Hey folks, Is a weight vest for pushups worth it? I'm thinking an adjustable one where you can add up to 30kg of weight. The way I see it, pushups are neat for involving more muscles compared to bench press variations, and I just see it as more functional and also that it's something I can crank out once a week as a compliment to dumbbell- or bench press. But maybe the real effect is that they turn to shit real quick. What say you?
I do decline push-ups with weight vest (+35lb) at home, just to add more volume or on days I don't go to gym. The annoying thing is that the weights in the front reduce the ROM unless you use handles (like paralellettes) or bricks or something to elevate your hands above the floor. There is really no point to doing normal push-ups with a weight vest rather than decline push-ups, but once you can do, say, 20+ decline push-ups, it makes sense to add weight.
>>75466338Thanks. Hadn't considered declines. I saw a good price for one with capacity of 30kg. So will probably go for that. Oh and I have those handles so I think that will help with ROM.

Yeah that's fine.>The way I see it, pushups are neat for involving more muscles compared to bench press variationsThat's retarded and even if it was true you can still load much more weight on barbells.
>>75466258Just put the dumbbell on your back dummy
>>75467692Don't do this, atleast put it on a back pack.
