Moore's law is finished forev...
>>
>>63728895
Best game.
>>
>>63728903
Ikr!
>>
>>63728907
Fast paced, great design, ran on everything even on computers of that time.

Today we have Overwatch and other money grabbing games with the same mechanics but only different design.
What went wrong?
>>
Moore's law finished long ago. If it applied we would have 500ghz processors by now.
>>
>>63728937
you seem to be under the impression that anyone on /g/ gives a fuck about your gaymer blog

Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament and to a lesse extent, CS 1.6 were peak multiplayer FPS. No loot crates, no DLC, no faggot twitch streaming le pro gaym0r shit - gaming tournaments aside of course but that's where it belongs.

also what device can take advantage of a 400gb microSD?
>>
>>63728780
>Moore's law
Probably the most useless poc written in a paper.
Loore's law: density and perf will increase by 50% in a certain amount of time
Moore's law: no, it will increase 100%
Noore's law: no, it will increase 150%
Ooore's law: 12GiB of ram will be enough for anyone.

Muh fucking predictions 'n' shiet.
>>
>>63728780
> 400GB
> not 512
It is indeed finished.
>>
>>63728984
Not really. /g/ is full of sad neckbeard virgins.
>>
>>63728780
Yes, it is finished.
We can't make transistors smaller.

But we can go up, and up we will go.
>>
>>63729140
I can't wait for the day when the actual motherboard is one big CPU.
>>
>>63729531
Do you think AMD would be MAD enough to do that?
>>
>>63729544
I'm still waiting for a manufacturer mad enough to integrate RAM and CPU on one package(like EPYC does with core clusters).
>>
>>63729587
Just wait the stacked ram thing to be a bit less bothersome and you will get just that.
>>
>>63728992
>Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament and to a lesse extent, CS 1.6 were peak multiplayer FPS. No loot crates, no DLC, no faggot twitch streaming le pro gaym0r shit - gaming tournaments aside of course but that's where it belongs.
They were also barely a fraction of the cost it take to make fps's now. Fucking CS is a mod. It's the price we pay for 4 hour campaigns and muh epic graphics

>>
>>63728971
No, you could make 500ghz processors but it would catch fire even if you could figure out how to deliver that much power.
>>
>>63730002
well, you can make a 500ghz processor that doesn't cook itself, just not a very complex one.
>>
>>63730002
So what you’re saying is that you can’t make 500ghz processors.
>>
>>63728992
>also what device can take advantage of a 400gb microSD?
Probably any that can take advantage of a 256GB one.
>>
>>63730033
Yeah, but that's not because of Moore's law being untrue.
And see >>63730031
>>
>>63728971

If you equate Moore's Law with pure clock speed, then you don't understand Moore's Law.
>>
>>63729035

Says something about their yields at this process node.
>>
Does Moore's law state that computing power will increase indefinitely?
If so, then he's lying motherfucker.
t.didn't read wikipedia page about it

Memory doesn't count at all. Defect-tolerant structures with extreme regularity (memory) are much easier to implement, than irregular ones with no redundancy (CPU).

Memory chips aren't really dependent on yields, you can always mark bad blocks and sell this as a lower capacity device.
>>
>>63728780
No
Storage factories are a cartel at this point, keeping microsd, DDR4 and Flash storage high for almost a decade now

All Moore's Law states is that roughly every two years, the amount of transistors that you can fit in a given space on a silicon chip doubles. In practice this means it says we can shrink fabrication processes by ~25% a year and as an extremely rough metric double the transistors means double the power.
>>
>>63731338
cpus do have redundancy, albeit to much lower degree of course
>you can always mark bad blocks and sell this as a lower capacity device
jewtel does this with xeon cores
>>
>>63730153
>>63731431
Moore's law is more of a myth, it was never strictly defined, as Moore himself said many times
>>
>>63730153
It's not a law,it was just a prediction. Of course there is a physical limit to what we can achieve with silicon based processors, but hardware manufacturer treat Moore's Law like a religion, because there whole business depends on it. Also Moore's law was changed several times . I think he predicted 100% in 12 months, later it was 18 months, then 24. The "hard" physical limit will be when you can't be statistically sure anymore, that there are free electrons in your gate (now we are at an average of a low to digit number). The soft limit will be heat. At one point there will be so much heat generated at a so small area that your processor will die before computing anything, even if you cool with liquid nitrogen. This will happen around 5 nm real gate width
>>
>>63731479
Your source is more of a myth, since it was never strictly defined, as your source's creator himself said many times.
>>
Is somthing going to replace silicon? If so what do you think it will be? How much faster could it make CPUs and GPUs?

CS GO is basically a mod of Half Life 2, and it has no campaign.
>>
>>63728780
It's moe's law when dealing with storage, you retard
>>
>>63731224
Nah, that was just AMD failing in the market and Intel realizing they could coast on rebrands.
>>
>>63728992
>also what device can take advantage of a 400gb microSD?
Anything that can handle a 64GB SD card can handle a 2TB SD card.

what the fuck mods you a
re fucking faggot's you are literally gonna kill this board not every single conversation going on in a thread has to be about tecfh you literally just purged 60% of the posts fucking off yourselves
>>
>>63734535
Nothing of value was lost.
>>
>>63734563
so it doesn't matter when do you ever go into a thread and every post is 'valuable' mods are way too trigger happy these days it's fucking stupid
>>
>>63734578
>way too trigger happy
They are not trigger happy enough. I'd wipe half the threads on this board.
This thread was supposed to be about moore's law and instead people were discussing fucking nail polish.

I bet you're ban evading right now.
>>

>>
>>63734623
No it's just retarded deleting posts that aren't spam or cp. i wish i could ban evade my isp is a joke the ip's are dynamic but they only change if you leave your router off for 3 weeks and dhcp release and renew does nothing so it's essentially static.

>>63734638
I belive moores law states that computing power should double every year or something it hasn't existed in a long time but seeing what intel has done since the release of ryzen i imagine they could easily triple the power of their cpu's but they just wont

Hah whats the point punctuation isn't used when speaking so no point in using it when typing desu also i say nibbler since nigger is a pretty boring term it's used way too often

whats wrong with tamper monkey?

not disagreeing with you overall, but this is 4chan not a college essay. everyone types quickly and poorly on the internet because its easy and faster. dont be austic.

You are writing a post, not a message in a chatroom.
On top of looking like an illiterate idiot it also makes it harder for other people to read your worthless opinion.

It was about time they released that. The 200GB ones were on the market for a pretty long time.

And the Nintendo Switch supports up to 2 TB ones.
>>
>>63735483
Doesn't everything that supports the SDXC spec in generally technically support up to 2 TB, since that's the upper end of said spec? Most things just don't advertise it that way since they aren't available yet.
>>
>>63735483
seeing as how a basketball game gets 5gb extra download that didn't fit on its under-sized cartridge, 16 gb update, and also needs 5gb for its save data, Nintendrones as much as they can get.
>>
>>63735530
That should depend on the SDXC controller integrated circuit (chip), probably not as much whatever the standard is. I would look into this matter if I was interested.
