Okay...

Bear with me, I've got a lot on my mind.

Shadowboxing, the act of fighting people in your imagination as a form of exercise, what are its benefits, how can you maximize the effect of shadowboxing and the gains from it, and what would be considered taking it too far.

Do you have to keep it realistic and practical or can you branch out into more fantastical areas while shadowboxing, such as doing melee finishers on your enemies, pretending to charge up a SUPER meter, taking a stimulant, use a weapon, shoot guns, etc...

How long should you shadowbox for during your workout and what would be considered impractical shadowboxing or shadowfirefights or shadowkillings or whatever.

Sometimes I like to go outside in my neighborhood at night and pretend I'm a part of an elite military squad and I'm killing terrorists or zombies.

l'll think up an imaginary loadout for me and my imaginary squadmates, and give myself imaginary objectives to complete, such as plant a bomb on an enemy anti-aircraft gun undetected, or clear a sector out of special infected, etc...

If you catch me shadowboxing like this at night, you'll hear me running around tactically and pretending to communicate with a team of elite soldiers, making suppressed gunshot *tshh tshh* sounds and stuff.

Sometimes when I'm walking from place to place, I'll think up banter between myself and my squad mates.

Sometimes I'll even increase my immersion by wearing sound proof headphones, tactical gloves, a vest, etc...

Anyway I digress, what's the best way to shadowbox, and is it worth it for gains?

As I said in the other thread, shadowboxing is for technique and footwork, not for fitness

I'm only reposting because I didn't get enough insight last time.

the best way to shadowbox is to pick 3-5 techniques you want to drill and just repeat them in various combinations, first two rounds of it being done at normal speed, then two rounds going as slow as possible, try imitating slow-mo footage, then two rounds as fast as you can try imitating dbz, and then for the end again two rounds doing it normal speed. Rounds and breaks should be standard boxing time, so three minute rounds with one minute breaks between.

oh yea OP, seems like you might be suffering from maladaptive daydreaming (I had it as well) because it sounds like you are escaping into your imaginary worlds for some reason. Try talking to a therapist, or a priest, or whatever to try and sort out the problems pushing you into narnia

Yeah it's cause I don't have a gf.

I also suffer from that. I think I just cannot face reality. I should have died ten years ago.

Can be a good form of cardio if you do it for long periods, a lot more fun than running

Its bad practice which unlearning takes much more time, I can see it being useful for if you miss a punch sure but I'll throw a miss then hit the bag say while it's swinging at or away from me.

>you're bad and an idiot
You'd waltz right in to spar me but i trained karate as a kid and have at least 100hrs on the bag this past year like i dont know what kind of anime mystical shit you're gonna pull off.

saw a guy shadow golfing in the squat rack last week. What lifts help you golfmaxx?

Tracking is an important concept because shitmonkeys attack in packs. Basically don't let one of them get behind you. If they split up create distance so both of them stay in front of you and within your field of vision. Best case scenario you get them to cross paths and push the one in front into the other behind him taking them both down at once.

Same lifts that help you play baseball, because in both sports, you're essentially swinging a stick at a sphere and hitting, same with hockey, lacrosse, cricket, pool, etc...

I'd rather fight a pack of shit monkies than one big, experienced fighter, it can date all the way back to the caveman question "do man want fight lot wolf pack at one time, or one wolf but wolf big bear and strong scratch and bite" I'd fight the wolves, that way I'm not getting torn apart by a bear.
