I find the Squadron Supreme to be kind of an interesting pastiche of the Justice League, most instances of Superhero Pastiches tend to just make them the characters and concepts in all but name. Squadron Supreme is more like an existing universe developing into something that mirrors another, in this case the Marvel Universe's alternate mirror of the DC Universe.
>The Superman equivalent is an Eternal
>The Martian Manhunter is a Skrull
>The Wonder Woman is an Inhuman (kinda)
>One of Kang's least notable aliases is a major villain
>Etc
It would have been so easy to just say Hyperion is a Kryptonian in all but name, and I kinda applaud them for that.

>The Superman equivalent is an Eternal
Since when? I only read the original maxiseries.

Did we ever see an origin story for the original Hyperion? Like how did he come to Earth?
>>
>>154570505
Since they showed up in Quasar, which was also written by Gruenwald.
>>

Ah, okay.
>>

Ok so if you read Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme, Hyperion needed special glasses to see in the aftermath of the battle with his duplicate. Gru continued this the further adventures of the Squadron in the Squadron Supreme GN Death of a Universe, and then into his Quasar series

When the Squadron ended up on Earth-616 again in Quasar's comic, Makkari from the Eternals showed up, sensed that Hyperion was an Eternal and took him to an Eternal teacher who taught him how to heal his eyes and see again

Through meeting the Eternals Hyperion learned that on his Earth all the Eternals had died except for him

No, it was never shown. Hyperion generally assumed he was an alien that came to Earth. It wasn't until he ended up on Earth-616 during the Quasar series that he learned of his true nature

By far the most disappointing comic I ever read.
>>
>>154572729
Why?
>>

Interesting.
Is Quasar a good series?
>>
>>154572729
I liked it.
>>
>>154572877
Kinda good in some parts but I would say crossover events derailed the plot often and the lack of a good artist after Capullo didn't help.
>>
>>154569472
Meh

>crossover events derailed the plot often
Imagine my surprise.
>>
>>154569472
That is kinda neat.
>>
>>154572729
I found it to be a bit of a letdown too. It's very dry. Those first couple appearances are cool stuff, but their own just doesn't cut the mustard.

Has any version of Hyperion gotten a Supergirl equivalent?
