Obviously, if you're only used to Omega and Seiko, then the finishing on a Moser will be outstanding. There's also the matter of the different levels of finishing. Moser, like Patek and others, doesn't put as much effort into their entry level models as they do on their high end models.Your basic three-hand Endeavour or Pioneer will be finished about as well as a Blancpain or JLC. Once you get up into the tourbillons and calendars, then the finishing becomes worthy of the price.

My watchmaker got my Seagull 1963 to be within 0.5sec per day, though he did explain to me why the quality control was shit. The Venus movement it's based on is excellent, so the movement had the capability to a degree, but the dirt, lack of or excess lubrication, etc. created problems direct from the factory.

THE SOLE PURPOSE OF A CALENDAR IS TO TELL YOU THE DAY, THE DATE AND THE MONTH OF THE YEAR."JEEZ WHAT DAY, DATE AND MONTH IS IT TODAY? I KNOW, I'LL JUST LOOK AT A CALENDAR TO KNOW THAT INFORMATION"IF A CALENDAR - WHATEVER ITS FORM - DOESN'T DISPLAY THE DAY, THE DATE AND THE MONTH OF THE YEAR THEN THIS IS NOT A CALENDAR.THE MEANING OF THE WORD "CALENDAR" DOESN'T MAGICALLY CHANGE WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT WATCHES.THIS IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND.

>>18255073I don't have to, but I figure since you seem to have forgotten the day and month, I'd show you. What perpetual calendar do you have anon? Maybe you can join in with the rest of us posting our perpetual calendar watches.
>>18255054>No they can't.You're not stopping them, you're not stopping anything.
>>18255074nah, the sun is too smug, that's the moon's role
>>18255081>I don't have to, but I figure since you seem to have forgotten the day and month, I'd show you.And to do that you... used a calendar (ie, not your watch).
I had forgotten how quickly these threads go to shit when an avatarfag shows up.
I'm embracing the idea that for everything other than just telling the current time at a glance, just use your phone. Perhaps people just like the aesthetics of different complications and that's fine, but I've realised that I really don't need a date window disrupting the symmetry, let alone chronographs or days or moonphase or any of that.
>>18255076That's a nice pocket watch, fren. Here's my Georges-Favre-Jacot in action. Beautiful movement and stellar performance, not too bad for 140 year old. Cheers.
>>18255097Symmetry is a meme. Fuck it.
>>18255076Good to know. It's listed at $350 on their website so I guess that's my budget give or take. I'm not familiar with many brands atm but I'm currently looking at Citizen watches.>>18255090Idk I like the watch overall but I'm not a watch guy so details like that go over my head.
>>18255097I realized how used I'd become to the date function on a watch only after getting a regular. My monkey brain's been begging me to get no date watches, and when I got 'em, it kept checking for the date.
Dunno why, but the more use of the word "fren" the more it feels sarcastic :-/

>>18255146What do you want me to say? It's a mid watch, it gets a 5/10. I think it's fair.
>>18255150It's one of the few I would have unironically rated 0/10
>>18255149and what would be the same watch with the best strap choice?because for me panerai at least uses its own unique design language instead of just shitting out the same diver copies like other companies do. would never buy one it but it's cool
Thanks 4 the keks r8anon
>>18255152>because for me panerai at least uses its own unique design languageYeah agreed, but that design language basically precludes the use of a bracelet. Putting a Panerai on a bracelet is to make it more like dive watch designs that come much later on than the original Radiomir which was designed to use leather or canvas straps, the Luminor is still based on that same concept and the lugs therefore still designed around a strap rather than a bracelet.
>>18255107Very pretty. Wish the sapphire had the distortion that plexiglass does.

>>18253381>apple watch ultra 2>calls an ambulance if I start dying while wearing itLiterally life saving technology. You are look dysgenic due to no wrist grip strength or chubby.>post ur handI won't, assume I look worse, doesn't matter my watch won't let me die or Apple pays my family $1000. This just shows for most of you buying a several thousand dollar watch is pointless.>>18255063Congrats your wrists looks normal.

>>18255485I also work in an office using my large brain and high IQ, but it's cool you work in da tradez and are destroying your body because it keeps you away from dangerous things like 5G, high paychecks, office wifi, and hot secretaries. I have something to live for, so I take actions to ensure I keep living.

>>18255492I have a mature look, but like I've said the apple watch ultra 2 shows the zoomettes I've still got it. And by it, I mean 'rizz', which is a term you are my age or older and have never heard, or are a zoomie yourself and upset you don't have it.>>18255495It's amazing that working in an office for a high salary is so alien to you that you believe it couldn't possibly happen. >>18255480There was some microbrand with a 38mm auto diver that looked like a modern sears skindiver but I'll be damned if I can remember the name.
>>18255501would make more sense to have minutes on the inside reallybut the whole idea is reading quickly under pressurewhich is also why fliegers were huge watches

>>18255493It's a military field watch dial intended for normies and retards with no concept of keeping time in 24 hour format to be able to get through boot camp and military operations without their NCO's foot entering their rectum.Believe it or not most people cannot get their head around the concept of 24 hour time or tracking different time zones with 24 hour time. It's actually shocking.
>>18255527vostok 120 or smth420 has the best fit and proportions
>>18255530kek that's great.>>18255523Not sure what that means, I've heard it but never amongst the zoomettes.>>18255514Often, but not right now.
>>18255507Fliegers weren't just huge because of pressure, it was because even if you are not fighting little prop driven planes of the time would bounce and drift around all over the place due to wind and turbulence. Wearing a normal watch with little indexes would make it way harder to read when your head and arms and body are swinging around all over the place AND you're trying to keep your plane flying straight.
>>18255536idk the 420 is kinda boring which is why I went for the 71 pillow case
>>18255537ong this person does not fit the vibe cuhohio
>>18255541thanks history man
>>18255544The reason you don't get zoomettes is you talk like this. You need to have a more millenial humor to get them. Show them some 2000s memes (scumbag steve, foul bachelor frog) and they will love it. These are vintage memes from before you were born.Think of it how some zoomettes will like nirvana and shit, these memes are the equivalent of that.
