Brothers in (strong) arms:

there is a used HR-2M available in my area for $250 https://www.roguefitness.com/rh-2m-rogue-hyper-3x3-mount-6747

besides the obvious, are there any other exercises that I can do utilizing this piece of equipment? it's not a lot of money, but idk if it's worth it for one exercise and how much real estate it would take up

what other creative movements can I do on it, or is it better to just DIY it for less $$? Or, is there another way to perform hypers at home?

what's a good intermediate program that incorporates ohp? ideally ohp and bench both twice a week, doing that now and they both respond well

Bullmastiff has you do volume ohp on your bench day and volume bench on your ohp day if I remember correctly. It's pretty easy to do on any program that has one main lift a day like 531 bullmastiff etc

>Who the fuck does that?
yea, it's dumb. but the reasoning makes some sense. you're able to adjust the recipe by preferred macro percentage and then you're supposed to select from the drop down how many meals you plan to make for that recipe. so the ingredient list is based off the portion size for the calorie/macro count and not the other way around. also, it creates a weekly shopping list of all you need based off the meals and portions selected. I never did that. I just screenshotted the recipes and canceled the free trial (the noses know)
>Thanks for the recipe tho. I do appreciate it.

THREADLY, RELEVANT, and HIGH QUALITY REMINDER for you unlifting ANON CHODEs to post body/lifts and get a trip. Tripping is the only way anyone will believe anything you have to say about anything. And only if you demonstrate at least one of the following:
>A squat in excess of both 2.5 times bodyweight AND 500 lbs
>A deadlift in excess of both 2.5 time bodyweight AND 500 lbs
>A bench press in excess of both 1.5 times bodyweight AND 350 lbs
>A LMAO4PLAET or greater row from the ground
>A Log "Press" of at least 240 lbs and 1.15 times bodyweight
>A front squat equal to or greater than LMAO4PLAET and 1.75x bodyweight
>A body that /fit/ won't roundly criticize (good fucking luck)
If you can't manage at least one of these, shut the fuck up, go to the gym, and try harder

UPDATED LIST OF PLG APPROVED ACRONYMs (Arcane CipheRs Of Never Yielding Masculinity). Post, but don't spam, in every thread.

>GDE (Genetic Dead End)
Exercise low-responder. High injury rate, no sports background, weak willed.

>OGD (Obese Genetic Dud)
A GDE that tried to cope by getting fat. Did not get stronger. Look at him and laugh.

>SUMO (SUbhuman MOron)
Too stupid and/or genetically deficient to just bend over and pick something up. Copes through a combination of clowning half reps and eating butt.

>UFO (Under Fed Organism)
Adult human male weighing less than 200 lbs. Throw food at them until the problem is remedied.

>VOLEM (Voluntary Evermediate)
Late beginner, early intermediate. Panics when the bar gets heavy. Program hops, works on technique, or sabotages recovery as an excuse to not progress.

>BONER (Bench Only No Effort Retard)
Wants to have the admiration and ego of someone who lifts, but doesn't want to get the squat or deadlift of someone who actually lifts. Copes with a combination of bench press and autism.

>LARPER - Lamely Accessorizing Retard, Performance Essentially Rubbish
Wants to be a powerlifter without actually lifting or trying hard. Buys $800 in clothes and accessories to dress the part. Stuck at a 400 kg total. Widely loathed.

>FAGIT (Freakishly Adept Genetically, Incredible Total)
Strong from birth, never had to work for it. Still works at it, just to ULTRA MOG GDEs even harder. Hated by everyone, but they can't really do anything about it.

>JANITOR (Just ANother Ineffectual Twig, Obviously Retarded)
Complete assclown and permanent virgin.

>TCHAD (Tries Consistently Hard All Day)
The Isleys, MAs, and other guys with average genes who actually like competing and getting stronger.

>TWIT (Third World Idjit Tard)
Smelly unAmerican FOREIGNER who lifts in the futile hopes it will make him matter like AMERICANS matter (The Italian's back)

I did squats/bench and accessories on Monday after two weeks away from the gym visiting family. I had the strength to do all my prescribed reps but the DOMs are ungodly, I've been semi goose-stepping like a retard all week. I have to do deadlifts today and I'm still not recovered, my legs are still sore.

Should I do them anyway? I don't care about the pain, or the fact that I'll almost certainly fail to do all reps, but I don't know if it will be detrimental to push through deadlifts when I haven't even recovered.

True. But what if I did an amrap that amounted to 5 reps? So an rpe10 1x5. How would that compare to doing 3x5 rpe10? Sure the latter May have more volume but the former has more intensity. If I'd so 1x5 rpe10 then of course I'd compensate with a lot of accessory work to compensate for the "lack" of rep work.
In other words? 1x5 vs 3x5?
Also if I'm doing LP on an amrap, wouldn't I eventually get to an amrap set of 5 (or less)? It'd get harder so less reps.

>But what if I did an amrap that amounted to 5 reps? So an rpe10 1x5
The idea with a LP is not to go full RPE10 on the first session, you would build up your way to a RPE10 session and after that optionally deload and lower the weight back down to work your way up to RPE10 again.
>Sure the latter May have more volume but the former has more intensity
Comparing RPE10 1x5 vs RPE10 3x5 the 3x5 has more volume and equal intensity, since the RPE10 set would be the final set and would basically be the same as the RPE10 1x5. The 3x5 has the added benefit of more volume at lower RPEs in the previous sets. But in any case like i said it's not a good idea to go full balls to the wall right away, you work your way up to it and then deload, lower the way and work your way up again
>If I'd so 1x5 rpe10 then of course I'd compensate with a lot of accessory work to compensate for the "lack" of rep work.
Yeah, if you do that then it's fine
>Also if I'm doing LP on an amrap, wouldn't I eventually get to an amrap set of 5 (or less)? It'd get harder so less reps.
Yeah true, you could see the sessions of above 5 reps as a way to increase work capacity and hypetrophy and work your way up to lower rep sessions for strength specific work

I swear paused *insert anything* is the magical trick to unfuck lifts for intermediate lifters. My squat felt shit, my deadlift felt inconsistent. Replacing volume squats with paused squats and adding in another alternate pull day where you do paused DL fixed it. Idk why most novice programs (I am intermediate) tell you to DL once a week and squat x3, to DL proficiently you need practice it just like in a squat, it shouldn't be an after thought where you go do 5 terrible reps in a top set once per week.

I can not believe I went through that whole comp Saturday and the whole day after feeling great then my back just kills itself sitting at the lunch table on Monday. I slept 13 hours Tuesday and called off work because I couldn't get out of bed. I had to ask the dyels at work to move 40lb equipment around for me and they all made fun of me for "hurting yourself eating." I wanted to go in and max push press since I did exactly ONE (1) press on Saturday but now the peak is gone and I still can't stand up straight for very long because these back spasms last a damn week minimum. And then I saw on Instagram that the lady who smashed her face at the Arnold just jerked 375 on an axle off blocks so now I have to hit at least that much to continue to claim to be stronger than all women. 5pl8 bench arc starts next week.

Your yoke has really improved and definitely not ideal with the wrist wrap situation on axle. All a good learning experience. Was that the biggest show you've competed at?
>DL max
Best was 275kg on a deadlift bar over a year ago. I hit this 2x280kg on this stonebar at nationals in March but the bar bends so much it's basically slack into a block pull. Lately I've been doing powerbar deads since comp will have a max calibrated powerbar deadlift. I've had recurring back/glute injuries since last year and most of last year was deadlifting in a suit and hitching which has stunted it but working with my new coach has been working well to fix my form. New position feels good and doesn't hurt my lowerback but will take some time to get stronger in that position.

>Your yoke has really improved and definitely not ideal with the wrist wrap situation on axle. All a good learning experience. Was that the biggest show you've competed at?
yes by a long shot. I think that taking some more time than usual between shows made it easier to get a lot more strength but made nerves a lot worse.

>>74688349
>can be useful on yoke
They are more of a hinderance than help since they restrict movement and bloodflow. They only help if it's crazy heavy where even picking it is hard or if you have old/shit knees. But i think he should get a pair, it's not common but squats do come up in comp.
>>
>>74688366
>700 is a long way off potentially impossible without super creatine at this bw. I'm chasing 300kg/661lb
I just can't believe you can do the yoke and stone weights you do but can't deadlift 300kg already.

>wraps
I wouldn't use them for yoke anyway. Mainly just to direct squat force differently, away from knees especially and to overload.

Am I just supposed to accept the fact that my presses and bench won’t advance a fucking kilo when I’m cutting 1-2lbs per week? I’m a beginner and basically just doing 3x5s like SS every time I go. My presses were going up initially during my cut but they hit a wall and I’m lucky to gain a rep per session. My squat and deadlift is still going up slowly but I feel like all my energy is going to those. 215 to 190lbs right now, 5’10. My press is stuck at 1pl8 3x5 and my bench at 1.5pl8 3x5.

overhead focus rather than bench obviously, and squats should be programmed to assist deadlift instead of for their own sake. possibly, I find that cranking the straps on my EA sleeves can cause some bicep discomfort if I wear them too long. If you're just throwing them on for the event and taking them back off I don't think it's the problem. Are you doing your hammer curls?

I had a realization recently that there is nothing preventing me from just resting more and keep doing more sets, I now do duolingo for 3-6 minutes between sets and end up going for like 10+ sets even on accessory lifts. I just go until I’m not able to do over 6 reps. What are the downsides of this? I like hanging out at the gym doing my duolingo and lifting for three plus hours so time is not an issue.

>>
>>74692234
what language are you learning? u are probably getting diminishing returns on 10+ sets though
>>
>>74692311
I’m learning Spanish and Chinese, since those are the most commonly used after English. I wonder what is the ideal number of sets, every program recommends 3 sets of 10 or so for accessories, but that must mean leaving so much gains on the table since I can keep going much longer.
>>
>>74692234
>What are the downsides of this?
If time isn't a concern, nothing. No need to limit yourself to an arbitrary set/rep range. Just do as much as you feel like.
>>
>>74692234
You will at some point run out of steam but yeah 10 sets is definitely still doable.
>>
Talking about equipment, any euro brands for sleeves? I dont wanna overpay for sbd and i know americans have shitton of great brands that are the same quality but half the price of sbd.

Wayyy too sore to work out today. Big lad had the same thought. I guess maybe I could do legs cardio? Too hot outside but maybe treadmill indagym later. Seeing Longlegs in 20min. I've been hyped for this thing for way too long. I love drugs! Can't reduce c****ine or n****ine or the sad head voices come back. But I'm getting better at training through it. Yep, that's me. I'll bet you wonder how I got myself into this situation. It all started when I decided to try progressing my squat a week after my first lumbar strain.
>>
>>74692905
What a weird squat, its lowbar but you keep your arms and squat like its high bar
>>
>>74692936
Looking at it, it may be a tiny bit lower than I usually have it. If it was truly low bar, I wouldn't be able to have a full grip on the bar in the middle of the knurl, right? Wouldn't that require unusual mobility?

Well shit, I got an MRI and it turns out it wasn't a TFCC injury. I actually broke my wrist like a month ago. I have a distal ulnar fracture, the doctor told me not to lift, but honestly, it's the only thing I have. So whatever, I'm gonna keep lifting and bulk so that it heals faster. Luckily the injury doesn't bother me at all when doing the powerlifts (except some accessories).

For the love of God (the Christian one) Bobby, stop the meme shit. Start cutting out everything in your diet that didn't come out of the ground or moved around in the past month. If there's more than a simple preservative in the product, you don't buy it and ingest it.
Cut all alcohol and drinks with sugar. This alone without counting anything will make you plummet in body weight. Unless you purposefully pick the fattiest meats possible and gorge yourself on nuts, you probably won't need to count anything or go walk hungry at all.

why does back rounding mean butt wink? can your back not round because of lack of coordination, weakness in the upper back, or hip mobility?
>>
>>74695933
Can you fucking read? I said that you can not diagnose poor hip mobility based on that alone clip. It could be many different things. It could be accidental misgrooving, it could be fixed by mere cueing, it could be his physiology not allowing this kind of setup. He's got long femurs, is narrow stanced, and is not squatting low bar. Changing up those latter two would probably create more room at the bottom already. Your idea that any body can reach squat depth without slight lumbar rounding is fucking stupid. Your idea that all minor rounding is inherently dangerous is also retarded.
>>74695944
What the fuck do you think butt wink is? The cause doesn't matter. It simply refers to lumbar flexion at the bottom of the squat. You're asking why back rounding means back rounding.

Now you either admit you're giving advice while you shouldn't or you post your squat before asking more stupid questions. Otherwise this conversation ends here.

hes rounding on the way down to compensate for the lack of hip mobility he has, never said anything about his depth

if it was core/upper back weakness he would round on the way up

doubt its a coordination issue because hes clearly been squatting for a while if hes in the low 400's

>It could be accidental misgrooving
do you think he 'misgrooved' the exact same way twice?

>He's got long femurs, is narrow stanced, and is not squatting low bar. Changing up those latter two would probably create more room at the bottom already.
can he not also improve his hip mobility?

>Your idea that any body can reach squat depth without slight lumbar rounding is fucking stupid.
its not, anyone can reach depth without rounding if they have enough mobility

>Your idea that all minor rounding is inherently dangerous is also retarded.
never said it was dangerous, if he fixes it he can squat more. better technique means more weight lifted
>>
>>74696003
>its not, anyone can reach depth without rounding if they have enough mobility
Can you please, please read? Most people can reach depth without lumbar flexion (some rare unlucky cases aside), but that still requires a setup that fits your physiology. And like I said, he's got long-ish femurs, and is squatting narrow stanced and high-ish bar, you absolute dumb fuck. You're arguing that anyone could squat heels touching if they just le stretch le mobility enough. And you think that because you're a dyel that watched some stupid short about "le buttwink? try stretch!" Hence you being so afraid of posting your own squat.

And even if some mobility gains are on the table (which is not the first thing you'd try to change in this scenario), you simply can not watch that singular video and say "yup... that 100% be some stretching, watch squat university!" That's the entire point. You're a confident dyel.
>>
>>74696121

why can you only make strawman arguments?

>You're arguing that anyone could squat heels touching
never said anything even close to this. anyone can reach powerlifting depth with adequate mobility. also, i never even said i had a problem with his depth

>And you think that because you're a dyel that watched some stupid short about "le buttwink? try stretch!"

>"yup... that 100% be some stretching, watch squat university!"
dont know what your problem is with squat university. i dont get my information from him though

>they just le stretch le mobility enough
i'm guessing you have no idea how to develop mobility if youre making this comment. you have to stretch and squat with the extra rom, using lighter weights to develop the strength in that particular range. would a person who normally ohps with a close grip be able to ohp with the same (relative) weights if they tried doing a wide grip?

just stretching is not going to do enough. it takes a ton of time but anyone can do it if theyre consistent with it

pony clearly isnt a really heavy guy either so i dont think its his physiology

>Can you please, please read?
ironic

why are you so upset? all i suggested was that improving his hip mobility would benefit him. do you disagree?
