Because the evil person is a woman you also can't really make it a commentary on toxic masculinity ala You or Adolescence.I could imagine a loose adaption of "The Hood: Blood From Stones" except the protagonist is a black kid who, when brought along on a bout of urban exploring with a white friend (who is a bad influence) when they find a supervillain deal gone south and the protag steals the cloak. The rest of the plot happens in some Kaiji like contrivance where the friend reveals he's in a gang or something and that the protag is now being blamed for something he is completely innocent of.
