The easy way to put it is that they're great if you like working with 3D printers, but not if you like actually printing.In general for maintenance on all printers:Dust/crud gathering on the rails and the belts wearing out or stretching require regular maint. Dust can be mitigated with enclosures. After you clean the rails you'll have to relube it.Nozzles wear out (the hole gets wider) and depending on the materials can be fast or slower. Materials with abrasive additives such as carbon fibers, stone, or wood will chew a stock brass nozzle up in under a month. Just buy a harder tip up front IMO. A small amount of widening doean't sound bad until you consider that you're working in millimeters of scale so a tip that goes from 0.2 to 0.25 is a pretty big change. Causes issues with over extrusion and creating more serious "print lines" making your print walls go from smooth to a washing board. Bambu only takes their own nozzles to swap to ATM but other printers are open to many other manufacturers.Beds can be damaged if you fuck up when removing prints or if the materials don't play nice, not a common problem but if you're new then maybe buy an extra bed.The heating elements can eventually die. I'm going to let you know up front that it's easier to just buy the replacement part then to try and diagnose what exactly died in them.

You should read about updates before installing firmware updates. I'm not going to go into too much detail here but people often buy dry boxes if they don't plan to use the entire roll in a month. If you live in a really humid area like on a coast then it might be required reguardless.
