDNIGHT MISSION REUNITED! After the biggest surprise comic of the summer - MOON KNIGHT: FIST OF KHONSHU #0 - a new era has taken shape in the Midnight Mission! But what NEW threats and foes are waiting for the REBORN Marc Spector?
>>
bump if you're reading
>>
>>
>>
OP are you also going to storytime the other Moon Knight comic that came out Phases of the Moon Knight?
>>
>>
>>

prolly not i'm gonna get my dick sucked after this
>>
>>
>>
you're welcome to dump it ITT tho

>both sides of the Blade
that's an obscure reference to a Kevin O'niel quote when he talked about Moon Knight while he was Editor at Marvel during the 80s
>>
>>
>>146442508
neat
>>
>>
>>146442339
>>146442351
its kino
>>
>>146442512
Hank Pym's been shown to be alive and then dead so many times it's a bit tiring. Just let the guy be alive and stay that way.
>>
>>146442585
as of the end of Avengers Inc. he's alive
but it seems editorial is keeping it under wraps
too bad it wasn't shown Hank meeting all these people know about him being alive
>>
>>146442451
>Marc being a Comic Nerd after a long time
>>
Well, Fairchild so far is more threatening in two issues than Zeb Wells' Tombstone was throughout his entire run.
It's not really an achievement and I'd need to see more of Fairchild to judge him as a character properly, but whatever chance I get to shit on Wells I guess.
>>
>>146442351
8 ball being badass. Love it.
>>
>>146442381
Never heard of this guy.
>>
>>146443081
he appeared twice in two issues in the 90s and never again
>>
>>146443081
He's a Terry Kavanagh character.
I'd be surprised if anyone has heard of him outside of a half of dozen unlucky people who had to read Kavanagh's run.
>>
>>146443237
Has Terry Kavanagh ever written a good comic? He's like the Marc Guggenheim of the '90s.
>>
>>146442351
Based. I love it when a joke character gets their moment to shine.
>>
>>146443237
that run i think is inside the 90s Moon Knight omnibus that just came out
>>
>>146442766
Probably because MacKay is a better writer.
>>
Thanks for the storytime, OP.
>>
Man these recent Moon Knight runs have been good. I wonder why that is?
>>
>>146444518
Cuz the folks at marvel know I like Moon Knight so they're making sure it's good
>>
>>146444518
MacKay is pretty goated. His Black Cat was great too. Haven't touched his Avengers yet
>>
>>146444518
Editorial doesn't care but the writer and artist do care
>>
>>146444989
I like his avengers well enough but it's very much a team that was given to him by editorial rather than the people he wants as Avengers. His Blood Hunt Tie-Ins were the best issues and that was just this crew fighting Baron Blood for three issues.
>>
>>146442296
justice for my dude Hank Pym, I know he recently got brought back but make him younger and back on the ant saddle.
>>
>>146444989
Avengers is good for what it is as basically a lesser version of Morrison's JLA and the "superheroes as almost mythic archetypes fighting giant threats more than grounded characters engaging in personal drama" thing it had.
>>
>>146442351
fuking radical, 8-Ball getting used in this run was the best thing to happen to him
>>
>>146442504
they actually remembered she had a thing with Hank Pym, that's pretty neato
>>
>>146445526
The Blood Hunt tie-in really did feel like "Everybody knows the Avengers are editor mandated. Here's what I personally wanted to do." and man were they the better for it. More chemistry in those issues than the rest of the run combined.
>>
>>146442339
>>146442351
Does 8-Ball have some sort of super strength? Not sure how he flipped that van over like that
>>
>>146446598
his weaponised pool stick is able to transfer and magnify force so it can shoot manhole covers like a missile or if struck a person would fling them across a room. He used to be a defense contractor and missile propulsion guy so he used that in his explosive pool balls and seemingly unassuming pool stick.
>>
>>146446598
He used to.
>>
>>146446882
>his weaponised pool stick is able to transfer and magnify force so it can shoot manhole covers like a missile or if struck a person would fling them across a room.
That is kinda insanely useful

Even more than Shocker's gauntlets
>>
>>146446928
funny enough 8-Ball 2, who I just assume is 8-Ball 1 pretending to be someone else for a bit to be under the radar since he made a big deal of hiding his identity, is friends with Shocker in Zdarsky's Star Lord. Also yeah that pool stick could theoretically also launch him about for evasion or to get away on top of how inanely useful as a weapon since he could just launch bank vault doors off or gatotsu some cunt into a brick wall.
>>
>>146446206
her son with pym has only showed up the once though
>>
>>146447067
She lets the Cat People raise him
>>
>>146447067
well you mean the Skrull Pym but yeah he's quite ignored, be funny if he met Nadia the other Pym kid he had through very non traditional and out of his control means
>>
>>146446206
MacKay seems to be really good with continuity and using obscure characters. I know Ewing is the one everyone sucks off over it but I feel like MacKay's usage of that stuff is more coherent and feels more like a guy who actually knows the stuff he's using and references and pulls stuff from what he's read vs. Ewing who often feels like he's just trawling wikis and then makes up whatever he wants.

>>146446892
More like Roid-Ball, jesus.
>>
>>146447114
William has met Nadia at her birthday party
>>
>>146447120
Honestly now I want MacKay to do a Hank Pym Ant-man run ever since EMH cemented how much I like him when done well and him being brought up enough in this run but in a clearly balanced and respecting way. Be good timing as got the Marvel Legends Giant-man fig on way to lol. Also yeah him bringing Zodiac from the obscurity of his mini-series and in-universe having it be him just feeling like being Moon Knight's arch enemy is great, I also don't mind what Ewing does since he does bring a cool new spin for characters like Xemnu and Minotaur who became some of my fave villains under his pen.
>>
>>146447141
huh I didn't know that, mainly cause I have absolutely nothing in my heart coming close to care for Nadia, Janet van Dyne was all the Wasp I need like how Hank Pym was the only Ant-man/Giant-man I need...though Rita Demara as Yellowjacket is my fave of the mantle holders if you know me lately lol

aww that's actually nice, Vision is cool but his robot daughter should fuck off and shut up lmao. I am curious how the Skrull genes factor into William here like dos he have any of their benefits, capabilities or what?
>>
>>146447120
Ewing continuity more feels like Ewing remembers certain character from a certain period (namely around secret Wars) as that was when he was introduced to them and then only wiki reads to more recent uses of those characters.
>>
>>146447269
According to AA, he is identical to having a regular human father in terms of genetics.
>>
>>146447631
huh, those cat genes must've pummeled those Skrull genes then. The fact he hasn't got the distinct chin should've said that enough suppose
>>
>>146447631
>>146447704
Supposedly the magical ritual and genetic engineering the Skrulls did for their Invasion locked Skrull Pym's genetics as Pym while shapeshifted as him

Which doesn't really make sense because Skrull Pym was shown using Quicksilver and Vision and Black Panthers powers even when they weren't in Skrull form
>>
>>146447805
I'm sure if some future writer wants him to have shapeshifting as an approximation of his mother's amulet allowing shifting appearance, it will happen anyway. Just claimed to be magic in nature.
>>
>>146447805
Skrull's are fucking weird, cool as hell aliens but they biologically make no sense and easier to just not think to hard on it.
>>
>>146447208
I say this a lot but goddamn I NEED the absolute chaos of a Pym/Maximoff Thanksgiving just imagine it
>Hank trying to not have a breakdown while prepping the turkey
>Janet is drunk and trying to call Alex over from the Annual Summer's Turkey Day Disaster
>Greer brought her new boyfriend who's currently washing some mugger's blood off his white gloves
>Magneto invited himself over despite having no actual family there after getting kicked out of the local Jewish community center so Luna let him in feeling sorry for him but he's now currently drunk and shouting slurs
>Wanda is apologising profusely
>Crystal invited Ronan and Pietro is seething in the corner
>Ultron has just showed up with a perfectly cooked deep fried turkey
>>
>>146448328
If you got Vison involved then by loose association you could have the William's add to the chaos with Simon and Eric's baggage
>>
>>146447067

She had a relationship with Pym during Avengers Acadamy (that just got storytimed)
>>
>>146442504
>>146442512
How is this even a reveal when Hank was brought back in Avengers Inc? The only surprise would be if he isn’t old anymore
>>
>>146449232
The reveal is for Tigra (and readers of Moon Knight) who didn't experience/read Avengers Inc

They're both terrible writers, and continuity wank is all they can offer.
>>
>>146451306
Oh let be have a go, you are a terrible anon and bad opinions is all you can offer. Wow that sure was easy and let's me not even bother to reinforce my point in any way to.
>>
>>146451306
Yet here you are reading this terrible writer
>>
>>146449349
Yeah, the three people who read Avengers Inc. will know.
>>
>>146442267
Marvel couldn't afford to pay the artist to put in the words in the One Way signs?
