They should stay on Windows/MacOS. If the normies actively go to Linux where it's harder to spy on them, the ruling class will try everything to destroy linux from the inside or to ban it from personal computers or whatever. Even if they don't, it'll just end up being shit like everything that is normified.
The people who know, they already know. No need to shill for Linux.
I want normies to watch ads in Win11 start menu. I want them to be as clueless as possible about anything tech-related.
Just like I don't want normies to be able to use adblock on YT for example, as it leads to anti-adblock measures, that you can still counter when you're elite (tm) but still.
I value my comfort online much more than the joy of seeing Microsoft or Google crashing.

Just recommend them Trisquel or any other FSF-approved distro, they will either achieve gnosis or fuck back to windows because "muh leenooks don't contain no firmware blobs, muh wifi / GPU drivers saarrrr".

>linux has been way too good for the past 5 years or so
My experience is that it has got a bit shit over that time frame in that it lags and crashes.
Granted I use hardware that is >10 years old, but i always have and that never used to be an issue.

Normies don't use either anyway. They use Android and iOS, maybe Chromebooks at a push but those effectively run a version of Android anyway now.
MacOS still has a use case for professionals who want the functionality of Linux, but don't want the instability of an OS coded and maintained by a bunch of neets on the verge of either fucking or killing each other. Red Hat could easily fall into this niche as well if IBM were capable of ever getting their shit together.
Microsoft is just fucked. They think they're making an OS for the sort of professionals who use Macs, when in actuality only pc gamers and corpos who want to cheap out to their workforce with a bunch of shitty Surface Go tablets. One of these customer bases is on borrowed time so long as Valve remain stingy about who can use SteamOS.

You cannot destroy something that has no integrity. You're thinking too highly of your commie grift.

Counterpoint: If not enough people use Linux, it's a lot easier for the ruling class to enact laws and rules that make Linux impossible to use. If law X only affects 1% of people on the internet, who cares? But if law X affected 15% of the people, they'd have to be more careful.

As an example, as governments in Europe adopt Linux more, it removes power from Microsoft and provides leverage to insist on open standards.

Just move to BSD if you don't like them.

Nah, I want to proliferate as much digital freedom as possible.

If governments wanted to ban Linux, I believe they would have already done so.

I'm inclined to disagree, but you do have a point. There is no reason in switching to Linux for "privacy reasons" if you're going to use proprietary shit like Google Chrome.

yes, we need a sweet spot. i believed that's where we currently are
