I remember playing a CYOA "game" which was basically just a kind of checklist. I vaguely recall you were supposed to be entering a kind of competition, where if you made it to the end you'd win a prize corresponding to the limits you've set, and that would include stuff like how you can get fucked, bdsm stuff, but also stuff like body modification etc. I vaguely remember each thing you added supposedly had some effect, though there was no real game there, you just made the choices and it gave you a list of what you chose. In all my time learning programming, I've never actually gotten over the hurdle of how I'd share it or make it look presentable. It's hardly like I can share the raw cs files and expect the end user to compile it like it's a DOS era text based game. I've heard something about JSON, which as I understand, effectively gives you javascript like tools even for nonjavascript code, but I may be misunderstanding-

JSON is just a plain text data format that uses (a subset of) Javascript syntax, it won't help you by itself.

You know that you can compile your C# code to an executable that you can share, right? It will require the user to also install the .NET runtime, but that´s pretty easy. It's main target is Windows, but can be compiled to other platforms.

Just don't expect a huge number of users wiling to download and run some random executable they got from the internet. That's why most porn games are made or compiled to Javascript.

Compile it yourself and include the source code alongside compiled executables if people are paranoid and want to make sure there's nothing nefarious in there. Depending on what tools / game engine you're using your code might end up as a .dll file (Unity does this for example), which is easily decompiled.
JSON is just a data format, conceptually similar to XML, though XML is intended for data storage whereas JSON is mostly used for data transfer over networks.

I'm working on a game about breast expansion and corruption. It's very, very early, but as I continue to develop I'm concerned about what to do when I eventually need art down the line. I was thinking about hiring an artist to solve that problem, but I have a friend who does commission work and I've heard horror stories about artists that are terrible to work with or sometimes just take your money and run. No artist is going to do that unless they're a very close friend. You simply cannot count on that, I'm only able to do this because I'm making the art myself.

Even if you draft up a contract to make sure you own the art, if the artist loses interest in babysitting every little change and addition you want to make then you'll be stuck without anyone to replicate the game's style. Without further ado, if you don't want a game that's a horrible mish-mash of style, I'll present what I think your options are in a following post since it'll hit the character limit otherwise:

Create a design document of all the art specifications. You'll need to specify all sorts of details such as how to draw lines, how to shade, how to render, how to handle transparency and body parts, color palettes. If you have no experience you'd have to hire someone who can handle the art direction. You then pay artists at commercial rates to stick to the style you want and since you'll be paying commercial rates artists will be willing to make the dozens of alts you need. This is expensive unless you find a simple, clean style - no shading / no rendering / pixel art

Re-use art by having art that fits multiple scenarios. Have it so characters will only venture into places where that specific character has relevant corruptions. Have every character run off the same paper doll system. Make scenarios that force/require the player to be corrupted into a certain form.

I've personally found some youtube tutorials by a guy ridiculously named "mikeymegamega" extremely helpful for anatomy construction. I literally didn't know how to draw stickmen, and this has helped me draw basic anime figures -at least with pencil and paper- pretty well, with the usual exceptions of hands and feet that I'm still atrocious at. Some guy named "somenormalartist" also has a bunch of good tutorials about digital drawing and colouring in something like paint 3D that you could look into. It really is all a learned skill and you can get appreciably better at it within days to weeks as long as you keep practicing.

I'd advise anon to download an rpgmaker decryptor and use that to look at how other anons have made games with breast expansion.

A lot of them use layers and connect the layers to a variable that is ticked up by in game actions or metrics.

So there is a like a base image of the MC. It doesn't have tits, or a vagina. Often doesn't have a face. or clothes. There is an image of each breast size. The size is selected by a variable that stores the tit size. The game layers the breast image on top of the base body. The player sees the stacked images as a single image.

Anyway, something to think about. Depending on the scope of the game and the body transformation, they might only need one body drawn, but multiple breast sizes drawn. They could probably get of drawing clothes for each breast size by only showing the player body nude in a bathroom after a shower or something.

Anon, I'd think about the scope of your game and the art assets you need to do it. Then I'd decrypt some games that do what you want, look at their code and assets, then think about your scope again.

I was thinking about thinking about making a transformation game around Hotel Transylvania. Seems like it would be easy enough to throw together. Lots of fan art out there. 4th movie has a transformation ray that you could use to justify transformations.

My thoughts on a premise are that Johnny and Drac want to go on a family vacation but Drac refuses unless they can find a monster, preferably another vampire, to run the hotel while they are away. Johnny, being an idiot, uses a pair of Mavis's panties and the transformation ray to turn a human friend that has worked at resorts into a vampire so he can take drac and mavis on vacation.

I'm thinking the game would be like 12 levels of the hotel, done in chapters. And in each chaptert you solve a problem on that floor. If you solve the problem well enough, or find a secret, you will be awarded another personal item that can be used with the ray to progress your transformation. A normal play through would result in your turning into mavis. If you find secret items you could become a busty thicc vampire lady.

Would probably be "pure end" where you can solve problems without getting the item, or just ignore the problems of your guest, staying mostly human. Maybe even do a play through where you can select a woman as your starting character and become a big manly Frankenstein monster or something.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Thanks for the recommendation. Cowtastic Cafe was pretty good! It seems pretty one dimensional though; once you unlock all the costumes there doesn't really seem to be any extra content or reasons to play other than to speedrun getting better times.
This game is seriously stressful at the beginning because the girl loses smiles more than you can get from serving customers no matter how fast or accurate you are, but at a certain point she gets so happy from being milked, and she generates like 1L every couple of seconds so you literally watch her breasts balloon in real time, I had to literally take breaks from serving customers just to empty her so she wouldn't explode.
There is no loss condition other than her becoming unhappy it doesn't matter how long customers wait for their order or anything. One thing I liked was that the customers watch me milk gallons from this girl and then their little portraits become more and more flustered and their order changes to include more and more breastmilk the more horny they get.
It's over all a very fun and cute game but its not really fetishistic at all because you are so damned focused on getting the orders right that you don't even look at the girl. I don't like the cup fill lines either, they are quite ambiguous and the conical shape of the cup also trips me up. Maybe coloured markers at quarterly intervals would have helped to eyeball things easier? I kept telling myself things like "okay espresso to a little over half then coffee one third of the next quarter ect." Some of these percentages are fucked.
I wouldn't really call this game relaxing or horny since some of the customer orders are just sadistic. The game assigning you classes from traps and similar interactions is intended to be part of the challenge. You're trying to remain "pure" but the only way to get rid of the current headgear or cursed item is to do something lewd. I can see how it can be annoying if you're going for a specific class tho.
One option is to enable starting with headgear in the new game options. The wardrobe in the starting room will have a random headgear in it that you can equip if you want, and cow ears are one of the spawn options. You'd probably have to restart a few times to get it tho. The normal way to get it is to find the milking bench in the dungeon and get milked a few times till the cow ears spawn, or alternatively get creampied by the minotaur while not wearing any headgear.
There's a few cowgirl multiclasses as well: milkmaid (maid and cowgirl), meow cow (cowgirl and catgirl), breeding cow (cowgirl and fertility goddess), cow slave (cowgirl and royal slave), each of which has different mechanics and outfits.
TQ can be frustrating if it's your first time playing it but there's enough content in there that I think it's worth the effort. Should be a big update coming up sometime in the next few days but I don't think it's anything cowgirl related.

eh, I figure all the good smut rpgmaker games own their smutty assets. With something like Hazume of Pregnation, where they replace the random battles with sex, I imagine they paid for the sex artwork. Might have even paid for someone to write the custom script to replace the rpgmaker battles with the sex battles. They probably either made or paid for the pregnancy art and the pregancy script.

But the problem with Hazumi is the original stuff is the whole game. There really isn't much to explore. No story. Not many npcs. The level designs aren't that great.

I was thinking about just modding it, but you'd pretty much have a new game if you actually fleshed out the rest of the game.

I played the fucking fuck out of that game for like 5 years. I've seen and done everything that interests me and even played pregmod too. The content in the game is pretty kino but I feel the game tries to be more of a realistic sim than a fetish game and it can get quite dark at times which are both pretty big turn-offs for me. Like I know having gigantic tits that don't sag is unrealistic and paying more than pennies for a gallon of milk doesn't make sense but it kinda forces you to play a certain way to be economically optimal. I just played Stardew Valley for the first time last year and it was really fun. I really like how the game wears a lot of different hats other than just "farming sim"; like it has roguelight combat elements, market/economy, business management, exploring/secret hunting, and the whole social/marriage thing with the NPC's of the town. The core gameplay loop is essentially
Dive into dungeon -> progress farm -> make money to finance more dungeon expeditions and farm unlocks (that cost huge amounts of money to install/buy so you need to progress the farm to make more money etc.)
It's a really really coherent and beautiful gameplay loop that works great.
Parallels to a hypothetical cowgirl game basically write themselves where some sort of dungeon delving light-rpg subgame feeds into your progression on your cowgirl ranch by unlocking maybe drugs that increase breast size or productivity, or equipment that increases efficiency or eventually adds automation. No one says Stardew' is a combat game but it would be a lot worse if it didn't have the dungeon I think. Cowgirl game should be the same I think.
The only thing I've been thinking of is how to make the actual meat of the game. Like maybe starting of with flat chested lolis and then eventually progressing to massive tits, but if you stretch that out for a dozen hours then CG enjoyers will get bored and leave so you need a different progression matrix than just size, and I don't like magically unrealistic production rates either. I'm kind of ambivalent about what Cowtastic Cafe did with random rainbow milk upgrades like chocolate milk and stuff cause there is also a limited amount of those that even make sense and I'm kinda horny for breastmilk not grape soda or honey whatever.

Funny, I did this exact scenario not long ago. One thing that annoyed me is you can't seem to decide the gender for newly born animals. I wanted a colony where beast pregnancies were 50% human and 50% wolf babies, with humans always being female and wolves always male.
A xenotype gene can set all human babies female, but there's no way to do the same for wolves - they're still a mix of female and male. Happen to know any solution?

Like you could use Character Editor to convert any female newborns to male pretty quick and easy, though having character editor loaded at all always makes it too tempting for me to play super cheaty by editing other stuff when I shouldn't (though you can argue when you're playing for the roleplaying it doesn't really matter how "legit" you're doing it). Hey dev I think one of your fights is a little busted. I set Reine and Lucette to fight a monstrous flower girl, I saw things were going a bit sideways so I also set Elli into the room. 150 turns later and my girls that entered the dungeon with 3 corruption each ended up collecting 81 perm corruption across the three of them. All of them had improved base stats and skills and no curses that effected the fight. I didn't watch the fight because I was already going to reset and just kept slapping the spacebar but she did keep taking root, gaining armor and hp while attacking me. Maybe there is something I missed between the rapid fire of corruption breaks but I would imagine it would take less than 150 turns to defeat a nonboss monster with all of my girls, not to even mention the 6 months of therapy Raine is going to need to get over her aphrodisiac addiction. This shit is on the same level as 'wooden door semen' silly.

I can kiiiinda see how this happened though it would be easier if I could see the numbers from the expanded combat log. The thing with her taking root is that is if your knight's numbers aren't high enough, they aren't going to outpace the 10% max health regen, especially after the damage reduction from her gained armor. No amount of spacebar mashing is going to fix that because your stat numbers are only going to continue getting lower until you get to the point where your knights are getting perma-captive, which will prompt her to switch to teasing as that is her highest priority event. If you're end turning against a monster for 150 turns and it isn't dying, that might be a time to change things up.
That said there's probably still a bug here? She shouldn't do 'take roots' or 'grow thorns' while already thorny, so if she was permanently thorny as a difficulty modifier she shouldn't have done those moves at all, only sticking to aphro pollen and capturing. I'll have to look at it.

Well what pushed me into the position was I sent two girls in and only after about 6 turns did I noticed they were getting captured, so since Raine had Pride I sent Elli in without taking either girl out. I was paying some attention up to turn 20 and then after a couple corruption breaks and coming close to a couple more that is when I just wanted to see what would happen if I just kept slamming space.
Also something worth mentioning is that they didn't go into the room with 99/99/99 injury/exhaustion/lust, they were doing pretty good and weren't going to be better then they already were so if I took this seriously then I wouldn't of had many options to come back to the fight with better stats as I would of already taken the damage I had taken, plus Raine would of left the fight with Pride, and then my only 2 buff abilities that I had would of been irrelevant to the fight so yeah I just went the comical route and reset afterward.
Maybe this is how you want your game to play out idk, I just didn't expect it when my girls went from taking some minor tough fights that maybe left them with a few too many bumps and scrapes to justify dispeling the floor's curse into a fight with the god of ultra hyper death - default flower girl.

Oh and something else I meant to mention was the prepared spell that points out most powerful monster in the dungeon definitely needs to be looked over at some point. I remember it being a good spell in a previous patch, only kind of questioning it once after playing for about 10 floors, but that was a matter of asking if there was one other monster that was slightly worse than the one it chose. This run I've strongly questioned it's choice of most dangerous monster in probably half the floors I entered, one of the picks even being a headstrong gazer, which Raine then hit twice and it died without getting a hit in. Not the most important thing to fix but something to look into when you have the chance.

So Foreboder uses a difficulty stat every monster/trap calculates after generation that is found by finding X such that X is the lowest integer where ceil(Health/X) = ceil(X/Attack or Complexity), which essentially turns out to be "in order to avoid getting hit while defeating this threat, you would need a stat average of X."
Buuuuut some difficulty modifying threat status effects (like headstrong) can't get modeled into this equation properly due to having varying effects and instead just apply flat numbers or multipliers onto the base difficulty of the threat. I have to make those numbers up by just... kinda guessing a number that would be appropriate.
And yeah headstrong giving a 1.25 boost to difficulty is probably wrong.

I downloaded the demo version of the game and then downloaded the latest update. I followed the instructions of extracting the archive and copying the data folder and replacing some of the things in the destination with it, but it won't run now.

Do I have to download all the updates individually in chronological order instead of skipping straight to the latest?

I've also downloaded v.1.4.4 and I'm currently running through it now with no issues, but I know there's more to the game.

how giant is the giant? A giant can be anything from two heads taller than normal to like a Titan. Like big enough that normal creatures could live in your dead skull.

If we're just talking a couple heads taller, you make the giant a berserker and just mash through battles like the hulk.

Free Cities is the big player when it comes to slave trainers, though unlike Slavemaker it's more focused on industrial-level slavery where you're managing potentially dozens of girls rather than just developing a relationship with one. Still very good and worth checking out, the game was abandoned years ago (albeit in a very content-rich state) but has continued to be expanded upon by modders, namely Pregmod (it does more than just pregnancy stuff).

No Haven is also fairly popular though it suffers from the horrendously janky engine it's built in, it's also more so about slave raiding and general banditry than actual slave training, that content still exists but it's usually just as an end to sell the slaves off later.

Strive for Power is probably the most directly similar to Slave Maker, it's been struggling with development issues for years though and I have no idea what the current state is.
