My physical therapist mentioned today that he needs a new PC since is old one is ~5 years old (Ryzen 2600X, RTX 2050 or 2060, 16 GB). He does alot of 4k editing in Adobe Premiere and has a budget of up to 2.5k €. He wants a prebuilt due to warranty and not wanting to deal with putting it together himself since he would have no idea what he’s doing.

It piqued my interested – what kind of CPU/GPU/RAM configuration could he get for 2.5k € from a prebuilt for said video editing?
>>

Why would I do that? He wants one with warranty, I'm not around much longer here since I'm moving back to my appartment 100+ km away once I can drive my car again in 2-3 weeks and all my therapy gets completely paid by my health insurance.

can you run 4k165hz 10bit and everything on a HDMI 2.1 48gbps connection?
I would assume so since the tvs next year gonna run it

if so the msi 321up is a possible buy if you wanna skip dsc shenanigans if you can run the hdmi2.1 port for no dsc, it goes for the same price as the Samsung G8 here currently too, but it's not 240hz like the others

Looking for a new motherboard to pair with 9800x3d (I'm retarded, it was in stock for an hour yesterday and I didn't buy it for some reason and it's out again).
The Steel Legend is barely available here and it's quite expensive.
Since Gigabyte has a cashback promotion, I've been eyeing the b650 eagle, but it only has 1Gbit ethernet (my internet is 600Mbit), any other pcie port that isn't main is just 3.0x1 that fits x16 (I'm not going to put in anything other than GPU), USB doesn't matter much since I have a 10 port hub.
Now I'm looking at B650 Aorus Elite AX V2, which is 50$ more than the eagle, but 50$ less than steel legend and still pretty comparable, but just doesn't have pcie 5.0. We're not really likely to reach the limits of 4.0 for the next like 10 years are we, so it should be fine right?
I only have 1 NVME drive, so I don't really need 3 m.2 slots, but I'm really easily upsold.
Still open for any other suggestion though.

how is this a surprise? if monitors could run without DSC they wouldn't bother with it at all
while HDMI 2.1 can technically handle 144hz, it's so close to maximum spec that it's bound to have issues if your cable sucks or if the HDMI chip in the monitor caps at ~40gbps

it's probably due to DSC + multi-monitor setups exceeding GPU capabilities
obviously because of omega retards on the internet never describing their exact issues and setups it's impossible to figure out the culprit

Linking some videos is not good enough. Which ones do you propose and why?

From the first video: the B850/X870 summary is a good reason why they are not that interesting.
>B850 is exactly the same B650 except for a PCIE5 M2 slot
>X870(E) has some small benefits like USB4
Most people do not need or want USB4
or PCIe5 M2 or x16.

A lot of ISP companies aren't even shipping Wifi7 yet and most people use their ISP's router.

In addition, there are also B650 and X670 boards with the PCIe5 M2 slot.

Second video:
>A lot of these boards, are very well designed, and pat great features, but are also hideously expensive. "You need to be in need of those features for the price to be justifiable"

Third video:
>We didn't do any benchmarks because there is no difference with B650/X670
>The only real advantage to these boards in the (mandatory, me) USB4 support, but there were already 600 series borads with USB4 support

The videos you link seem to argue against advising them lol. The B650/X670 are almost the same, and just as good.

Also, B850 ain't even out yet. And there are more X870(e) boards coming and prices are still stabilizing.

Heatsinks for SSDs are just for the higher speed ones if memory serves me right, nothing to do with the actual storage size.
>>
>>103356208
For the newer high speed ones. Especially gen5 that needs them.
Your board should have them covering the slots though.
>>
>>103356254
You you need one it will likely come shipped with one. Also, a lot of motherboards already come with their own heatsinks.
>>
>>103356228
Your cpu needs power. Your wall provides 110-240V Alternatic Current. Your Power Supply Unit converts the wall power into 12 Volt Direct Current. But your cpu works at only 1V DC. So the motherboard has to chop the 12V up into 1V and smooth it out. The part of the board that fulfills this task is called VRM.
When your VRM doesn't have enough components to pass all the current your cpu needs it will overheat, and the board will lower your clock speed. Or doesn't, search MSI Krait fire on youtube.

My local e-shops raised prices highter than usual and they're selling everything, Asrock B650M HDV/M.2 now costs 250 euro and nearly sold out everywhere, Montech Titan Gold 850W peaked at 230 euros yesterday (outpricing Titan Gold 1000W at that moment, which stays at 225 euros) and today is out of stock.Sheeps thought "Uuhhh, it's Black Friday, time to go shopping!" and they swept everything, even crazy priced. Shopkeepers must be swimming in coins like Donald Duck by now. I cannot wait until Black Friday hype ends and everything goes back to normal so I can finally buy something.

I'm actually coming from Lian li fans, I think their rgb controller died or something since they reverted to the default rainbow puke and refuse to change color. Plus, I had them setup as white background light with a moving blue one, but the white part quickly became yellow less than a year after I bought them, and every now and then their motors decide to make noise as if they're breaking only to stop randomly. Utter disappointment for what I paid for them
Any recommended ones for Corsair/Phanteks/Cooler Master? For my other radiator + back of the caseI'm already using 4 LL120, and I'm not sure if my commander core xt has slots for two more fans (I also have my pump attached to that)

So if my motherboard doesn’t have enough VRM it will catch fire? What do I do to avoid that other than getting another motherboard?
>>
>>103356357
They don't catch fire, it will lower your clock speed.
This is why you see people complain about unoptimized games.
You avoid it by using a motherboard capable of supplying your cpu with all the current it needs.

>>103354790

I'm not sure how NVIDIA's going to fix this issue even with the RTX 5090, PSU manufacturers already invested in this shit.
If anyone's planning to buy a 5090, set at least a 400~450W power limit on that card until a few idiots start melting their new card.
>>
>>103356373
if i am buying a $2k video card im not limiting it like a fucking retard

i'm going to use it the way it was meant to be used and if it melts i'm getting it fixed

My mobo only came with this m2 clip and no separate stand off. This alone should be good right? Since it seems especially made for that.
>>
>>103356368
And how do I know if my motherboard is capable of supplying my cpu with all the current it needs?
>>
>>103355905
Yes, all the old, low-quality OLED monitors with LG panels, which have a poor sub-pixel layout, were on sale. Enjoy your shitty fonts, anon
>>
>>103356373
I don't understand you guys. NVIDIA sells stacks upon stacks of these cards with evne higher power limits to datacenters. If those aren't melting why are the consumer ones melting?

The most logical reasoning is that it's not actually that widespread of an issue. Molex connectors melt all the time but nobody ever wants to bring that up.

it doesn't matter too much for DP1.4/HDMI2.0 because they're low bandwidth, but yeah HDMI/DP2.1 are a pain in the ass with cables.
you have to keep the cable length short otherwise you'll run into all sorts of issues from poor qc and inexistant certifications.

Even Fractal's option costs as much as the Noctua A12x25 chromax.black fan.

Cooler Master designs, produces, and tests these fans in their factory.
Corsair RS140 is a bit too pricey.

So i've just slapped some new ram into my system because it was cheap and i'm having stability issues and bluescreens. It's definitely seated correctly.
mobo is a b350
cpu r5 1600
gone from 16gb 3000mhz ram to 32gb 3600mhz. Is ram frequency being too high for the cpu a thing? when i go into the bios and manually set frequency to 3400 instead i'm getting less errors and crashes.

the ram frequency is too high for the cpu's memory controller. ryzen 1000 caps out at 3000-3200.

I would let Lisa Su peg me if she stayed with me for a weekend in bed.

Saturday would just be constant fucking with cuddles and kissing in between. Not leaving bed, save for necessary piss breaks before quickly returning to plunge back under the covers, taking refuge from the cold in each other's warm embrace

Breakfast wouldn't cross our minds until 9pm, and we'd both lose 5lbs from fucking and starving together, only ingesting each other's spit. She'd continue to figuratively glow in her black latex, shoelace, and sheer satin outfits. Beaming like an idol.

Sunday morning we'd leave bed and go outside in oversized winter jackets and boots. She'd hand me a cigarette and light both of ours like in a film. I have never even smoked before, but rolling with the dizzying theme of degeneracy, and medical grade limerence (and not to mention dietary hunger), I wouldn't stir. Trying not to cough, I'd glance at her for indirect instruction while she gazed at the sky across the silent, dim, snowy street.

Come Sunday evening, both our lustful teenage hearts, anticipating the big Monday to come - meetings with PMs, TSMC engineers, press conferences - real life - would have her departure whirling in both our minds, or at least just mine.

Finally, when I'm nodding off at 8pm from hunger and lethargy from the cigarettes, sore jaw, and empty balls, she'd dress in her usual grey tailored blazer and trousers, pack up her lingerie soiled in spunk, saliva and sweat, and quietly vanish when I thought she was just out of bed using the washroom

I'd wake up Monday morning, the curtain allowing an inch of sunlight to cast on the foot of my bed, children shouting outside, and the clock hands piercing the deafening stillness indoors, not knowing what the fuck is real, except that my weekend with Lisa Su would never happen again, cus she's just one of those girls
>>

>Will I be staring at myself in the face when the screen goes black during movies and games?
in a dark room no, if you have light reflecting on it then yes slightly. I find my glossy qd-oled to be less "mirror"-reflective than my LG TVs, might just be because of the bigger size reflecting more light

if yes, pick the cheapest that's at least B650(E) Steel Legend and above (X870 Pro RS, X870 Steel Legend, X870E Nova etc). msi tomahawks are fine too I think

it will work without issue, it's just more of a budget board and I'd assume anyone building a PC with a 9800x3D might require more than what it offers

you've already spent $500 for the 9800x3D, but you'd be fine potentially kneecapping yourself over $50?

>it doesn't matter too much for DP1.4
I mean the fuck ups might be coming from them if they are using dsc too and pretty much at the limits of the cables, that's what I was thinking
and you add dsc shenanings ontop.. idk
>those motherfuckers also cost a shit-ton if you need any length above 2m
certified active optical cables start off high as hell and the lenght doesn't seem to add that much, atleast here, idk

>it's good, samsung matte coating is FAR better than the matte WOLED monitors
I have not yet seen a single matte woled irl as far as I can tell, again comparing it to the semigloss qdoleds I mean, idk, both work but it seems the matte removes some contrast and color and blacks in a direct comparision... could be the differnet monitor configs slightly
these choices are impossible... or I buy nothing and cope for a year more (I don't own a single stand alone display)

>you can somewhat "reduce" the ABL if you fuck around in its service mode, afaik it's the only one that lets you mod that
Tizen seems... idk. I hear you can go into the service menu and disable the always popping up gamebar thing with the same service remote as for the tvs
I hear Tizen fucks around and fucks up when settings change some times and stuff, too much to remember
every vendor has software bugs it seems, everything is fucked
rtings even lists software bugs under negatives in other monitors, namely the asus 480 I think it was, not this one
so wonder how bad things are

I can't decide, tired

just remembering the crazy price drop of pg32ucdm and the guys that bought it, it never recovered.... tired
BUT..... this samsung is still 174€ lower than the deepest price drop of the asus, is usb-c, kvm, gloss worth that much? idk

maybe considering in the future when you wanna pick up another one for dual monitors if you can get the same model and it's getting price dropped again and cheaper than the rest , that's another downside to the c4,alot of space if you wanna run dual monitors

>fuck ups might be coming from them if they are using dsc too
in that sense yeah, but at least DP1.4 cables and chips don't struggle at reaching the maximum bandwidth like 2.1 cables do
>lenght doesn't seem to add that much
I mean they're just expensive in general, it's annoying especially considering they're so fucking FRAGILE
the LG OLED I use for movies sits a bit far from my PC so I use a 7.5meters cable and I've had to replace it 5 times already cause it keeps on dying randomly (certified fiber btw)
>not yet seen a single matte woled
matte woled looks like shit, it's the only thing you should actively avoid no matter what. qd-oled default coating is still more glossy than "semi" or whatever, it just reflects a bit less than the glass layer on the LG TVs
>Tizen fucks around and fucks up
its okay, I only played around with the 4k G8 for a bit but nothing stood out to me.
it's probably a much more popular monitor than the other ones by virtue of being from Samsung, I wouldn't be surprised if the average owner IQ of those was just really low and would explain why they get so much negativity
>dual monitors
don't bother unless you somehow find monitors with DP2.0/2.1 and get a 5000 series GPU, dual DSC 4k is a big black screen shitfest

>I can't decide, tired
don't overthink it papi, just buy one and send it back.
>>
>>103357263
Good choice anon.
>>103357304
Probably because its more expensive? Over here, 7900x and 9700x are the same price if you can believe it.

Lol, I have dc ag620. The pattern cannot be seen. You put fans over them on one side and the other side is facing the io shield.

It's not 2006 anymore grandpa
>>
>>103357393
even if the game uses only 6 cores, having two spare saves you from stutters
>>
>>103357430
I thought the stutter had more to do with memory bandwidth? how do extra cores help with stutter?
>>
>>103357368
>but at least DP1.4 cables and chips don't struggle at reaching the maximum bandwidth like 2.1 cables do
I mean hdmi2.1 has 50% more bandwidth than dp1.4 so copper cables are gonna get cucked faster at longer distance, and this problem was solved by active optical cables anyway, not sure I've seen any for dp1.4, maybe cause they are used at so short distances for pc anyway it's important

>it's annoying especially considering they're so fucking FRAGILE
never considered this, tech is just shit overall it seems, every day you learn about tech actually being shit
>I've had to replace it 5 times already cause it keeps on dying randomly (certified fiber btw)
sounds bad indeed

>it's probably a much more popular monitor than the other ones by virtue of being from Samsung
every single large retailer here had it as the cheapest 4k240qdoled, woleds I don't think I even saw single one on sale in bf except foreign shops, the only thing that could compete was the aw32 if you had the -10% code

price hierarchy this bf
aw32(with code)>g8>aw32 without code>asus(with erroneous price drop)>gigabyte>msi>asus>gigabyte with the meme dp2.1

c4 42=g8=aw32

>dual DSC 4k is a big black screen shitfest
why? should handle it, populate all 4 "ranks" of the gpu, anything more and I would understand problems start happening
and I saw multiple people already running dual qdoleds and buying double ones during bf to use too
just don't use the physical connections on the gpu right next to each other?
have you tried this?
another knock to the dsc jew if true

>just buy one and send it back.
waste of time and sales are running out if you pick the wrong one, it's over soon
>>
>>103357420
You can put the fans on the other side.

Thanks, I can comfortably order this stuff now. I last minute decided to go with an XFX SWFT 7800 instead because I get 5% back on my Amazon card and it's the same price.

It's a 'gift item' on Newegg so I went with it.
