Is there any point in lifting if I can only get 6 hours of sleep a night?
>>
>>74683220
Idk, i barely sleep either, shit is fucked
>>
>>74683277
Same here, its making me wanna fucking die

Have you tried closing your eyes?
>>
>>74683302
Have you tried deepthroating my bbc?
>>

You're definitely fucking yourself over. 9 hours+ is like steroids. I'm not a big fan of studies but one showed that people getting 5-6 hours gained fat and lost muscle and people getting 8-9 hours gained muscle and lost fat. The critical part was that it didn't matter if they were in the caloric deficit group or the bulk group. Either way, the sleepmaxxers got gains and the Six hour Samuels got fat. Use a sleep mask, no screens for an hour, read a book, force yourself to go to bed earlier, force yourself to go back to sleep if you wake up. I did it, you can do it too.
>>

I literally cannot get more than 6 hours
>>
>>74683321
Well that sucks, I think it's still worth lifting but you should try and maximize your sleep quality with some gay sleep app bullshit or something.
>>
>>74683220
Lie down a lot. Sleep is brain rest, being horizontal and still is body rest.

>t. Weed addicted, eats greasy slop, 0 cardio, doesn't manage stress, 3 hours in traffic daily
A healthy young man should not be losing sleep unless you have legitimate insomnia, which you don't.

Chronic insomnia sufferer here, post sauce. I know I'm fucked just want to know how much and if I should get back on ambien.

I'm a neet, i do cardio and i can lay in bed without sleeping for hours
>>
>>74683370
I eat clean and dont do drugs
I've been suffering with acute insomnia for the past few weeks. I wake up after 4 hours every fucking night and am unable to fall asleep for another 1.5 hours or so. I then get about 2 hours of shitty fragmented sleep after that. It sucks
>>
>>74683277
Same, been like this for years now.
>>
>>74683394
>for years
Holy fuck, why even live if this shit is gonna last for life
>>
>>74683384
Are you cutting and/or overreaching in your training? Deload/light week, maybe eat maintenance calories, let your CNS recover.
>>
Does it count as sleeping more than 6 hours if I also take lots of naps
>>
>>74683313
The trick is to eat so much you can't lose muscle and to lift so much you're always synthesizing protein until you can afford 1/8 a day to sleep again.
>>

>Are you cutting and/or overreaching in your training? Deload/light week, maybe eat maintenance calories, let your CNS recove
i got hard 5x per week and the insomnia only kicked in after ~4 weeks of this. im a total beginner and only started lifting 5 or 6 weeks ago
>>
Start meditating and get off your fucking phones.
>>
>>74683422
Do legs and cardio less for cns
>>
>>74683422
Every serious program has a built in deload week approx every 5-7 weeks. Not beginner programs though but in this case you should do it anyway. Theres different ways you can approach this but one common one is to just do a big deload week where you pretty much lower your weights on all the lifts by 30-40% and maybe lower volume a bit too. So say you were squatting 4x5x225lbs on a hard week, on the light week just do 3 sets of 5 with 145 lbs and thats it. Same shit on the accessories and other lifts, drop the weight, maybe do a set or two less. Have you been eating on a surplus?
>>
>>74683441
Ok about phones, but how does meditating help?
>>
>>74683452
ill try that thanks man
and ive been eating at maintenance
>>
>>74683400
Yes
>>
>>74683381
>I'm a neet
That explains it. The dread and anxiety that comes from neeting is enough to fuck your sleep up. I know because I was one for years.
>>
>>74683519
I'm a neet... now, the insomnia started back when i was working a year ago
>>
>>74683422
Try 3 times a week dipshit. There's no reason to lift 5 times a week unless you're roiding or you are elite level.
Have you seriously not considered this might be the reason why you're knackered?

I just thought overtraining was a myth unless youre doing like 4 hours a day for a year or something
I always thought I was indestructible ... guess not. I'm only 20

Personally I've just given up, I've simply accepted that I will spend the entirety of my life in a sleep deprived state.
>>
>>74683482
LET'S FUCKING GOOOO
>>
>>74683220
>tfw work night shift 3x a week and can only sleep 2-4 hours after a shift
I'm screwed aren't I?
>>
>>74683277
>>74683300
Same. I slept 0 minutes last night. It's been over a month of continuous insomnia but I've had it on and off for years. I start thinking about kms.

My cut got totally fucked up. 5 weeks at a 650 deficit. Just got belly fat and somehow gained weight.
>>
>>74683422
obvious overreaching is obvious
take a break
>>
>>74683220
i slept around 7.5-8ish hours last night. but i got up to pee like 4 times. still feel great this morning.
every night i will take zinc, magnesium, and occasionally 1mg melatonin if i need it. I lift and do cardio most days.
>>
>>74683302
Wow Melissa, what a great idea, so if I'm tired I just should try closing my eyes?
>>
>>74683220
>wake up after 6 hours
>still tired
>go back to sleep for another 3
it's that easy
>>
>>74684659
No it is NOT!
