I don't see any glaring downsides to using a light band or a couple chains to make every lift more difficult as it nears lockout. It seems like a no-brainer method to actually get maximum contraction, muscle recruitment, etc which should reasonably lead to getting the maximum necessary growth stimulus much quicker.

You don't want too much bar spin on a powerlifting bar so needle bearings aren't ideal.

But we do have 2 (two) high quality Rogue powerbars that all of the serious lifters try to use (we've developed a method for sharing them or keeping tabs on them for when a regular comes in and needs it). for my bodyweight a 250lb conventional squat is pretty abysmal by competition standards so I need to improve it by my next meet in December. I'll be competing in the 132lb weight class.

Bench is my strongest lift - I got white dots on 170lbs last meet. My DL is ok - white dots on 315lbs and can hit 325lbs in the gym. I'm just on ye olde strugglebus when it comes to squatting.

Oh boy, the silly volume of calf raises may be the culprit then. I've never had much issue with tight hamstrings, but tight hip flexors may be a possibility. I'll cut the volume down a lot and see if that fixes things in the medium-to-long term.

I'm just destined to never do any leg accessories/isolations it seems. Anything other than squats and leg press make my knees explode after a couple weeks.

I would say you're too fast in the first pull, your contact point isn't bad but the bar is moving too quickly into the second pull that it's throwing you off and you end up jumping forward as you're doing your turnover. Best diagnosis for these are no foot (no jump) cleans combined with below the knee hang cleans which will allow you to get used to triple extension without too much speed.

im not sure if theyre flats are like it, but reo adjustable benches are really tacky materials. around 230-250 for flat

What's necessary is a change in lifestyle. That includes a complete overhaul of dietary habits. No meme fasting or diets. Very few people are able to do a U-turn like this and must in stead gradually change habits until they stick. If you followed a ~2000kcal diet of only lean meats, vegetables and potatoes while sitting on an air bike half assing it 3-4 times a week in addition to lifting like normal you'd plummet in weight.
