How did ancient vegans survive and live to old age without supplements?
Apollonius of Tyana, Pythagoras, and Abu al-‘Ala’ al-Ma’arri vegans.

neither apollonius nor pythagoras were vegans, and surviving on a vegetarian diet especially in and around the mediterranea wouldnt have been a problem even between 400bc-100ce also none of them were athletes so why ask here?

المعري was a deranged schizo who lived on pure sheer will and was blind, you're not him

There’s a difference between vegetarian and vegan
Milk could’ve helped them

First, they were not.
Second, their soils were not depleted of all nutrients like ours are today.
You have to eat six or seven oranges to get the same nutrition that boomers got from one orange 70 years ago.
This is an almost global phenomenon.

where does it say this? no sources say pythagoras went vegan, only vegetarian, you can read that in uzdavinys golden chain, for apollonius you can read that he went vegetarian in philostratus Book 1 on apollonius
>>
I believe they just suffered. They might have also thought that the sickness and psychosis is their spiritual gains or something.

they survived by basically not moving all day.
literal citations those fucking monks.
protip this diet deprived the brain of almost all nutrition and caused schizophrenic delusions of grand designs.

crazy that monks have more in common with opiate abusers living on the streets than they do with intellectuals of any society.

also they probably ate fish and meat broth anyway
also beer and bread had so much yeast on them they couldn't possibly be classified vegan
>>

the average age back then was like 20-30, if you were living of old age you were wealthy
>>

No.
>>
>>76819530
Pythagoras was completely nuts and didn't even invent the theorems he's credited with.

Not how averages work. Not everything is a nice bell curve. The big difference between having a low vs high average life span has always been infant death rate. Once you're older than ~5yr or so the life expectancy isn't all that different than today.
