>>109221506>>File deletion, totally brokenMissinformation, file deletion is NOT broken. What they broke is cosmetic, it's just correct name labeling when deleting a file.No the filename is not lost, the way the filename is shown is broken when emptying the recycle bin. Your austistic tantrums won't fly since they will never call you again. You work with what is given, do your best and move on because the moment you mention to buy licenses for server version, pirate or do some funky autism shit, You Are OUT. 20 year IT veteran btw
>>109224261>look, you people should live in real worldSaaaaaaaar
>>109224261also most small businesses tend to call AFTER they bought a computer, settled in it by having their nephew/family friend help and then when something breaks call you. You arrive at a scene where any mention of reinstalling anything is met with heavy resistance so you can't just autism tantrum a solution by doing things that the clowns above mentioned.
best way of creating regular customers is to arrive, fix the problem with no complaints, feel them out if they would be open for suggestions and only then suggest upgrades or leave. Some customers will take their business serious and invest in buying and setting up a server and/or enterprise clients others will feel insulted that their free or cheap mail/cloud solution isn't enough to store vital information that they just lost.>but it worked before? why should I pay more now?>I touched nothing!>my friend friend said that..>usually everything just goes here, make it go here!the fun never ends
>>109224299>You arrive at a scene where any mention of reinstalling anything is met with heavy resistanceThat's insanity. It takes maybe 45 minutes to an hour to get a fresh install set up with a script. Another transfer script (or professional shit if your MSP isn't whack) and you're done. If it's going to take you longer than that just reinstall the OS if you're physically at the computer.Dicking around with the registry as a deployment method should be scripted as well.
>>109224383A lot and I mean a lot of small offices still run windows xp/7 with custom written spaghetti code software that manages their tooling or systems, reinstalling and migrating to fresh OS becomes flying to the moon undertaking since the software is severely obsolete
Why do people accept the enjeetification of software? Programs are tens of thousands of times slower and more bloated than they need to be thanks to jeets.

>Disabling updates
>perfectly configured>firewall disabled>WinAero Tweaker>updates disabled>for a customerAnon you should be kept away from doing anything on other people's computers. What WinUtil does is all that anyone needs, WinAero Tweaker is good for smaller non-invasive niceties like changing the desktop icon grid size. What you did is you've made a ticking timebomb that needs constant maintenance, not something a client would ever want. All that people need to have a sane Win11 experience is the sort of minimal gut that WinUtil does. Disable consumer features, uninstall unneeded software, disable unneeded services, be left with a lean base that'll autoupdate as usual, have Windows Firewall and Windows Defender running as usual. Anything more and you're doing more harm than good. I've set people's computers up like this and there have been zero complaints. 99% of the reasons people hate Windows are the things that won't return after disabling/removing even on updates, and it's the sort of stuff that >>109225092 mentioned. I've experienced it first hand, people don't know how to disable the weather widget and are constantly annoyed by it, and it's like 4-5 clicks away in a GUI. Microsoft gives you an easy way to disable it but people suffer from learned helplessness so they just live with it and complain.
>>109225629I mean why would you want any windows updates that haven't been tested for at least 6 months. These jeeted updates are far too dangerous.
>>109221392>aero tweakerThis is bait right?>>109225318>There's no such thing as "updates were forced disabled"Correct. "Forced disabled" doesn't exist and screams retard alert. >>109226310>could you make it look more like windows 7?You can do that, but that shit is a hack and it can break anytime. You need to know that and explain to clients that they will need to pay for more tech support in the future if you do it.Why not just install Windows 10? It has free updates until 2028 (at least) and looks more like 7 and it breaks less and it's faster. There are very few PCs which actually need Windows 11.
>>109226458because the average Joe don't want to know anything you tell them, they got a computer and they want it to do things a certain way, if you start explaining why X and Y is better they zone out and label you as typical greedy asshole trying to squeeze them
>>109226548Same shit happens in bike shops, people bring garbage walmart bikes for mechanic to assemble, if you tell them it's unsafe and garbage and that you should invest in something better they label you as a greedy jew and go somewhere else. Freelance IT is no different.
>>109226559>>109226548He didn't say you should talk to them. He just said you should install something that isn't a bunch of unstable hacks. You can install Windows 10 and activate years of ESU for free, then pop on OpenShell if you really feel the need to. Boom, you're done, and nothing like you described in your OP will happen again.
The tragedy of current microslop is that everything come preinstalled with vibe coded mess and things you took for granted like disabling bloat requires third party software, so who gives a shit which jeetinker 2000 debloater software you use anyway? that is not the issue here. Microsoft vibe coding their OS that used to carefully considered legacy compatibility is the problem and there is no alternative since people with macs go to apple store and people with linux will DIY their shit anyway so your customers are all 100% affected by the poor updates.>>109226607you don't know to the lengths some users will go to fuck up their systems "accidentally" not to mention other tech support messing with your shit too it also don't help that sneaky microsoft scripts constantly bombarding users with prompts that could re-enable updates or fuck with group policies too, so never say never unless you disconnect form internet completely.

>>109227618What makes you think that automating a bunch of scripts is the culprit? do you niggers even read the thread? The verdict is: if your windows 11 is old enough to not have ungodly amount of recent vibe jeet code in it (like my install from 2 years ago for example) any debloater or tweaks still function correctly but if you are unlucky to have one of the latest updates there is no guarantee it won't break by itself randomly. I don't know if this is a Windows Enterprise thing or what, but somehow my IT department has locked down my Windows 11 work laptop so I only receive updates when they push them.
