>I wanna workout whenever the fuck I want but have to explain it in a way so I don't look like the lazy piece of crap I am

I got you senpai

Mentzerfags are the worst. People don't realize but he was basically what you would call a grifter these days. He built his physique doing the same thing every other bodybuilder in his era did, then after he retired, he told gullible idiots that want to see results without putting in the work, and idiots flocked to him for personal training sessions which was just his way to extract money from people to feed his meth addiction. He was on copious amounts of steroids, addicted to meth, and advocated for drinking, and died at the age of 49. Just say you don't like going to the gym.

without putting in the work that they could look like him working out twice a month*
>>
>>75516894
If you don't die from bodybuilding it means you held it back. Arnie is a massive faggot, he said he'd do anything to be the best and he didn't even die young
>>
>>75516921
Meanwhile people like Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman or Kevin Levrone built physiques that put Mike Mentzer to shame and yet are doing fine, being alive much longer. He retired at 29 despite some bodybuilders winning their titles in late 30s, never won any titles, and died young.
>>
>>75516952
they had later gen drug stacks. Also I think Cutler was very much prepared to die in training before his comeback title

>Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman or Kevin Levrone
All in the HGH era when bodybuilding became about eating big to get big as the Insulin + HGH combination allowed you to grow more just from eating more.
>Ronnie Coleman
>doing fine
Isn't he a cripple now from overdoing it on the squat way to often?
> He retired at 29 despite some bodybuilders winning their titles in late 30s, never won any titles
>never won any titles
He won Mr. America and IFBB's Mr. Universe and got 2nd v. Frank Zane. His retirement was entirely because he thought the IFBB was just about Arnold getting what he wanted at that point and that same event lead to others including Frank Zane to boycott the IFBB at least for a little bit. card.

I'd tell you to suck Mike's cock but your role model is 6 feet under thanks to his meth addiction.

>grifter
Much less of a grifter than those today or those in the past. He seems to have actually believed what he taught.
> results without putting in the work
They did have to put the work. Unlike the pump and squeeze programs most commonly sold, there was actually work involved as a trainee couldn't just stop a set when it started to get harder and rest 5-10 times for an exercise under the delusion that 10-20 easy sets will do something. He also actively advised in his lectures and tapes that someone could train once every 48 hours but no more frequently. Moreover he least frequent routine, was intended solely for either a unicorn who couldn't gain muscle on any other routine or as a sort of maintenance routine for a lifter who got everything they could. His ideal routine on the other hand could be adjusted for the individual and could be done with a greater frequency than once every 96 hours as long as there was a rest day between each workout.
>the work
There's a popular misconception that a large quantity of total reps is required to gain muscle mass. It's not. Not all reps are made equal. Some are worth much more than others and those are the last 3-4 reps before muscular failure.
> addicted to meth
He got amphetamines (not necessarily meth) prescribed by a doctor because he wanted to be as productive as possible. That didn't really occur until he started to get into writing in the 80's.
>advocated for drinking
The only video where he "advocates" for drinking is an interview about diet where he just says "there's room for a few calories of alcohol." Not advocacy for drinking but merely that someone could have a couple beers every once in a while if they wanted to.

Mentzer was a scammer but I think he looked way better than those guys
>>
>>75517133
using meth to cut down on weight is based. Don't tell me you're some homo who things DMAA is the hardcore stuff
>>
>>75517139
it's okay you can just say working out is not for you
>>
>>75517133
You are certainly obsessed with sucking cock if that's the first thing that came to mind. You also must be insecure about your height if you feel that you have to bring up another person's height.
>>75517157
Mike wasn't using meth to cut. He was using amphetamines prescribed by a doctor for energy when he was trying work on his magazine. The same way college students use adderall (an amphetamine) to cram for an exam.

it's a fucking phrase you stupid fuck

I'm sure you'd like it to be. But we both know which board you're on, where there are entire threads about people posting about their mental illnesses to the point where they have to get destructive surgeries to attempt to cope with it.

>Larry Pollock
Larry Pollock claiming to have met Mike Mentzer at 19 would have been in about 1987. After which Pollock claims that Mike asked him to move in. However, Mike was homeless in the late 80's when somehow Larry would have moved in with Mike. On top of that, Mike Mentzer was in Europe 1983-1985 doing some exhibitions, then after that would have been trying to work on his own magazine up until about 1986-1987 which is when his magazine lost funding. After which he was institutionalized because of a combination of psychosis as a product of his amphetamine addiction and the emotional problems related to his parents dying and his girlfriend leaving him. Pollock's story resembles more someone who is taking a few publically available photos of Mike from later and then conjuring up some story to sell about Mike. Unless Pollock was living in Mike's car, there is no way Pollock could have moved in with him. His description of Mike being skinny with a potbelly perfectly reflects the Mike Mentzer of the 90's, there are very few photos available of him from the late 80's to check if any at all. It is therefore impossible to corroborate his story. There is no substantive connection between Pollock and Mike Mentzer. There seems to be quite a few stories Pollock tells about him training with some big names like somehow with Ed Coan. Pollock comes across like the teller of tall tales. Also, no proof of Mike ever being gay as Pollock claims. It's just Pollock weaving tall tales.

Moreover according to Markus Reinhardt who is actually is proven to know Mike had never mentioned that Mike needed to be bribed with meth to train anyone, that he was interested in being professional and timely with his work and with his trainees. The only thing Markus Reinhardt in particular had attested too was that Mike just wanted to chill out with his vodka and write.

Mike practiced what he preached, he was too autistic not to
>>
The only true grifter was Arnold
Mike suggested his high intensity workout plan for naturals, which makes sense since all bodybuilders actually had quick recovery due to roids

>retards on the internet will say you were lazy
>>
>>75516894
this same bot reply pops up in every Mentzer thread, it's so weird. He trained for Mr. Universe and the Olympias using Arthur Jone's HIT training, not volume.

also, the meth stuff was a myth
>>
>>75521249
He did get on amphetamines in 1979 and had to come off them in 86-87 after he was institutionalized. He used them because he wanted to feel conscious all the time and to give him energy for his writing career.
>>
>>75516894
It's understandable to doubt Mentzer, but what about Dorian Yates? He used a heavy duty style training system directly inspired by Mentzer during his pro career. Stayed healthy past his retirement too.
