Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 1g per lb of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and burn fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body burning away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

Day 3 of OMAD down and I'm remembering how effortless this was the first time. Walking a couple of miles every other day to pick up a rotisserie chicken and a pack of raspberries from the bougie grocery store feels a lot nicer than going there every night and binging at their bakery. I feel like continuing to walk everywhere and carrying everything on my back even after I became a fatass again is setting me up a lot better than the first time I started losing weight. Tonight's walk felt great.

These things arent minor in the middle and long term. I'm dealing with constant acid reflux (possibly GERD) and Ive had a sore throat for 3 months now. Even if it doesnt give you cancer right away it will erode your esophagus and potentially cause changes in the cells and give you a condition called Barrett's esophagus. And once it does give you cancer you have a 20% chance to still be alive after 5 years.
All im gonna say is thank fuck i started making these changes before the first wave of acid reflux hit. I just wish I had done it sooner but the past is immutable.

What does your diet typically consist of? Im on 800g of green vegetables (broccoli, spinach, kale, cauliflower, ect) and 400g of lean protein (chicken, 90/10 beef, pork loin,ect) and my shits are both regular and easy.

That has not been my experience at all. Down 160lbs but if I dont count and just try to eat intuitively or even just keep eating the same stuff in roughly the same amounts I gain weight. Only by counting can I keep my weight the same or make it go down. It's as if I subconsciously eat more when Im not counting. The other thing is when counting I know when Ive been eating more and can have some leaner meals in the coming days to balance things out.

For me, it was probably grade 1. I just felt anxiety all the time, and used food as my crutch. It has just stayed like that for so long until I started my weight loss journey. Now, I sit quietly and meditate when I'm anxious, instead of grabbing extra servings of snacks and meals.

Dad always made us kids feel body conscious and looking at photos growing up, I was a typical kid with a bit of puppy fat. No where near overweight. That didn’t happen till I hit puberty and I was 85kg in high school.
I’ve always been up and down with my weight my adult life. I’ve gained and lost weight 4 times already and I hit my maximum of 376lb these past 4 years and I really didn’t care at all. I work 9-5, completely sedentary WFH. I have never been athletic although for some reason everyone thinks I have great "potential". Until 2 weeks ago I could not do a single pull up or push up. I'll test out my bench press max but it was 135 pounds then too but since then I've jumped up a bit doing machine presses. I do full body every other day but a bit more often so like 4-6 days a week. Peanute butter sandwiches, a chicken wrap and a protein shake. 120g maybe. The only supplements I take are creatine (5g) and this effervescent tablet that's got 15mg of zinc and 1000mg of vitamin c. I tested my bench today and I can rep 135 with ease but it drops to 3 reps max if I add 10 pounds and barely 1 after another 10. I'm actually pretty happy with that. The machine press is basically 1:1 so I'll stick to that until I can rep 225 with ease on it.

Read a thing that said prolonged fasting until you lose 10% of your bodyweight is fine.
My question is, is how many days reset do you need to do before you lose another 10%?
Like would a week of standard eating be enough? Or do you have to go a whole month? Or is one day going to be fine?

My parents were druggie burnouts who melted their brains at the tail end of the 70s and early 80s and had me and my brothers in the early 90s. They had zero useful life experience and barely knew how to cook so packaged crap and simple meals with sides of packaged crap was my diet as a kid. I had to teach myself all the normal things people are supposed to do as a young adult and having a healthy relationship with money and food is one of the major hurdles I still have. So the tldr is that I was raised by EBT Americans.

BMR is without any activity at all, meaning only your essential body functions, BMR with sedentarity added would be TDEE of activity level 1 (~1.2 multiplier).

So 190lb 6'. Lets say your 1rm for bench is 160. That's actually pretty good. Your BMR is in the 1850 range.

Even through your inactivity you do have muscle mass. Waist fat is the hardest to beat. I suggest to do the barbell workouts as auxiliary, machine is easier and good at isolation, raw barbell trains smaller muscles and brings unilateral harmony. You need to teach your body to balance the weight from going to the sides, and this has positive effects.

Now, there are two ways to get better looking, as I said earlier I'm biased towards body recomp. I've reasoned it to healthier, sustainable and faster, it has the potential to bring lifelong change that doesn't purely stop at fitness. It is control and discovery driven.

Others here might be better at the other method, so I won't say anything about that.

I suggest if at all possible to optimize your workouts soon. Three full bodies a week is good, but you could try a better split. Muscles need time to recover (after really heavy leg days I need over 90h for recovery) and if you give them the time you can push them harder. You bodys' protein synthesis is also capped at a certain level, so use that to your advantage. Consistency keeps your hormones in balance, spikes hgh & test and awards your discipline with dopamine, endorphines, seratonin and lowers cortisol.

That's the thing. Since I only really do 1-2 warm up sets before 2-3 hard sets close to failure, I recover pretty easily and can hit the same muscle the next day. I just woke up to use the toilet, I fell asleep with a lot of strain on my quads and upper back and I have none now. And that's after 4 hours of sleep. I really do think with adequate sleep you can do full body every single day. Of course it's better to do this on a bulk to aid recovery. It might be the most optimal thing for growth considering you get to keep muscle protein synthesis up. I'm not sure how much faster you can grow, there's no study on this, but it should be statistically significant.
The issue is I can't preach it looking the way I do so I'll keep quiet until I lose the fat at the very least and see what's actually underneath.
