RAM OC is just enabling XMP. Default RAM speeds are 2133, 2600 and some other one, I forget.

The question is if futureproofing is still worth it. If I look on prices of used cards they seem to loose a lot less money than just a few years ago, 6800xt's still go for ~350-400€ when you can get a 7800xt for 500€ new. Maybe it is smarter to buy the cheaper card like a 7700xt and upgrade every or every second generation instead of using a futureproof card until it is basically worthless.

I've been using an RTX 3060 for a while now and after getting some 4k monitors I think I'd like to upgrade for my gaming PC.
Is the 4060 Ti still very respectable for 4k or should I take the full plunge for a 4080 Super? I'm brainlet on how gpus work so I'm not sure if its the clock speeds or the chipset that ultimately matters. I live in the US too

Thoughts on this for a budget of £1000-ish? I've never built a PC before. I've been laptop only but at some point a man gets tired of how slow anything heavy is and feels an itch to play a video game with more than 2 dimensions.
