Loud too. One place they kinda shine is slapping a 6" diamond wheel on a 4" grinder and having full depth cut all the time for reaching down into places you normally need a brand new full sized abrasive wheel for.

Yes, we all know. Conversely, they last way longer, stay at full cut depth, produce less sparks and dust, and can't shatter. You don't have to pick a team, you can pick the right tool for each cut.

Are they actually any different, or just marketed as a end all be all solution to appeal to monkey brains? I've used my metal diamond blades to cut concrete. Never actually been around one of the "multi wheels" to see if there is any real difference.

This is one of the things I'm wondering.

On the one hand, it's diamond on an angle grinder, it's brutally simple and there shouldn't be much it shouldn't tear through. On the other, you actually see a ton of diversity in things like "tooth" count and hole patterns, dedicated masonry wheels look totally different, there's probably a range of how densely the diamond is packed and different steels will probably vibrate differently, etc. Does it matter? I have no clue
