the socket itself is fine, but CEE 7/7 is the better plug type
>>
>>109974026
They aren't, it's less convenient than being on one standard voltage but they've never been stuck exclusively on 110V. You can (if your jurisdictions building code allows it, i.e. anywhere outside of cities like chicago is fine) wire your house 220V in america, it's just that it would be an uniquely dumb thing to do because you need the more expensive and rare, 220V nema plugs to not accidentally plug in something that's designed for 110V and then import small appliances from overseas because no one manufactures appliances designed for 220V at home and rewire them.
>>
>>109974111
These are nice but they need to be gone sooner than later, 2 standards is worse than 1. Poland and France already begun phasing them out, belgium is next. Shitalians are doing their own thing.
>>
>>109973920
These plugs can't decide which gender they are. Germany banned that kind of stuff. So going forward they would have created a new standard, one which conforms to natural gender norms.

This is a good thing, you can plug it however you want much like an USB-C, why would you list it as a bad thing?

>Equal length ground and hot pins
Why is this a bad thing?

>Feeble little needle pins
They're not feeble at all, I'd need to apply some serious force to it to twist them, and even then they don't break.

>Confined to a country that peaked during the punic wars
This is irrelevant to the design itself which arguably better than its retarded round counterparts. Much like USB was better than its counterparts and it eventually became the norm.
>>
>>109973920
We lost the war too but most appliances here come with this thing anyway.
I always cut it off and replace it with type L thoughbeit. It voids the warranty but it doesn't matter since jews only allow things to break after it's expired.
>>
>>109974860
Not having polarity can be a massive issue with terribly designed appliances of which I assure you there are more than you can imagine. The classic example is a toaster with live ribs in the middle that shocks you when you touch them, this of course depends on you buying low quality dogshit designed by people with no considerations about safety but there are plenty of mistakes that can arise from not having polarity slipping through the QA even in high end products.
Because the ground pins should always break connection last to allow for your RCD to work if you accidentally rip the wire out of the socket or something.
Maybe I'm biased because it looks like the 2 pin option that we have that always bends, I believe it is compatible with your garbage hence I call it feeble.
Yes it is relevant, it's a pain in the ass to have to manufacture your own plugs (or commission them for a markup), sockets, wire them to appliances and that's why your shitaly is switching to shuko.
>>

out of all the only argument is it being feeble. I used it for a while because of reasons and it's kinda shit. schuko is king.
the only electrically better one is the british one but that's fucking huge and retarded. hence why I like shuko more. used those for a while but don't really like them in practice, they're kinda retarded, don't fully plug into the socket, it's like americans/italians it stays outside.
schuko grips it all around as it all slides in, and is more secure.

Ideally you want ground to make contact first and break contact last, so your shit is always grounded when you're plugging or unplugging it. That way if something on the inside went wrong, you don't suddenly become the shortest path to ground.

You mean 400? As in 3x230V plus a ground?
In my country every dog house has three 230V phases so you could in theory jerry rig a 400V "power socket" for a welding machine for example but not all Euro countries do that. Norway and some french speaking countries make the 230 volts from two 133V or whatever lines so idk how their stuff is rigged for 400V.

It's literally the opposite. Designing appliances that rely on polarity can be a massive issue. That's why nobody does it.

Since neither manufacturers nor consumers can rely on the polarity being right under any circumstances, using a polarized plug system is nothing but a humiliation ritual that is less convenient for zero benefit. It is objectively bad design.

I don't know enough about other euro countries so I'm just going to mention the building I live in is just connected to the local network by a single thick cable that goes into a 3-way split near the entrance, and the 3 less thick lines coming out of it then each branch off into a set of apartments. All of it is 230VAC, I've seen it being installed.
>>
The American plug is the best because we were actually able to get our neighbors to agree on them and use them. While the Europeans just all collectively decided to all reinvent the wheel for no fucking reason. I'd have more respect for it if Europe had one standard. There's good no reason for Italians and French people not to have the same socket. The fact that nobody in Europe thought it was a good idea to talk to the countries neighboring them or try to establish a socket standard outside their nations is just silly.

Can some non retard correct me but:

I don't think any plug that has parrelel lines could be considered good.

If you make them vertical then someing falling into them can't create a connection.

For wall outlets only.

Pic related
>>
>>109986245
That problem is solved in the Schuko design by having the socket recessed. The prongs on the plug are physically too short to touch the contacts in the socket while still being exposed. The plug will physically cover and close off the socket before contact is made, so it's not possible to touch a prong while it is live, as a prong that is exposed at all is always disconnected.

The pins don't need to be strong due to the recessed socket. Could hang yourself on a plugged in Schuko extension cord.
>>
>>109983386
>Schuko does not guarantee it. French do.
The French plug doesn't guarantee polarity either. Any socket might be wired up with a reverse polarity.
>>
>>109986539
In fact neither any other socket. Idiocy of man cannot be surpassed.

The reason for Schuko design is diffferent than for French. Schuko originally had each hole live with 110V against Ground and 220V against each other with only one pin for Neutral and Ground (TN-C, upper and lower pins are connected). Frenchies had 220V against Neutral and Ground, each has own contact (TN-C/TN-S). So the full french is more secure than german one. And aestethically better.

But the best example of shit is socket "I" - Australia, New Zealand. In Argentina and Uruguay are live and neutral on the opposite holes than in original norm.

Not having polarity is a safety feature, anon. A schuko socket does not necessarily have a neutral wire; it may have two 115V wires with 230V between them. Any schuko appliance MUST be designed with the assumption that BOTH ends are dangerous. Designing for that requirement leads to safer appliances even in the case when one end is safe.
