Just received pic related.
Unsurprisingly, the gamepad is not xInput. Disappointed about that.
Anons even told me that if a chink gamepad looks like a 360 copy it will be xInput. :/

What's with the "dispatch date" on gearbest? Does it mean that it's pretty much a pre-order? Should i just order from aliexpress since the price is pretty much the same. Don't feeel like waiting almost 2 weeks before the product is dispatched.

I'm confirming this, I've been running stress on the nameserver for over half an hour now and it's gone up to 52C, but the Kingspec ssd still shows 25C.
The rest of the values do change though. Power on hours, LBAs read and written etc. seem to do what they're supposed to.
Again, no big deal for me
>>
>>65533385
>>65533760
>>65534021
No links but it's based on my experience.
I live in the south and the thermals never changed.

I then proceeded to do some investigating and my heatgun clearly shows the drives around 60-67 degrees while the SMART states its 40-/+ degrees.
I expect they use a microcontroller or IC to spoof the SMART data.
They are not being compliant with the specification and probably don't even have a thermostat inside.

All in all I suggest you don't take my word on it and investigate yourselfs.

Either way it's probably worth the price for beaters or a /boot/ or /root/ drive setup for read only.
I don't expect long term usage though...

Dirt cheap and I should of assumed chinkery so I don't feel too bad.

Just please don't pretend and shill on here to other anons that a Kingdian SSD is anywhere near even Adata in quality.
>>
>>65534143
yeah its not really a big issue, normal ssds aren't known to overheat, only those m.2 ssds tend to because of their crazy read/write speeds

IEMs
>Neutral sound (no nigbass)
>Don't care if wired or not
>Nipple tips are preferred
>Control buttons and mic are also preferred

Mouse
>Comfortable
>Responsive
>Decent build quality
>Don't care if wired or not

>silent click is preferred
>Bonus points if it doesn't have the "pro gaymur" look

Not all M.2 drives are NVMe/PCIe. KingDian M.2 modules use SATA. Those won't overheat and you can examine them without disassembling. There are high res pic of them around. Someone should just take a look.

Honestly, not to be a dick, but you should have just gotten an actual Xbox controller. Even a brand new one with bluetooth is pretty cheap. I'm sure they go on sale too. And I bet previous years controllers would be fine too. I have like a dozen different controllers and my Xbox One controller is probably the best followed by a PS4 Dualshock. If you went with all open protocols like XMPP and IRC where you could choose the apps as you please, then maybe...?

But the bloated social media and other apps don't really care, they just use your RAM to run shit code and serve ads and whatever they do. With a very noticeable tendency to get more bloated every half-year.

So I'd personally regardless recommend one of the slightly more expensive 3/4GB models of Redmi / Redmi Notes. We're still only talking about like $120-160, not some high-end luxury phone. Of course, do as you have to.

>>65536401

No. Top camera is basically the entirety of the sales pitch for luxury phones.

You don't get the same sensors on cheap phones.
OTOH you could always accept that smartphones are p&s snapshot devices and own an actual camera with some neat lenses for when you want to do really nice photos. Takes more effort, I know.
>>
>>65536535
PS: Dual sim, on the other hand, are extremely common on Chinese smartphones. You'll not have any issue finding this.

If you check well, you can even find quite many that do dual SIM plus microSD without any adapters.
>>
>>65536467
My bad. "Top" cameras are expensive and good software for them is too hard to develop apparently so I would not expect to find either on chink brands. I think even huawei's new flagship's camera got btfo because of it.
>>
>>65535224
>>65536398
I can't help you with the mouse, as for IEMs I have the UiiSii HM7 or whatever they're called, the meme "perfume cable" ones. They fit your description imo, though they're slightly sibilant for my taste, which is fixed by a slight eq on high frequencies. I don't use IEMs much so it still feels weird to switch from my SHP9500, but for ~6€ I'm fairly impressed when comparing it to my previous ~20€ Sony nigbass cannons.
>>
>>65536535

Yeah, the camera thing just doesn't work for my situation, the photos will all be indoors and well lit, but be fairly high res so I want them to be good quality, I think I am overthinking it, most decent smartphones nowadays have cameras that can handle still shots in well lit areas pretty well IMO
>>
>>65536606
If it's a well lit area and only "pretty well" then yea, most phones will do that.

Here's some sample shot from a really not impressive overall Redmi 4x:

This isn't really a question for /csg/, is it? Find out your battery / laptop specifics with a search engine.
>>
>>65536732
Depends. Didn't fry my Xiaomi, but it DID trigger the overvoltage detection on the Xiaomi phone AND their battery pack in full sun, at which point it obviously stopped charging.

You may need a voltage regulator inline.

>>
>>65536767
Shit. Why did they made them 6 Vp in the first place? I don't want to rely on overvoltage detection in my phone (if it even has one)
>>
>>65536732
simple oen word answer, yes.

complicated answer, got a usb bank and try it first. put a multimeter across the usb output.
5 volts is a standard, any deviation above 5.20 and below 4.80 is out of spec. and will damage your phone.

these things really need a built in buck-boost circuit.
>>
>>65536794
> Shit. Why did they made them 6 Vp in the first place?
Because it's a pretty good "nominal" voltage for various uses.

Look, it's a solar panel. The voltage and ampage varies a LOT, unless you add devices that make one of these constant and/or optimize one vs the other for optimal energy yield. It's the technology itself that works that way - you also got this issue if you install solar panels on a house.

> I don't want to rely on overvoltage detection in my phone (if it even has one)
Then put a Xiaomi power bank in between, preferably one of the models with pass-through charging / simultaneous charging & discharging support [ensures you can get constant voltage and ampage both, plus all sorts of protections], and a voltage regulator [ensures the protections don't constantly trigger on their own, heh]. Or just the latter, if you prefer.

>>
>>65536798
> will damage your phone.
The vast majority of chink phones is easily going to tolerate a 0.2V difference, though some might already trigger safety measures then.

But the panel will probably range from like 4.5V to 7V or something when you got sun on it. Either way, likely too much variance to "easily" use as-is.
>>
>>65536786
>chink controllers
That was me. Strangely enough I feel like the same applies for battery. I know this is /csg/ and everyone wants cheap deals, but "you get what you pay for" still rings true. Like the knockoff Gamecube controllers that only has analog shoulder buttons which completely fucks over Mario Sunshine which uses different pressure on the trigger buttons to control FLUDD etc etc. Dualshock/Xbox controllers are just always better assuming you can stomach that "off-feeling" of playing SNES with an Xbox controller

>>65536786
>Found a few sites in my country that sell 9 cells, but they are well above 50 bucks, this one is only 30.
The prices I was looking at were very similar. Except domestic shipping was 10 bucks or whatever, so basically same price but have to pay shipping. But it will get here quicker too. Haven't gone ahead and bought yet. Battery still working slightly ok. Its just now as soon as I get low battery it basically IMMEDIATELY goes to sleep mode instead of the usual 5-10 minutes I used to get

This is literally the worst Arm soc for android/linux besides powerVR

Just grab a Odroid C2/Xu4
They both have gigabit seperated from their USB interfaces, EMMC which is way faster than SD, newer media codecs with a Mp2/3 license embedded. (you have to payfor that seperately on the pi)

Lastly all Odroid's officially support Android which is what really sets them apart from other SBC's that only have Linux distros.

They are also the second biggest community behind the Pi's but I'd go as far to say that their user base is much more intelligent on average compared to the Pi' userbase so expect answers to technical questions on their forums.

They are aluminum though and the threads are good. The clips are reversible which I wanted and are super bright even using 1 rechargeable amazon AAA battery. Pretty happy with them. We will see how long they last.

Canadian Anons I just spotted a potentially good meme at Dollarama. The Hype 4400mAh Powerbank with LED flashlight and battery % display. $4.00CAD.

I've previously had the other cylinder style power bank from Dollarama and it works fine but its only something like 1500 to 2000 mAh probably. I can't remember. Don't currently have a way to test this (although I do have some chink testers coming!) but I just bought it for a $4 throwaway powerbank that I can be reasonably sure wont make things catch fire. I've been really tempted to get a 20,000mAh XIaomeme so this will have to tide me over until then. Comes with cute cable. Flashlight works fine.

Just got some battery holders.
They are dual purpose and will hold AA or AAA depending on their batteries orientation.

The plastic is of decent quality and the clip is strong and doesn't come loose.
The cases can also be joined together on the sides to create a long line of them.
Although I have no idea why you would want to do that.

just put them in a zip lock bag or something. Buying a case that literally can only hold batteries is wasteful/dumb.

you could fully charge it and leave it with something that draws a constant current, like a lamp, attached and see when it cuts off. there will be some loses but you would get into the ballpark capacity numbers. or you can open it up and see if the cells bear any markings (not that you should trust them, but still)

Maybe, it's always possible.
But it's most likely to be zinc and/or steel, as they're also cheap to make.
If anything "dangerous" could be cadmium, which is consider safe to wear.

Other sites that have tested KingDian drives indicated that it could be a variety of flash devices that could be used Samsung being only one of them.

So far the 128GB drives I have seen have all been Samsung Devices.

However during some testting it was noted that the drive was 128GB but the flash device manufacturing code was 256GB.
Suggesting the devices used may be failed items that have had bad dies switched off to use the remaining available space.

Depends how often you use batteries.

I have them in a tool box with other tools.
Having something robust that tools wont poke a hole in is good.

Looking for loose batteries in a tool box while your flash light is not working is a huge pain in the ass.

Also having batteries in a container that almost guarantees they wont short and explode or leak their contents is a huge plus.

Reposting from /a/ who directed me here about a repeat order on AliExpress:

I bought something on AliExpress but there was an issue when I clicked 'pay now'. It kept saying I needed to re log in, but no matter what I did it came up with that message. I hit pay now like 10 times.

Then I noticed that I had two new orders on my account. I checked my bank and it had only charged me once, and then I checked my account and both orders are still awaiting payment. The seller has confirmed that they are awaiting payment.

How do I contact AliExpress to find out where the money for the order went? Or is there something else I should be doing?

Redmi / Redmi Note is a good choice. Bluetooth & headphone port, microSD slot and builtin storage, good color display and lots of player app choices.
>>
Is there any decent Victorinox Spartan or similar chink clone?

A friend lost his while drun, and he's usually drunk on weekends so I'd rather having him losing cheap shit.

I have a nu-thinkpad as a work pc, I don't think it has one so I never considered it.
My old thinkpad may have one, so that's an idea.

Not looking for a phone of something the size of cutting board. Although the screen is somewhat bigger than the .96' of the xduoo x2
>>
>>65546271
All the 4-5 Chinese SAK clones I bought didn't convince me when I tried them. Some got shitty springs on the tools, many tools were too thinly stamped, and in many cases they didn't feel comfortable to the touch / in your pocket due to gaps between the metal and plastic, overly rough edges and so on. They mostly could do some work, but I was unimpressed.

Just get the original, it is pretty cheap anyhow. Or an Alox. Or the current Trailmaster / Sentinel / Forester One Hand if you want a hiking tool.
>>
>>65546326
>I was considering hosting the files on a pc but I halfassed it.
Just quickly drop syncthing [synctrayzor on Windows?] on your PC and smartphone or wherever this comes from and one way sync?

And yea, create a NAS with RAID6 or something for your porn and files, eh.

What about this one? I haven't seen any post about this on the threads but it seems ok.

If it was for me I would go with Victorinox, in fact my Wenger Sportsman and Vic Camper are my favourite knives along Opinel, but he just wants to cheap as much as possible.
>>
>>65546341
> Not looking for a phone
Still the best players if you want good software. Obviously also basically the most well-made in terms of case design and stuff.

> something the size of cutting board
Neither is, but I guess you'd go with the Redmi then.

Or well, just get an xDuoo X3 whatever, but I myself don't like their software, displays and so on - even with Rockbox it sucks. Just not that great for managing larger collections.

And then no DLNA integration, no good internet radio and podcasts, Bluetooth mostly on the ones that cost ~as much as a Redmi anyhow, and so on. Ya, Redmi smartphone is my actual suggestion.

Should I buy it?

Yeah but Nigeria is in West Africa, and that area is far less stable. Nigeria's huge population is divided among 3 major tribes and thousands of minor ones, as well as between Christianity and Islam. There is a good chance it will be too unstable for business.

Why the fuck would a seller have a $20 source for $170 drives?

Storage is still much desired, SSD storage more so than HDD storage, too.

I'm guessing it's either a scam or a fuck up.

So my question is, if the seller fucks up with the listed price, is he bound to deliver anyway according to eBay policies?

Chink psp batteries are worthless shit, dont buy them.

advertised capacity is always waay off(more it says it has, less it actually has), and they tend to just die after moth or so. If you are gonna buy one regardless, read reviews/feedback.

Where's this coming from? I've received everything I've ever ordered from China and in most cases it was better packaged and delivered than local goods. Customer service was also top notch, I got refunded the entire cost of one package that was a week late and got to keep it as well.

In my experience, these things tend to look better than they are. You'll notice the lack of quality in some things like the strap. Zippers can be so-so, sometimes great, other not so much. Those buckles look pretty flimsy even in the pics.
This particular one looks pretty ugly to me, dunno.
