I'm sure lots of people get lots of different things out of pokemon but I think the biggest core selling point of pokemon is, well, the pokemon. the original tagline was "gotta catch them all", which was really the center of the gameplay loop. you want to see all the pokemon, you want to catch all the pokemon, then you spend enough time with your team of pokemon that you get 'attached' to them. thats why every generation of the game has 100+ new pokemon, cuz thats what brings people into the game

but if you're not into that stuff, its not a particularly remarkable franchise otherwise. not really challenging, weak storytelling, nothing technically impressive or groundbreaking. its all about the rng and the charm of the pokemans

depends on what you want from a model and what you like to make. I think sd35 can be more creative but flux has a more active ecosystem, including brand new tooling that BFL just released. there's also even newer options like sana which haven't really been explored yet. interestingly though, what seems to have captivated more people is the illustrious model line, which is sdxl based. so it really just comes down to whats gonna work best for whatever you wanna do

What is forge UI? Its new to me, I installed stable diffusion a while back and I didn't need any kind of UI. I did actually watch a YouTube video on how to install it and I believe he said it doesn't work for stable diffusion 3.5 large and that is the newest and best one right? stable diffusion is the AI model. its basically a blackbox chunk of code that takes in a prompt and spits out an image. the model plugs into a UI like forge or comfy, and the UI surfaces all the various parameters and workflows that can affect the way the model behaves. you can additionally plug different models into a UI, like flux or sd variants. the model and the UI are separate but supporting parts of your setup

the reason I suggest forge UI specifically is just because it's somewhat intuitive and fairly well documented. comfyui is another option but its more difficult to warm up to and learn the ropes of

regarding sd35, you may not want to skip straight to it. its the newest sd entry but its also light on community support and tooling. its also pretty big, so working with it can be slow on a lot of hardware. sdxl is generally a better option because its a nice mix of quality and light-weight, while also giving you the option to branch out in a lot of different ways once you get your bearings

what's the current best method to have a chatbot that 1. can "read" images, so if i post an image it can describe it (within current model limits of course), and 2 (optional) i can tell it to prompt and gen an image?
using sillytavern/koboldcpp backend currently, but not sure how i'd go about it there.

SD 3.5 Medium seems to actually have better stability of composition at the higher end of its resolution range, I'm finding. Perfect hand first try in this direct 1088x1920 gen

I think you need to make a special workflow in cumrag for this, at least crop the analyzed area to smallest possible. Using latent mask. Then add the result to the original using copy and using your original mask.
Bit like in compositing software. You can always combine the results later again.
