As someone who doesn't give a shit about fashion but wants to look presentable what are some good jeans for men that aren't too baggy and don't look like they're from the early 2000s but neither skinny jeans, which shade of blue is best for a work enviroment, and should I also get black jeans since I want to get more than 1 pair? I don't want anything that looks gay or too showy. I typically wear 32 inch both length and waist.

What you want is straight fit jeans, in dark wash blue, and yes, black. Dark wash looks the most dignified and professional. You can also get one in ecru/beige for that khaki look. Straight fit is a timeless cut and also comfortable without being overly baggy.

Choose one
Levis 511
Something from A.P.C, probably Petit Standard
Eytys Cypress
Acne 1996

>which shade of blue is best for a work enviroment
It depends on what you mean by work. A safe option is darker is better, but I'd say that black or dark grey is better than blue overall. Try to buy 100% cotton if you can. Many brands will offer cheaper alternatives that use 2% elastane for comfort but ultimately this is uncomfortable especially if you're sitting down alot. Make sure you look at the physical measurements of whatever you buy, not the 32x32 size or whatever.

If he's going to sit down a lot then slim fit (like 511) is not what he needs. It will be crushing his crotch the entire time. The same reason why I hate wearing slim fit while traveling. It's hell to sit in them for hours upon hours. He needs something like regular or straight fit.

Doesn’t it fade like raw denim?

Wrangler's 13mwz dark wash indigo. Don't get black jeans.

That's the price you pay for wearing jeans. If you don't want raw denim like fade patterns then get them in lighter weights and wash them regularly so that they fade evenly. Which is why he should just wear regular trousers or chinos if his work doesn't involve any physical labor. No reason to wear jeans to work unless you are a blue collar worker.

I'm going to be pedantic but>>18409206
is only partially right.

Raw WILL fade with wear, that's reality. But:

1: Dark wash and raw are different things. You can get dark wash jeans that aren't raw and they won't fade as fast, but they normally won't be as well made or look as good as raw jeans.

2: Not all raw jeans are created equal. Some are fast faders, some are fucking slow as shit and only fade with incredibly heavy use. If you want more info I'll go on a full autist rant but if you look for raw jeans with words like "overdyed" they often have heavy color saturation so they take way longer to fade.

3: Washing helps jeans fade. You'll see guys try and wear jeans for months without washing so when they finally do wash, they get high contrast, high intensity fades.

If you want to postpone the fades for as long as possible, dry clean your jeans. This way they'll be clean but they won't be exposed to water and the fades won't show up as fast. This won't completely eliminate fades but it will buy you some time.

Ideally if you don't like fades you'd rotate multiple pairs of jeans. But if you want pants that don't fade, buy chinos, wool, moleskin, corduroy, etc.

You want raw Japanese selvedge denim in a straight cut. My recommendations are the Iron Heart 634s in 21oz if you want heavy jeans or the TCB 50s if you want midweight. If you're poor just get some wrangler 13mwz in whatever they call raw.
>>
>>18408948
Just get Levi's 501 shrink to fit jeans. Don't fall for the Wrangler meme. I did recently and the fabric and construction were so shit that I returned them immediately.
>>
>>18409586
TCB 50s fit like literal garbage bags. Shit-tier jeans.
>>
>>18409590
This board is full of Wrangler shills, they get paid for this. They're usually subhuman trolls and get banned after resorting to racial slurs if you reply that you don't want larpy cowboy jeans.
>>
>>18408948
sugar cane 1947, boring fit but can't go wrong with it

>>18409621
Lmfao recommending the pointy ass jean. Wild.
>>
>>18409611
>larpy cowboy jeans
They're just normal jeans, except with smaller back pockets that are placed higher so they don't make your ass look flat and droopy like Levi's and other mall brands do.
>>
>>18409611
I don't think there are actual paid shills. They probably just shill Wrangler because it isn't "woke" like Levi's or because Levi's has been more of a fashion brand than a workwear brand for the last ~60 years. Despite both of those things, Levi's offers way better garments than anything Wrangler makes. The Wrangler 13mwz I bought were one of the lowest quality garments I've touched in my life. Even shitty jeans from Gap or Old Navy are unironically better.

The reason people here don't shill Levi's is because of this. Vintage Levi's can be good if you know what to look for, or many of the nip brands that make vintage Levi's repros, but if you just want to go to the mall and get a pair of jeans that will fit well and cost less than $100 like most people not into fashion do, Wrangler's 13mwz is the thing.
