11.11 sales cont.

Everything is already from China, but in here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.

1st rule of /csg/: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Any cheapshit mp3 players that last for a long while, have sd card support and can play a large (4k+) opus library?
The cheapest and chinkest shit available if possible, I'm not buying those retarded $100+ fagmachines.

Ive 1 of everything and tried substituting some stuff from different stores but still same issue. Why doesnt it just say what items are causing the issue ffs

Dont think I picked any bundle items, at least intentionally I didn't.
So I screwed myself over, I just started taking things out the basket and the transaction went through once I got it down below the 25€ discount coupon point. Only got 16€ off instead which is annoying but otherwise it just wouldnt go through until I did that. Stupid but I guess it is what it is. Scammed myself

Ok my house hasn't exploded so power surge probably works.

You cant remote control each usb port remotely, it can only be on off all 4 ports.
Other power ports you can control them separately but plug is not universal. I probably need to buy adapter

Yea i looked into used ipod market and the only model i could find for cheap in my country was the Nano 3rd gen. (the STANCED and SMASHED one) but the mods seem to be mainly available in the US and importing them would sort of make it just as expensive as said $100 fagmachines.

If it was cheap, I wouldn't have any issues with using a big ereader but these things are hundreds of dollars. Probably cheaper to just buy used books on ebay and a cheap small ereader for text based epubs.

>>103173990
It's the Sovol SV08 which is based on the Voron 2.4 design but adopted for mass manufacturing (cheaper, price and quality wise). But it's still a pretty good printer for the price. Paid 477 Euros which is like 505 USD. Regular price is more like 549 USD / 599 Euro. Just search SV08 on Ali but the offer is already gone. Bought on 11.11. and it's already here (shipped from local warehouse).

The Timemore C3 ESP PRO has arrived. P good, solid build, tolerances are a bit too tight, the machined metal pieces keep grinding against each other, some slightly rough edges but I feel like all of it will smooth out with use. Does a better job than the previous grinder, now gotta wait for the scale to come and then the only thing left to consoom will be a kettle with temperature regulation.

I got close to 1000 Protector Sleeves for $15 but have yet to use them. I have a Injekt Printer and want to DIY Pictures at home into 'Cards' to preserve them, is there good Paper Printer that I can get in 91mm x 66mm for printing on and should it be Glossy?
I have never done something like this before but its going to be Pictures of IRL Photography, idk a lot about Printers but this will probably take a lot of Ink which is why I settled for a Card Format.
Also just incase anybody is wondering, I am going to be Printing close to 2000 Pictures so I want to make sure the Paper I use is Quality before going crazy. Thanks for the help anons.

That Timemore cost me ~47USD and it's still better than the Xeoleo I used before so I don't care all that much. Also seems like all flat burr grinders are electric, so 1) much more expensive than manual ones so fuck that noise and 2) I don't have space to dedicate for an electric grinder to begin with.

>>
>>103175231
>if you're willing to babysit it
That is exactly what I'm doing right now and I want to replace it to save time on my morning coffee. Arguably the wait for the temp drop takes up the most time for me right now, but I also want more precision. The new grinder is one thing, the other is the Timemore Black Mirror Basic 2 that's in flight right now, the kitchen weight I have has the margin error of like 1-2g depending on how it sits and what phase of the moon it is, so it's useless for coffee and I've been eyeballing it so the outcome is random. Whether it's a good or a bad investment, I don't know, but I hope it'll be better.

>>103175262
I'm not willing to dive into that rabbit hole, way more expensive and way more finicky. I only have a moka pot I have barely used after getting an Aeropress which I've been daily driving for years now.

Just because something is popular with a group doesn't mean it's exclusive to them, unless it purposely targets them. Blåhaj doesn't belong to trans people any more than, say, Fallout New Vegas, depression or thigh-high socks do. I don't play my Switch much either, mostly still play my 3DS on the rare occasion I feel like gaming.
The coziest game I've played on Switch though is Car Quest. Terrific indie game developed entirely by two brothers apparently.
https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/car-quest-switch/
The coziest game on 3DS is undeniably Fantasy Life. There's a much-delayed sequel arriving on Switch next year supposedly, which I'm really looking forward to. In the meantime Snack World is a spiritual successor of sorts I still mean to check out sometime (the dungeons were the best part of Fantasy Life in my opinion, but they were way too small a part of the game).
Have fun Anon.

check to see if the window is double pane (or triple, rarely) first. look at the edges of the window from inside to see if you can spot the likely metal spacer that separates the two panes. see pic.
if it's double pane, do NOT put a reflective surface up against the window. the space in between the panes is a sealed chamber of gasses that prevent fogging and condensation. if you put a reflective surface up, it kicks back enough light that and heats up enough that the gas will expand and break these seals, allowing normal (moist) air to leak inside the panes, and your windows will start fogging on the inside at the drop of a temperature-difference hat and will likely never be clear again and can mold all nasty. you'd have to replace the whole unit if this happens, there is no feasible DIY repair.
if your windows are modern enough, they probably have a "low E" coating on the outside to try and reflect infrared but let visible light through. they're not 100% efficient so putting a reflector on the inside can create a kind of 'mirror box' and may paradoxically heat up more than if it was left uncovered.
like other anons have said... awnings and other outer coverings are far superior. don't let the light inside in the first place if possible.

>>
>>103179674
PCB is basically a copper-fiberglass sandwich
and the copper sheets are connected with various vias and stuff, ground plane acts as a massive heat sink, so any thermal energy you poured into the board quickly get siphoned by copper traces.
if you preheat the whole thing right below the melting point, even slightest pouring of the energy is enough to make solder melt, making the job easier
like how adding counterweight makes moving things with pully easier
>>
>>103179838
Ty anon. So I assumed mostly right. This means I still need a heatgun to work parts then? Ive used a heatgun a few times but it ends up blowing the very tiny components off and its annoying. I was looking for the plate as a replacement to that.
>>
>>103179860
if you want to do BGA, you absolutely need a heat gun
if it's blowing tiny parts, you have to hold it as close to the right angle as you can while using lower airflow, or heat the board from the below, especially for those weak FPC connectors that burns itself

NTA, but i guess it depends on your luck, or how lax/corrupt is your country's custom department. i got these life-size toy glock a while ago and im actually surprised it came through.

im also impressed that the toy glock is actually 'semi-automatic', unlike most toy gun where you need to manually pull the spring with the slider. the video you see here is actually recorded slow-mo at 120fps and playback at 60fps so the actually action IRL is twice the speed. it can also load and eject shells on each trigger action just like a real gun.

>>
>>103180550
>what do yo do when you get a tshirt?
I recommend that you just wash everything in cold water on a delicate cycle unless absolutely necessary, it will make all your clothes (not just aliexpress ones) last longer.
>>103180679
Washing in hot water + hot air drying generally does the most shrinkage and damage to your clothing.
>>103180013
I would consider getting a separate hot air station and soldering iron instead. IDK if you want a soldering station or a more portable iron, but I would look into something that uses T12 tips (most of the stations are generic and all pretty similar feature wise, you could get a pinecil or whatever the newest TS100 version is for a more portable iron). T12 tips are really cheap at this point so you could easily stock up on a whole variety if you need to.
>>103179521
For a hot air station, something like an 858D is what I would recommend as an affordable option. As far as a hot plate goes, you might be better off assembling your own using a heating element such as https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256806134311878.html and a PID such as https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806823952234.html , although there's a bit of work involved it would be the most bang for your buck option since it's way cheaper to build a larger hot plate than it is to get a fully assembled one shipped.

You can get to the real store page for a dollar express item by copying the productIds and pasting it into a regular store URL. Seems like items are ~5% more expensive outside of dollar express, but it can still be worth it.

So a dollar express link like this:

Becomes this:

How come there is rarely any good reviews on AliExpress? On Amazon you can always find someone talking about something with 5 paragraph of data but on AliExpress you might be lucky to find even one person writing more than 3 sentences.

Is the correlation poor people = retarded?
>>
>>103183088
aliexpress only lets you leave a review for a limited period of time. if you wait too long you can't review
also they give out coins for reviews so it incentivizes poors and thirdies to review

e-ink price goes exponentially with increasing size, refresh time, colors. That kind of sucks. 6 inch models cost nothing, but those for reading colored A4 pdf papers cost a kidney.

Post about Chinese aspheric glasses lenses
https://post.smzdm.com/p/aeq4rz3m/

For generic Chinese clear lenses unless stated otherwise.
>Low Abbe numbers = more distortion and chromatic aberration, you might want to avoid them. Lenses/indices with lower abbe numbers:
1.56 (34), polycarbonate 1.59 (30), cheaper acrylic 1.60/1.61 (32), 1.67 (32), and 1.74 (33)
>Slightly better, you may be comfortable with them:
1.71 (36-37)
>With higher numbers (guaranteed):
1.50/1.49/plastic (58), MR-8 1.60 (40-41)
Out of the better ones, only MR-8 1.60 and 1.71 are on AliExpress. I don't know why Ali sellers don't give you clear 1.50 plastic lenses with AR coating when they're so common, but Zenni Optical (which also ships from China) has them (does anyone know cheap sites other than Zenni that sell 1.50 lenses? or that offer higher end AR?)

The stronger your prescription is, and the taller your lenses are, the more relevant Abbe numbers are to avoid distortion.
Stronger prescriptions are also more impacted by low quality AR coating, making uncorrected AR color tints more noticeable, especially if your glasses aren't tall (since you can notice the real colors outside the lenses at all times). In my experience, cheap Chinese AR can easily be better than cheap South American AR, but if you spend more you can get something locally with no noticeable tint in any situation or even better reflection blocking.

Should be common in any country offline: 1.50 (good), Trivex (good), polycarbonate (BAD), or high quality 1.60. Good lenses with other indices between 1.50 and 1.60 + low quality 1.60 might be available, check the specs for the lenses you're looking at and choose lenses with a high Abbe number (38+).
All 1.66/1.67/1.74 lenses have a low Abbe number, avoid them if you're sensitive. 1.50 and Trivex are always good, and for other indices you'll have to check the specs.

(part 1, continues with another post about index and thickness)
>>
>>103183284
(part 2)

Index = thickness. For thinner glasses at any index, make your frame PD as close as possible to your actual pupillary distance and don't get frames that are much wider than your face. Lenses with good frames for you and a 1.60 index can look thinner than lenses with bad frames for you and a 1.74 index (or 1.50 vs 1.60).
https://www.laramyk.com/resources/education/dispensing/boxing-system/

Aspheric lenses are the default type for Chinese AliExpress sellers. Double aspheric and freeform/digital can be found too, but you're taking a risk spending more for something that can become a headache (sometimes literally) so I don't recommend them.
Spheric lenses aren't offered on AliExpress. They're thicker, and practically obsolete at this point with how cheap aspheric lenses are, so don't get them from any vendor outside Ali either.

Progressive lenses are freeform/digital. Freeform lenses need to be more personalized with more measurements and seeing how the frames sit on your face, but online sellers use generic measurements instead. If you aren't lucky, you might not see well even after adjusting the height/nose bridge as a result of this, so if you need progressive lenses you might want to go with a local optician instead.
But it's probably worth trying anyway since in many countries, 2 metal frames + progressive lenses from AliExpress sellers, Zenni Optical, Eyebuydirect and so on cost roughly as much as one metal frame from a local optician. So in case the lenses you receive are trash and the seller won't give you a replacement, then at worst, you have two frames you can reglaze and might not have lost any money in comparison.

After receiving frames from an online store, you'll probably want to adjust some parts of them, maybe even the base curve and pantoscopic tilt. I recommend going to an optician with good reviews (even if you weren't a customer), but you'll find tutorials online, the common theme is: use hot water and cover the lenses.

Found the newfag!
Back in the day, delivery times used to be measured in months. 2 weeks used to be unheard of and days impossible.
I miss those times.
Way more surprising to get something after months. Also, tracking was way more fun, with all the weird routes it was doing in leftover cargo space of various passenger planes.hell, one time, my package even took the train, all the way from China to the wrong end of the EU! That was fun.
But nowadays?
It’s almost as fast as Amazon on a shitty week, where’s the fun in That?
>>
>>103183483
I don't know anon. I've never had trouble deciphering dates but that's probably because I'm blessed.
01/08/2024

Intrinsically, I know what these represent.
I still prefer epoch time though - I don't need to care what timezone you're in, something happened (or is going to happen) at X seconds and that's that.
>>
>>103177508
it probably cost them less than 1 to make.
>>
>>103183446
I fucking hate glasses. It's almost De Beers levels of monopoly and acquisition from manufacturing to sellers to opticians. The branded stuff from a store was no better than a cheap shit pair from zenni.

The Meebook M7 is a relatively cheap android ereader, it's 7" so the screen is just right for most manga imo.
Also eink displays are expensive cause only one company makes them, and no-one else seems to want to break into the market cause it's fair niche.

2.61 MB
2.61 MB JPG
so the rest of >>103065078 arrived today and here is my take on the two more interesting items. pic related is not to scale, the mat is larger than the slippers
the cat mat is cute and fluffy, it kinda like a weird velvet (longer more coarse and sparse fibers). it was clearly silkscreen printed, as you can see on the right side whisker where ive run my hand against the fabric normal "orientation". the bottom is some sort of semihard fibrous compressed tissue, not rubber, so im not sure there would be good a get-out-of-the-shower mat, thing might slip once wet. it does look like it belongs on the sink or the toilet areas. definitely worth the $3.
the slippers are actually a size 42 (europoor. same as mens 9.5 burger? not sure), despite having 45 molded on the thread rubber, must be the chink size. quite well made, the bottom is even stitched to the rest instead of glued (ive seen expensive name brand snikers that had fake stitching, *cough*adidas*cough*). fluffy and cozy. the top parts must have some kind of thing plastic vapor barrier on the inside of it because it kinda sounds faintly like a thin plastic piece is crumbling between the fabric layers with every step you take. not sure what the reasoning by zhang for this is but it was cheap and nice.
the other items are not very interesting, the metal thing to pick up pans without a handle is actually quite nice, its just two pieces of 1mm thicc stamped aluminium and its spring loaded. the stainless cutting board is also just a 1mm thicc stainless, cut using a mold press, there is some burs on one of the round edges. the handle for scalpel blades is supper noice, thicc metal parts, nice detent and easy to operate.
for anything else ask away
>>
>>103185244
>delivery estimates just bullshit?
yes.
Usually it comes quicker than that but they just want to cover their ass in case international shipping goes wrong, which is often enough.
Also part of the reason is aliexpress has no control once items enter into your country.
