To Caine it symbolised that all powerful, all capable A.I that Caine wanted to be after he was replaced, and him removing the Blue A.I and letting it go was Caine letting go of that idea.I did like that they kept it ambiguous if the Blue A.I was ever sentient or if it was Caine anthropormophising and projecting on to it.
