Why do so many professionals who use Linux at work use a MacBook in their personal life?
personal preference, just like many people who use mac for work might use windows or linux
>>108352682GOD DAMN IT, i forgot to sage your faggot thread
>>108352665They're only in it for the money and don't actually like computer technology, nor are they interested in learning about it or using it beyond whatever bare minimum their paycheck demands of them.
>>108352665It's because they are deeply closeted homosexuals
>>108352665Linux rarely comes pre-installed, and most computer users can't install any OS. Even Linus creator Linux Sebastian finds Pop OS! difficult to install, so he's stuck using Fedora.
>>108352682>people who use mac for work might use windowsLiterally never happened. Every single person I've seen that uses mac never choose windows by personal preference.
>>108352665They appreciate Linux/Unix workflow, but probably need certain proprietary software that is only available on Mac. Also Macbooks are pretty comfy and probably the best consoomer ARM portable machines today. I know a few people that really like Linux on the server side, but use a Macbook for private use. They like to play around with some socs, old thinkpads and their homelab, but their daily driver is a macbook.I'd probably do the same. I love linux and I'd never go back to MS, but I'm interested in a Macbook. If the ARM Laptop situation doesn't get better, I might look into a Macbook. Looks pretty comfy with a unix base + brew. But I hate the walled garden.
>>108353749I'm the same and considering the Neo but I don't trust apple not to be niggerlicious and ruin macOS somehow
>>108353749Have you use a macbook before? I find Linux to be much better for software development.Overall I prefer NT to Unix, so to me a mac is the worst of both worlds.
MacBook air is the best portable computer this decade. MacOS is Unix and very solid and stable. Tons of my Linux workflows literally just work on itFor more serious work of course I have a Linux machine but apple really got good this decade
>>108352665I wish I could use linux at work. Fuckers are making me use windows so best I can do is WSL.
>>108353876Nice, but honestly, don't get the Mac Neovagina, from what I saw, it isn't worth it.>>108353882>Have you use a macbook before?I never daily drove one, but I had to use Macs in the past + friends and family.>I find Linux to be much better for software development.I prefer Linux as well. I'm just saying that IF I'd switch, I'd probably go with a Mac. I'm just frustrated, that there aren't any good Linux ARM alternatives atm. I hope that the Qualcom situation gets better... I'd love to get a powerful Linux ARM Laptop. But it seems like a Macbook is the best deal (for now). No neovagina or air fryer tho.
>>108353739My friend uses Macs at work, and Windows at home. Doesn't rly like Windows, but he's a gamer, who also needs Adobe shit due to work. So Windows it is, ig.
