The GPU one with the extra tab for dedicated power is the only improvement. Reduces risks of fire and adds more support to heavier GPUs.
>>102522147Problem is the angles are not always convenient, and you'll probably have to switch your case as well.Take the RMX shift PSUs. Good concept, actually compatible with quite a few cases out there, but even when there's enough clearance you might find some angles really awkward for those cables it includes. so you might end up with a mess still, just emptying the PSU shroud which in some cases is useful (for instance with my Lancool 216, no HDD cages, no cables in the way, there's enough empty space that it's beneficial to install one fan on the bottom) but in others it's absolutely pointless.

I seriously don't get why the NH D15 G2 exists. It's like a degree cooler than the original D15, and it's not even quieter. It just feels like it exists because the D15 was getting old, but age isn't something that matters for CPU coolers What the fuck are you paying the extra $40 for with the G2? This product is something that should've been a replacement to the original D15 while costing the same, not some "higher tier" that performs basically the same. With shit like the peerless assassin costing $35, the D15 is already hard to justify, $150 for a dual tower cooler is beyond retarded
Could the Dyson memefan design work as a CPU cooler?
>>102522131If you're targeting 4K, the extra VRAM might be a nice to have in some situations. It's only an extra $200 for stronger card, which is a fairly small amount of insurance against the total cost of the build and a nice TV. Having said that the 4070 Super and 4070 Ti Super are both more like 4K DLSS Performance cards at this point (the Ti Super maybe 4K Balanced), so I don't think VRAM is a real issue. Guys apparently you can play Halo Infinite with high FPS and no drops with 8 gigs of vram but in reality, textures are blurry or not loading in properly in-game. Do you just have to turn down textures in settings?

Been using an RX580 for the past 6-7 years and it's time to retire the old girl. What's a good 1080p card for a new build? Around $300 but cheaper's always better especially for the same performance. It's hard getting a good answer because you'll have autists screeching "JUST GO 1440p" or "this card ONLY does 240 fps LITERALLY unplayable"
>>102523095I have been using a 590 and I am switching to one of these >>102521799 >>102521776
>>102523095$300 should be enough for a 4060/7600XT (maybe a 6700(XT) if you can find last gen in stock). Any one would be plenty for 1080p high refresh if you're smart with settings - high for gaming, ultra for screenshots.
Can someone explain to me this behavior? It only happens with one game. I use a 4070 super.>Start the game>Weird inconsistent framerates going up and down when moving the camera slowly, almost stuttery but not fully>Switch to exclusive fullscreen (or windowed fullscreen if already exclusive)>Runs smooth

Do you just have to turn down textures in settings?Disable the HD Texture pack DLC in Steam. Likely this will help with blurry textures. Some crossgen period games had problems with textures, where larger size textures that look no better than the optimized textures will cause the graphics card to run out of VRAM and load low quality textures and models. You can get much better quality by using texture setting, often identical to the Ultra setting but without performance problems. Halo Infinite was garbage from a technical standpoint in general, especially on PC. Had a lot of problems, not only with textures and models.https://youtu.be/KAPJPsOwncI?si=GdYITxVCLY3tmH37&t=100

>>102523095If you already have a half decent monitor (high refresh, adaptive sync, and IPS), it's fine to stay 1080p. Otherwise a monitor upgrade should be a priority. 1440p monitors are cheap, and they're not more difficult to run because of DLSS. 1440p Quality DLSS looks better than 1080p DLAA, and it's not more difficult to run. 1440p Performance also looks better than 1080p Quality, and again 1440p isn't more difficult to run.Regardless, the RTX 4060 or 3060 12 GB are the standard options for new cards, but if you want to go budget, a used 2060 Super is a good option. It will still be an upgrade overall of course but I know people seem to really push the idea that you shouldn't be falling too far behind in cpu gens when you're looking at new graphics cards. I'm looking at this card specifically because its $600 and every card down in the 30 series is either more expensive for less performance comparatively or is cheaper by a good amount but barely even an upgrade over my current card.
>>102526796technically the shitty wraith spire it comes with it is more than sufficient, anything better than that is good.>>102526805you're at the edge of a bottleneck but it should be fine.
>>102526805people on way worse cpus have upgraded to more powerful cards
>>102526779Old as in 2 generations old.3080 was ~$650 MSRP. Used on ebay and they're like, ~$400.That's like 40% off if you can take the risk of buying old and used.
>>102526739>>102526745Okay, don't really need the igpu was just going for something newish. Looks like I could get the 7500f on ebay for a similar price.
>>102526796it's hot but it will be hot even with a better cooler>>102526805the 9900K really needs good cooling and fast RAM to do wellif you have those, it's competitive with a 5800X, and pairing a 5800X with a 4070S is very sensible>>102526838good, 7500F will be faster because it has more cachedon't get tricked by model numbers
>>102526705Bartlett Lake will probably be breddy gud if paper specs come to fruition>Up to 12 P-Cores>Cheap plentiful B660 boards>Cheap DDR4 RAM>>102526768>https://hardwaretimes.com/amd-radeon-rx-8800-xt-nvidia-rtx-4080-half-price/>Rumors say 8800 XT = 4080 in raster for $500-600>Well probably end up barely faster than the 7900 GRE>For around the same price they currently sell forAnother Massive Disappointmentâ„¢
How do you know what's good and what makes one thing better than another? Lots of research and watching videos of benchmarks and gameplay and shit?
>>102526862if everything goes well it will be 7900XT tier for $500, but yes worst case scenario it will be 7800XT tier for $600 but that is doomfag territory.
>>102526326>Pretty sure it's the same as the MSI 1080 Aerothat seems highly likely, design is identical, and I believe Msi has been making Dell's cards for a long ass whilelike more recently those dual fan 3080/3090 cards that ended up actually being better than some much chunkier triple fan cards, or the decent 4080/4090 designs used in alienwares
>>102526862Bartlett lake isn't getting a consumer release, probably available on aliexpress
>>102526805Ehhh... I have a 3080 ti on a 5ghz 8700K and it runs decent enough. Ideally, you SHOULD upgrade to a less archaic CPU, but you'll be fine.
>>102526855>it's hot but it will be hot even with a better coolerIs this because of how PBO works, or because it's just a hot chip?
>>102526983bothprecision boost and precision boost overdrive (PBO) are different things btw, but yes, precision boost will boost as much as possible until it reaches the temperature limit, so the chip will always run hotif you get a better cooler it runs faster, it doesn't get cooler
>>102526131Goldfish remember the beginning of the RTX 30 era, but the actual dark ages started soon after the GTX 10 series released and the BTC boom. RTX 30 was finally supposed to be a return to the norm (MSRP LOL), but of course that got fucked up by ETH and COVIDhttps://www.pcgamer.com/is-the-great-graphics-card-shortage-finally-ending/>April 25, 2018>>102526805You can upgrade the graphics card first and decide whether to upgrade the CPU later. It'll be fine in most cases, for example if you're playing modern Unreal games. You might be limited in the odd CPU demanding game, like the recent Space Marine 2, or in Cyberpunk 2077 without RT>>102526877A lot of it comes from personal experience. Hard to avoid the Radeon shilling if you watch the tardtubers like AMDumboxed. Most of them are way behind the times when it comes to modern rendering techniques. Places like AMDumboxed just began testing with upscaling on (after DLSS2 has been out for nearly five years) and putting FSR right next to DLSS as if they are the same thingAMDumboxed making a methodology change like that (e.g., it never tested with RT until Radeon had RT capability and then only tested lite RT games), likely means that AMD is about start catching up in the upsampling department and AMDumboxed knows it's safe to start acknowledging ML based upsampling for what it is (of course now that its pet brand is about to have it)
>>102526877pretty much that's why everyone starts with "well what games do you want to play"and then there are the odd cases like tarkov that doesn't max neither the cpu nor the gpu so it's still a shitshow
>>102526903>if everything goes well it will be 7900XT tier for $500, but yes worst case scenario it will be 7800XT tier for $600 but that is doomfag territory.Hope springs eternal I suppose. The 7900 XTs are ~$700 right now, so ~15-29% reduction in price for the same performance is not an unreasonable ask for a new generation of silicon after 2 years (or at least it used to not be). Maybe they are counting Nvidia to only care about AI/Data Center sales so they think they can price non-Halo cards aggressively for the remainder of time until the 5000 Mid-range arrives middle of next year without initiating a retaliatory price war from Jensen. The thing is the 7900 XT launched for $1000 and no way was THAT sticking, so if they think they can pull a Zen 5 and launch the 8800 XT for a 30% cut over the previous MSRP of what it's replacing (which conveniently is what the 7900 XTs sell for at street value now) sales will be similarly abysmal.
>>102520774>budget: R5 5600Recommending am4 to poorfags is devilish, when they want to upgrade they're gonna have to bin their motherbosrd and ram for new ones just to upgrade their CPU, even if ddr5 prices are going to go down, its better to just buy am5 now so you won't have to worry about changing your motherboard or ram for a long ass time, unless your ram fails it'll probably last you the rest of this decade

>>102526855>the 9900K really needs good cooling and fast RAM to do wellDefine fast RAM, I've got 64 gigs (I fell for the meme but it was pretty cheap) of 3600 DDR4. Cooling is a non issue I've yet to seen the thing go above 70.
