Got my Galaxy Buds FE todayCompared to my Pixel Buds Pro, the shape is way more comfortable, fits very snug. They're bassier, but it's a pleasant bass rather than overly done. They also sound punchier to me, I kind of like the sound. I also don't really know what I'm talking about though.I'm a little annoyed I tested them out. I was just going to keep my Pixel Buds Pro but now I'm thinking maybe I should keep the Galaxy Buds FE. I don't knowAs far as I know the Buds Pro are almost double the price, but they share the same features and everything so I don't know where the price goes

No. Do NOT eq your pos. If you want a different sound signature, buy another pos. The techs are in the consumption of newer releases. Equalizer software mines bitcoin and causes tinnitus!

Don't know which to keep. The FE's are definitely much louder and punchier. For sound itself, dunno

>>102466067quality control in what aspect?for example, as exemplary KZ is for their channel matching, their reputation makes that aspect uselessassuming you're talking about overall qc (build quality, channel matching, etc), then tanchjim, aful, dunu, and simgot are major chinese brands that have pretty good consistency in that department (ie established companies that have a relatively longer release cycle)for non-chink brands, it really depends, but most will be at or below the levels of the four brands above. all of this also depends on the pos complexity, so qc is not only inconsistent on a brand to brand basis, but also on a product to product basis in the same company.

There are a few niche tunings like OG P1 Max, Shozy P20, Sivga Nightingale, but most are similar (FYI most planars have undergone silent revisions / updated drivers over time). My S12 Pro graphs very similar to F1 Pro besides having a touch more mid bass. T10 has better control over upper treble that I prefer.
>>102473118I mean, I already have Chu II which was supposed to be the EQ endgame, I just want a planar pos for the heck of it, that's all.
>>102472811I thought it sounded as good as the SM4, but I could never get past that planar timbre which is also present on the more expensive S12 refreshes.
>>102473036>how do you find the PR3 which I believe is what's at the bottom of your pic? It's the PR2 non-mesh version. Trash. I also have CCA PLA13 somewhere in a box. Trash. Besides the retarded treble, there is fairly severe channel imbalance between the pairs at random frequencies.
>>102473118Think of all the techs you're missing with non planar pos
>>102470482These guys are still pretty niche no? Aren’t they only on aliexpress? My big issue is why would I spend a bunch on a knockoff when I can get the real deal er2xr for like $50?
>>102473162I've read that the non-mesh PR2/PR3's treble can be brought under control with a 10-20ohm impedance adapter which somehow interferes with the internal filtering circuit.
>>102473189Really only part of the problem. That bass is super lean. There is no weight or impact. Hilarious to be a NGGAR collab and have such crap bass and mid bass. And again, yes I can EQ, but I have to EQ both sides completely different because of channel imbalance on my units.
>>102473033>kills all the subbassYeah get a planar that's rid of one of planar's strengths. Also it looks suspiciously similar to what KZ tends to spew out.
>>102473208Not trying to defend it, just mentioning this one problem supposedly can get fixed that way. But it only makes sense if you already bought it, otherwise just get a better iem...
Anyone can recc some good tips? My XM5s refuse to stay in my ears and I've had enough of adjusting them like a retard every 5 steps I take. Tried the tips from my old XM4s and while they sit perfectly they don't seal properly.
>>102473262AZLA MAX
>>102473208Bruh
are variations still the best iems at any price point
>>102472811Uncomfortable pos. Your eargina will need some dilatation before it can accept the pos and its weird angle.
>>102474145Yes! The midbass crater and shout are still unmatched to this date. If you want awkward timbre you should really look into them.
>>102474145Not unless you want the possibility of stealth revision >>102452079
>>102472935planar sheen in the treble, does the T10 have it? how is it compared to the S12 Pro?
>>102474356all planars have planar timbre. i personally don't love it, but t10 and og p1 max are ok. s12 pro is meh for me, too much treble. fine for a short listen, not for prolonged session / loud volume
>>102474254Eh, I always need to use L-size eartips and even that feels loose sometimes so I think my earussy can handle that just fine.
>>102474356literally every planar that sounds like a planar will have planar sheen (aka fucked up timbre)every other "non-technical" "dd-like" planar reduces or sometimes avoids it completely
>>102471453if it turns out to be as technical as the LM and S12 Pro with the same meta tuning as the first Hexa, I'll sell all my pos and get it
>>102474519>technical>same meta tuning
>>102474356yes it does, its less egregious than on the s12 pro but still unlistenable. I'm utterly convinced that people who shill planars have hearing loss
>>102474534It'll cost more so it'll be more technical.
>>102471960it's probably 7Hz x NGGAR Legato 2 with more bass
>>102474534the gibberish nonsense they come with is astonishing
>>102474145Obsoleted by fox IEM.
>>102474550IS it true that Artti T10 is actually made by Letshuoer?
>>102474651basically yeah. artti and aoshida are sub-brands of letshuoer
>>102472924Piece of sound. Or pinnacle of shit. Both are correct.
>>102474684oh and kefine
>>102474534better techs can still be provided by better Bellsings
>>102474550i'm somewhat on your side senpai. having other multi-drivers or high-performance DD trumps planar for me as well. it's not like they have nothing going for them: good cohesion like a 1DD, off-the-charts treble extension, and some speed, but indeed most of the time the timbre is off-kilter and not euphonic
>>102474145They get BTFO by Kara, S12, timeless AE, cadenza, cadenza 4, performer 5, that other 200$ chink POS etc etc etc
>>102474737laser-pinpoint imaging resolution and lots of subtle, pleasant reverb between instruments across the whole wide soundstage are still reasons I keep getting back to my S12@Pro
>>102474787and the LM for fucking $90
>>102474806In reality, the variations are an out of date over priced POS sharing cheap bellsing drivers with sub 50$ POS hybrids
>>102472935I'm also curious how PR3 compares to T10, I've got the KZ and thought of also getting the latter, but read somewhere that it'd basically be a sidegrade.
>>102474839they don't get any cheaper over time because of sonion electret ESTs that are ridiculously expensive by themselves, which means variations will always remain expensive outdated pos
>>102474873kz's planars are trash in comparison across the frequency range. even weaker bass, sucked out hollow mids, and sizzling treble that simultaneously lacks resolution. beyond the sound, they're prone to driver flex, have bad QC channel imbalance, etc.
Why aren't yall hyped for the new simgot's headphones EP5 and salute to art and science?
>>102474922open back? demo'ing at canjam will be futile thenalso>headpos
oh my god i just looked at the headband. the absolute lack of cushioning / weight distribution system. i can feel my head denting
>>102474922sundara looking ahh
>>102474976anon...
>>102474922Because headphones are supposed to be a salute to the sound.
>>102474922>She uses headphones Lol....
>>102474922I don't want the dent and sweaty ears. Pinnacle of suffering.
>>102474922Because that headband will fail
>>102474908Pr1 also has insane distortion.
>>102474922Headphones were solved by the hd6XX and those get BTFO by $20 POS
how far am I supposed to push iems into my ears for good sealing?if I try to fully push-in my Wan'ers they just naturally "slide out" of my ear
>>102475558the deeper you want to shove your pos in, the smaller eartips you need
>>102475558if you've ever put in ear plugs you can use the same method for seating iems. use your opposite hand, reach over the top of you head and pull up on the top of your ear, and then shove the iem in as far as humanly possible, twisting a bit to get optimum position. then let go of ear and it should hold in there pretty good.
I love earbuds!
Can I ask about Speakers here?Do I buy these cheapshit amazon basic speakers, which supposedly aren't bad, or get the Creative Pebble speakers for ~$10 more? There's a comparison here but I don't really know what I'm looking/hearing at and the music is none of the stuff I listen to anyway. Just want it for movies/games and stuffhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZFygF6OF_8
>>102476117they're both extremely basic tier solutions for computer speakers. they will play audio, not well or to any decent level of wide-band fidelity.
>>102476117Go to your fb marketplace and get jbl or edifier speakers. Worth way more than those and about the same price since used.
>>102476254>>102476380I only want a cheapass solution and I don't have a lot of space either for where I want to put these hence the small footprintBut I also don't want something awful so wondered if the Pebbles were worth the extra over the Basics. It's been the typical "oh these are cheapass i'll just get them without thinking > wait actually if I spend X more will it be worth it"
>>102476479do you actually care about sound quality? then do what anon says >>102476380the $10 extra for pebbles will make zero difference, both are ass. you're wracking your brain over "pile of shit or pile of vomit," sincerely. these are meant to be solutions for like an AirBnB, work office and shit.
pebbles were so bad i felt bad for my boomer dad who doesn't give a fuck about audio and i replaced them with bose companions as minimally acceptable. even those suck but not as bad
I just got my Moondrop Dawn Pro in the mail. Am I supposed to manipulate volume through my phone while the Dawn is on its lowest setting, or have my phone on max volume and adjust the Dawn? If it's somewhere in between, how do I find the sweet spot?Should I bother updating firmware on this?
>>102476636somewhere in between. have the dawn pro approximately middle of it's volume range, then leave it unless you need finer adjustment. use your phone for bigger steps. no, don't bother with firmware if you have no issues. chifi more often than not fucks up their own products with firmware releases. golden rule: if it ain't broke don't fix it.
For rock midbass bloat is unironically good, yall gotta stop listening to anime porn (or maybe its the supreme 2DD techs)
>>102476681we been knowin this g
>>102476479Pebble and Basic are literal trash. It's like getting a $1 iem off aliexpress and expecting something out of it. You need to hit $100 for anything audiophile, like UE Megablast or Soundcore Motion+. If you just want something slightly above dogwater while saving money, Soundcore Flare 2 is your best choice.Unlike iems, there are unironically no good cheap speakers.
>>102476691Ight i gotchu famalam, I fell for the harman meme, its alr for some stuff but its boring and a bit shouty
>>102476548I did do what anon said, I couldn't find any compact speakersFor the purpose, the sound quality isn't honestly all that important I guess, they're just replacing a far sub par pair which I only rarely use. >>102476747I see, I guess my IEM experience made me think speakers could be had at a decent price. Honestly I'm not looking for audiophile tier with these, passable is OK because they're not something I'lluse a lot. I know the response can then be, who gives a shit just get either then but I figured one might actually be better than the other rather than uniform dogshit
https://www.scarbir.com/Why this guy own dozens of tws but refusing to do a single FR measurement? It's such a damn waste given no one actually has a proper tws database.
>>102475558Sounds like you need some sticky tips. Spinfit omni/w1, softears UC, azla sedna crystal will help. Honestly though, wanker type shells just never fit well and for the price of aftermarket tips you might as well get something better to begin with.
>>102476874>you might as well get something better to begin withwhat's the new fotm? I've been considering spending more than $15 for once but there are too many pos releasing nowadays
>>102475558Get dunu s&s and never worry about seal again. Comfort may vary
>>102476636Max volume on source, then control with buttons on dawn pro. Get the app, change to low gain
>>102476869Twshitters deserve this. Also apparently it's a pain in the ass to measure some tws models apparently since they detect being worn. Headpos show had to trick airpods with slices of bacon.
What do you value most in an iem?For me, timbre is paramount. If an IEM sounds unnatural it likely won’t be kept for long.
>>102477286>What do you value most in an iem?Fox.
>>102477101Could you explain why your direction differs from this anon's? >>102476675
>>102477286>values the timbre>uses all-BA posBro...
>>102477286comfort (IE series), lightweight cable (OE audio), no pressure build-up (cough cough M9), no BAs, 1DD by sennheiser (so no major dips and roll off) then I have the total frequency domain control with EQ to fix it to my HRTF and get the best timbre possible with my preferred in-room tilt and bass
>>102477286>paperclips wrapped in wires>natural timbrelollmao even
>>102477286Sibilance check > Comfort/fit > Sound quality
>>102477286Comfort is king, then build quality, distortion/techs, aesthetics, and last is FR because EQ is free.
>>102477286Looks >= comfort >= build quality > good qc > acceptable distortion >>>>> sound quality
>>102477286price, because all IEMs are minimum phase except hybrids and cheapest IEMs are 1DD which mean they're literally perfect, you can add euphonic distortion (techs) in software and open up the sounstage with hesuvi, make the comfort and sound much better with top tier tips like feaulle H570 or tang sancai wide bore and use EQ to tune your pos to 5128 diffuse field with room curve, among these cheap pos there's one king that reigns supreme and it's chu 2
>>102477664>euphonic distortion (techs)Low distortion planars from audeze have huge techs.
>>102477286>Good design>Comfortable to wear>Stock sound doesn't require a gorillion filters to fix to my preference. (Good driver)

Post your favourite albums to listen to. Curious about /iemg/'s demographic.
editor herestarting another section/project: weekly /iemg/ music reviews.heres the gist: starting from each friday to sunday, anyone that wants to "review", give their impressions, or simply rec (or not) a newly released album or single is welcome to, after which ill add it to the gazette. the music has to be newly released on the same friday as the opening (eg for this period, today) and at the earliest the tuesday of the same week.ill see the interest, and if needed, will also provide a download link to the lossless album for anything that is added to the gazette. hopefully this will fill a weird void.
I seriously wonder why you guys still buy expensive pos, daps and all when all you're listening to is shitty mixed japanese songs
