Seems like a cable binder akin to the Oricos I just mentioned.

These aren't big enough to tie up your Chinese boyfriend with, so you kinda have to use them on cables in your household or computer [obviously the desktop variant, not inside a laptop] or such.

>BTW, how to use that thing I got for free?
Looks like a cable tie. I've only gotten ordinary cable ties with my Ugreen and other chink cable purchase, but my guess is the narrow end is meant to be attached to the cable so the thing stays on. Then you wrap the rest around your wrapped-up cable.
>>
>>65948806
>I used VE monks back when I had android though they had short durability
In the cable, I presume? Replace the cable! If you just have the required tools around or got a friend who has those, just get a semi-finished replacement cable off Ebay and solder that sucker on. The shells of the Monks pop open without any tools and the solder points for the cable conducters are nice and big. Super easy things to fix.

No problem. OTOH I'm kinda surprised you managed to make a R4 hard to close, these do have a bit more space behind the back cover than the tightest cases.

Oh and note these lock with your SATA ports; be careful about pulling on those HDD trays.

Still, those are some cute small cables. I definitely like them.

Considering the RGBW Yeelight, and since it's my first smart bulb I have some questions:

You can control it officially via Yeelight's app, or with Mi Home. However Yeelight got open API so you can control with other apps like IFTTT

You can select it.

Also, what is this shit about "EU CHARGER" on the images- does that mean I won't be able to charge my fucking phone?

Received my Takstar pro 82 after 9 days of shipping. The comfort is much better in comparison to Superlux HD660 EVO and feels a lot lighter also. The wire is way too long for portable usage and the plug is 2.5mm instead of usual 3.5mm, so no reuse of old cables. Really like the kind of details it output for those 500kbps aac I got, somehow YouTube audio sound boring with this, dunno why. For 50€ to replace my HD660 which is slowly breaking apart, totally worth it.

The sound is surprisingly good, the only problem is that it stops transmitting during quiet moments, for example if you're listening to asmr and the girl is talking very softly and slow, it cuts during her quiet moments which is kind of annoying, but if you're listening to music or to something with constant noise, it works great.

You could take a regular plastic strap, cut it 2cm in and punch a hole into it, then attach a pocket watch chain through that hole.
You might also take a sturdy piece of strand and form it to attach it into the strap holder and but that onto a pocket watch chain.

Any model you would recommend? i found a 2599US3 for $8 bucks, not sure if it's worth it.
My old one would suffer from random disconnects and data loss, which is a shame considering the whole case is made of aluminum and feels pretty sturdy (not that i plan to drop mine tho)
>>
>>65953661
Works for me, but I aesthetically and USB-C wise prefer the ORICO 2139C3.

Well, you can pick a good number of devices, some that look like brushed metal (they're ABS though) white opaque ones, transparent ones with micro-B instead of the above C connector, ...

> which is a shame considering the whole case is made of aluminum and feels pretty sturdy (not that i plan to drop mine tho)
Good, because dropping aluminium usually turns out worse than dropping plastics.

Has nothing really to do with the disconnects BTW - that's the cable, connector or controller... unless you electrically short something at the underside of the case, I guess. Which seems unlikely.
>>
>>65953759
BTW, if you just wanna go cheap, there's obviously cheaper than $8:

Thanks for the advice, i guess i'll go for the 2599US3.

Dunno, I got two 2518C3 for myself. One pushing a hdd, the other an ssd. Both are working as expected, but you can assume that in most cases with ugreen and orico as they're in general one of the more reputable brands (exceptions occur like everywhere else though).
If you wanna put a hdd in it, I advise some silicone stripes against vibrations. I know it sounds like snake oil, but still made a small but fine difference for me.

Review: Mostly terrible. They kind of work, but the biggest problem is that the teeth on the side are spiraled, not straight flute, so it tries to draw in/push out as you cut. I could see it maybe being useful in really rare cases, like if you wanted a super minimal hole right in the middle of something too big for a coping saw to fit, so you could barely fit a full sized USB cable or something. Something where you want something rectangular/oval, but too small for a jigsaw, and too far from the edge for a coping saw.

The spiral might actually end up working better for chip clearing, and you could compensate by putting one of those drill depth stops on it.

This was in shitty particle board furniture btw. Too late at night to play with tools, but I can try plywood or normal wood tomorrow if anyone wants me to.

Never personally got a freeebie. But I think they could be legit. In exchange for 1000-3000 store favorite/likes they send out 1 product for say 20 bucks. Those couple thousand likes could easily earn them some business when a sucker comes by and sees the store has 3000 Likes and orders something

Chinese HSS is hit-or-miss, but carbide is fairly consistently good. Carbide they make one mold for, HSS has a lot more machining for them to fuck up, and then the heat treatment gets fucked up a lot of the time. But either way you wanna go, why would you ever use these over an end mill for proper CNC? Legit asking, because these just seem like a silly idea, which was mostly why I got them. Maybe there's some use I'm missing.

The other week, my Mi 5 flew out of my pocket when I jumped. This, I think, broke the accelerometer.
I doubt it was software related, as I factory resetted it, and the testing menus still didn't even recognize that there was an accelerometer in the phone.
Just today, it started working again out of the blue. Do xiaomi use really chinky solder? We're in the middle of a heat wave, and I guess leaving my phone in direct sunlight for an hour or so may have heated up and re-soldered the accelerometer if it got disconnected due to me dropping the phone, but it feels pretty unlikely.
>>
>>65958676
Hot enough to melt solder is hot enough to fuck the battery. It probably did crack the joint, but it probably just wiggled enough to reconnect temporarily.
>>
>>65958676
>leaving my phone in direct sunlight for an hour or so may have heated up and re-soldered the accelerometer
No amount of sunshine is going to melt solder. More likely the components have just moved slightly inside the phone and a cracked solder joint is now making contact again.
>>
>>65957487
Wish I could still get these.
Oh well, I have two and one still works perfectly. I tried looking at AliExoress and you'd have to fork out $6 for similar quality unless it's gayming thin faggotry quality.

I know regular solder wouldn't, but I don't know what xiaomi are using.
The theory about parts having shifted around a bit is more likely to be true, either way I'm happy that it works again and very surprised that neither the glass back or front broke in the drop.
>>
>>65958734
The better the solder is, the cooler it melts, because heat damages components. The worst-case for it melting is that they're using great solder, which is still hundreds of degrees to melt. My soldering iron doesn't even go below 200c/392f.
>>
>>65958734
if sunlight was enough then fucking anytime the phone heats up then the internal circuitry is liable to completely fuck up by itself

I was so close to buying a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s today, but when the guy at the store was taking my information, he wanted a Chinese ID number which I as a foreigner don't have. He asked if I have any Chinese friends and I said no, then asked if I have any sort of ID and I didn't.
I then went home and had a look on tmall and they don't have the variant I want

Well here anything you do revolves around your ID number. Want to get a coach? Need your ID. Want to get a SIM card? ID. Bank card? ID. Use Taobao? Phone number which is linked to your ID.
I'm not sure why exactly they wanted it. I've been in that exact store like 8 months ago when my friend bought their Mi 6 and they didn't need an ID then.

So lads, it took a while but my TRN V20's have finally arrived as of yesterday. On top of that, I ordered KZ ZS6's a few days ago and they arrived.

So now, I have two pairs of chink IEMs, and I like both of them.

TRN V20 sound all around balanced, with a heavy emphasis on bass. Vocals sound very smooth, and the bass is punchy, yet deep, and doesn't overpower vocals. Took me a while to find tips that would fit them, but the large ear tips off of the Samsung IG-935's fit perfectly. The only thing I don't like about them is just how cheap they feel, but hey, that's what you get for $14 USD. Pretty good bang for the buck.

Now for the KZ ZS6's, these are an interesting pair. They have a better construction, the shell is aluminum, and they're comfy. All of the ear tips that came with them though, never fit me, so I opted for my older KZ ATE tips, which you can see in the picture. I tried them without an EQ and snares are very hissy. Had to lower 8-10KHz on my EQ, and then they sounded fantastic. The sound signature is fucking wiiiiide. I love it. The cable that comes with these are some rubber KZ dogshit, get an upgrade cable ASAP if you get these.

Bad insulation
Incorrect choice if thermoplastic
Leaks

Maybe a e-3lue? Or an Aula if you are okay with tenkeyless on that machine. [Personally I only need a numpad on one machine].

Not that these are the only options, but I think around two anons seemed happy with the earlier and I personally think the Aula I'm typing on now is fine, too.

Motospeed (everywhere) or Mantistek (mostly on BG) or maybe the Alfawise or Metoo (AFAIK mostly on GB) might be options too.

Thanks for the replies, I actually really want a TKL or smaller with an ANSI layout, I couldn't find a version of the aula that isn't ISO.

But anyway thanks for the tips on the brands both of you, I found metoo boards for suuuuper cheap, weirdly cheap, and the version without backlights looks nice. I'll look up on what switches they yse and maybe buy one for that price.

And those Eagles boards look nice but I never found one that would ship to here for some reason.

Bought one of these Kobo readers.

It arrived in about two weeks in a plastic bag in carton box.
No branded box, no manual, nothing.
It already came logged in with something like lcdX...@hotmail.com. It even had some books half read. Makes me think it's a refurb.

I factory reset it and using it as an ebook reader.
I originally bought it because I saw you can hack debian and android on it, which sounds fun. I'm not sure it will be enjoyable though, even the stock firmware is painfully slow sometimes.

In any case, I will need some microsd card to do that. I'd go for a class10, around 32GB. Anything aliexpress link that will not screw me over?

>Any other utilitarian style without bluetooth?(just USB/3.5mm?)
From what I remember from sifting through the metric fucktons of different portable speakers out there, I don't recall seeing much in the way of speakers without bluetooth. It seems to be pretty much a standard feature nowadays.

>>65960191
>Buy a Xiaomi speaker next time, they have decent sound.
Yeah, I looked at the Xiaomi spaker(s) when doing searches and they seemed to be generally getting pretty favorable reviews. Definitely keeping them in mind, as this time the built-in carrying features and (advertised) longer playback time swayed my pick for the VAVA.
Plus, that white front panel on the Xiaomi wouldn't be optimal when out and about, picking up any and all kinds of dirt and muck in its vicinity.

nah bro just pull the trigger now on the T2 now as they arent discounted that much and TIN are small operation. Beware I actually just got mine last week after ordering on the march sale !!! because they got popular sold out and had to do another manufacturing run !

ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY T2.... another audiobudget gem. Simply magic pushing 5.6mhz DSD through my Zishan Z2 no EQ needed.

It's like a laptop power cable velcro strap.
You use the small end to wrap around a single piece of cable to keep the velcro strap permanently attached so you don't loose it.

That "handled by aliexpress" shipping is actually legit. My order shipped out only TWO HOURS after I placed my order. And it ACTUALLY shipped. I wasn't just sent a tracking number quickly so my order can ship a few days later.

I guess "handled by aliexpress" is the aliexpress equivalent of "fulfilled by amazon" where aliexpress stores the items in their own warehouses?

That's the app I use too, far better than the stock app.

The most you'll get personalisation-wise is different straps.

Was the first Xiaomi product I bought and I love it (posting on a Mi A1 in a Costa coffee with Piston 3s and a Xiaomeme pen in my bag). I'm going to take the plunge and buy one of their "proper" smart watches in a few months.

my air mouse finally arrived

Works OK on both android(8.1) and windows 7
>back button doesn't work on android for some reason
>air mouse works just fine but sometimes I need to turn it off/on to re-calibrate it
>buttons are mix of rubber-y and clicky
>keyboard is alright but I wouldn't write essay on it
>vontar logo is just an sticker
>I like the size but due to batteries(two AAA) all weight is on the bottom
>I cant test IR learner/blaster properly right now
Also it adjusts properly to non-US layouts (for example in swe/fin layout ;: and ," buttons becomes ÖÄ), but it also effects all alt/FN/symbol shortcuts so all markings on the actual keyboard are incorrect.

Well my Xiaomeme power bank just cleared Export Customs in China. Don't think I've seen that before. Even got a popup notification from the Ali app. Hopefully thats a good sign for Import Customs as I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to ship power banks in thru air.

Also I dropped my phone last night and tempered glass screen broke. Luckily my replacement should be here soon. Decided to randomly buy some because they are cheap. Turns out I need it now. What fortune.

Does it make any sense to use optical disks for redundancy, for the kind of data that u only need to access once every 2 years? It seems cheaper than hard disk storage, but is it even legit? Pic related is 1,25TB of bluray disks for 29€ shipped. Last time I burned a disk was 10 years ago and it was onto a CD, so I've no clue whether I get value out of this deal or not. You are the experts of chinks.

My dad is looking for a "public address system", i.e. a lapel microphone and some kind of amplifier. Something similar to what a lecturer might use but under 100 euro.

I'm just looking at the pdf now and see there's a amplifier section, haven't looked into each one individually yet but if anyone can offer guided advice as to what specifically I'm looking to buy that would help. Also I was hoping to buy pic related as the mic but can't find either on gearbest or aliexpress.
