We will never have another gravity falls.
Another Jewish Calarts Cuckshit that’s more about constant /r/eddit humor and moralising than mysteries and was only held up by a halfbaked disappointing “lore” theory?Thank goodness.
>>154572863lightning in a bottle, cant be made ever again op im afraid
>>154572863Good. This shit shat the bed hard.
thank god.
>>154572863I remember back in highschool when I was a huge weeb only watching anime thinking that only gravity falls could actually compare to anime, nowadays? There's not even a single cartoon aside from maybe invincible but that's mostly from the memes not the show itself (which is awful)
>>154572863We'll never have another show with a pretty good season 1 that builds up to a mystery, pays it off with something interesting, and then shits the bed immediately and does nothing with that payoff only to end in a very lackluster way? Cause I feel like that already describes at least four shows that have come and gone since then.
>>154573143We will, but they won't be animations on the west. I still think western live action can pull it off.
>>154572863>We will never have another gravity falls.Thank God
>>154572863But that was the point when Gravity Falls became trash>Soos and Mabel making 4 wall jokes in the most serious and waited moment of the show
>>154574565that fainting joke ruined it for me too anonnot what he seems is such a peak episode but that stupid scene right at the end just ruins it all
We get gay beanmouth shows every year
>>154574565>>154575540i am so on it dude
>>154575717I hate that I can hear this in my head with soos's annoying ass voice
The whole Ford arc feels very lackluster to me. They should've introduced him early on in season 2 and actually given him time to develop as a character, with his and Stan's relationship being the main focus. The second half of S2 and especially Weirdmageddon feel very rushed in general. Part 2 of the latter could've easily been sacked, but I guess Hirsch really wanted people to feel bad for Mabel, because it worked really well especially when SHE was the main cause of the Weirdmageddon in the first place. And the ending with Waddles instantly restoring Stan's memory is just dumb.
>>154574565The bane of millenial writing. Along with "it's right behind me, isn't it?", it's one of the most overused, unfunny tropes.
>>15457286375% of that episode is just dumb humor
>Hirsch's only TV credits since february 2016 are voice acting credits and an executive producer credit (Inside Job)I'm not complaining
>>154576735The harsh truth is that it was always crappy mystery box bullshit. Mind you, the setup is very well executed, but the reveals were always going to be lackluster once the initial shock wore off.
>>154576735I hate the fact that they had a show-within-a-show acknowledging the twin brother was, in fact, a lazy fucking twist.
>>154572863>Smart male lead>Relationship plotlines >Some girls have boobs>DUMB FEMALE LEADAnon that's indeed not allowed anymore.
>>154578316>DUMBReplace that with "quirk chungus", and that's how they get away with it.
>>154578316Lol, do you really believe your green text?
>>154572863>We will never have another gravity falls>Staff on that show all split up and make their own clone of gravity fallsWhy are you such a liar OP?
>>154578316>Smart male leadlol dipper is a punching bag>Some girls have boobsName one>DUMB FEMALE LEADWho is always right, also she's QUIRKYYY literally me
>>154572863Anon we had one just last week when The Doomies debuted on Disney+It pretty much got ignored by everyone since it is not an indie production. So honestly yeah, I don’t think we will never get another GF because Disney cartoons will never get an online following again. That we got another GF that got entirely ignored proves it.
The rage I felt when Hirsch used the grand entrance of Weirdmageddon, the biggest happening of the series, as a shitty Evangelion reference instead of even trying to give the scene it's own unique identity. And that he didn't even reference real Evangelion, but the fucking rebuilds.Otherwise, I think Gravity Falls gets too much hate. For as sloppy as S2B was, the authenticity of its Pacific Northwest setting and novelty of its ARG elements haven't been recaptured since. And getting away with this ambitious a vision under the Mouse House no less.
>>154578347>lol dipper is a punching bagThis right fucking here.No boy who grew up on Gravity Falls or Adventure Time was watching the show saw lame male characters like Dipper and Finn and said..."I want to be THAT LOSER who everything bad happens to!"Gravity Falls is fucking shit. And if you like anything about it, YOU ARE SHIT. And Wendy is a shit character to awaken your puberty, she's a shitty slut. The fact that Wendy is popular with subhuman masturbators and Dipper in-universe wastes so many episodes trying to win the heart of a canon slut was just annoying. Maybe not as annoying as Mordecai from Regular Show wasting many episodes trying to win the love of a slut but its still a shitty cliche, sluts are excrement. These shows aged like already expired milk. They were never good and the less said about others like Infinity Train, Star Vs, or Amphibia the better. I wish cancer on anyone who liked such shitty shows and same to the subhumans who created them.
>>154578593If only R&S-type shows weren't a dying breed...
>>154578380I wanted to like The Doomies, but it’s such a pale imitation of what Gravity Falls did better. Everything I like in a show on the surface except almost never funny and instantly forgettable characters. Good atmosphere at least. It had a very good /co/ thread that stayed up for days, it was not ignored here, don’t be greedy. Also noticed they slipped in Dipper as a background character in the first scene of its first episode.
>>154576735>They should've introduced him early on in season 2 and actually given him time to develop as a character, with his and Stan's relationship being the main focus. The pacing still might've felt off since we had some good build-up that would be chopped off here. The real answer is that Hirsch needed to do 3 seasons like originally planned. I get he was burnt out because he overworked himself on every aspect of the show, but this is still the only answer to have resolved Ford's rushed inclusion.I remember being disappointed how passive his very first episode into the status quo was, the one in your picture. Just a boring dungeons and dragons thing. The idea of them bonding over nerd stuff is fine and the setup of the rift gave it oomph, but it felt so bad mixing his first normal episode in with a cheap episodic idea. Idk
>>154572863>We will never have another gravity falls. How is that a bad thing? Gravity Falls was aggressively mediocre.
Even the first Shrek movie holds up better than Gravity Falls
>>154579311Shrek waly held up.
Alright goobermeisters if making a cartoon is so easy lets see YOU take a crack at it!
>>154578854They did?
>What? Dipper, no! You can’t pursue your dreams, it’ll separate you from Mabel and that’ll make her sad!>What, no! Mabel doesn’t need to change at all, she’s perfect as she is and you’re a misogynist bigot for even suggesting it! No wonder she replaced you with Dippy Freah, you deserve it!
>no season 3, rushed second half of the story>get season 3, but production runs through 2016 and modern politics and stupidity bleeds into the writing morei guess im fine that it ended when it did. female ghost busters came out in july 2016, and was obviously being produced prior. whatever caused the influx of that mindset among californians was really close to happening to gravity falls.
>>154578769Name one that matched the original in terms of success.
>>154572863the episode that cooled me on this show a LOT. did not like it at all.
>>154572863But we did get THE gravity falls. And lived through it too. We are the lucky ones
>>154581758Does Waller-era (current) SpongeBob count?
>>154574565That was one of Soos's weakest moments it's true. but I love him the rest of the time, so
>>154576735that's how memory works. your immediate sensate memories, annoyances etc, are like the appendix holding onto a backup bacterial culture. any scientist working with amnesiacs will back that up.
>>154581402I will never understand how you people think this was the writers saying we should agree with mabelthe show is about how girls get everything for free and boys get shat on. that's life.
>>154582982Wrong
>>154572863>Dipper's character arch ended up with him giving up on his dreams and forced to continue the twin shtick with Mabel and placating her for the rest of his life.Good, we don't need another
>>154572863>We will never have another gravity falls. Sad!
>>154579242Was it?
that's a shame
>>154585704Not really
>>154572863>Dude, Electric Light Orchestra, LMAO
>>154585713Why do you say that?
>>154572863Well, we ALMOST got another Gravity Falls...
>>154583024They really just needed to lean into better reasons why Dipper shouldn't go down Ford's path, instead of having it poorly blend with "the bond of dipper and mabel may be split apart." Both of these are completely good story elements, and at first it was blending fine with a parallel for Stan and Ford, but they really fucked it up right at the end by putting too much "I don't want it to work. I want us to be together always you selfish jerk" into it. It really bugs me that the problem stems from something that could've been fine. Dipper just needed a better reason instead of it solely feeling because Mabel is the master guilt tripper (she banged her head on a pole for months over a pig she just found)
Mabel sucked. Selfish brat almost got me killed.
>>154587310Probably for the betterGravity falls was saved only in early 2010s because disney still cutted down some woke shit
>>154587310I'm intrigued, I dig the artstyle, tell me more
