>Feel free to laugh.
I'm not laughing and here's why: Remember that GPU shortage we had that lasted over a year? I'm not convinced AMD can sustain a 80+% retail CPU market share over time. If Intel doesn't get their shit together for months - and that's not unlikely - then we might soon look at $900 for both the core i9 9900K and the 2700.

Why is this a fear? Intel announced that they would be investing billions to increase their 14nm capacity (not fix 10nm) last week. That ain't done in a day or week. AMDs essentially handed monopoly on CPUs at fair prices in the meantime.

Benchmarks like these showing what used to be one "comparable" CPU against another don't matter right now, not even a little. It's totally irrelevant after the 50% price-increase on Intel CPUs. As
>>68013606
shows, if you're going to compare CPUs at the same price-point today you're looking at things like the i3-8350k - a quad core - vs the Ryzen 7 1700 - which is an eight-core.

>>
>>68013778
It's in AMD's best interest to have a shortage on CPUs going into 2019.

They charge their products way lower than Intel and this is the first time they can charge for a premium.

Intel always had initial stock shortages since Kaby Lake; its a marketing ploy to drive the prices of the first batch of processors high, keep interest for their new products high while also allowing them to manufacture only what is needed.

When the 7700k came out it had stock shortages that were fixed around the time Ryzen came out, when the 8700k showed up it was only until December until stocks and prices were normalized and its not going to be different with this one.

AMD CPUs aren't "cheaper" right now, they are the only choice. The same performance about about the same price where one product costs 2-3% less than the other is "cheaper".

Now that you're talking twice the price for the same performance on the Intel side it's no longer a matter of "cheaper"; it's the only choice worth considering.

>>68013864
>Intel always had initial stock shortages since Kaby Lake; its a marketing ploy to drive the prices of the first batch of processors high
Sure, but now you're talking about something wildly different. We got a 50% price-increase on ALL Intel products all over Europe (probably elsewhere?) early September. It's not about these new CPU releases in particular.

Oy fucking vey.
>>
>>68023450
The Skylake-X refresh is what they could've done back in 2017 ( 14nm++ was completed about a year before July 2017 ). They could've gotten more people towards buying that platform if it was against the 8700K/7800X. Since they're only using HCC dies, even the 8 core benefits from the extra cache now.

So why is Intel having stock problems?

Is it artificial scarcity or did 14nm++++++++ run out?

They're on that node for years now and since Coffee Lake last year we always had stock shortages during release week. I don't remember Intel CPUs being out of stock or scarce until recently.

When AMD was buried 6ft for 10 years all the new Intel releases went smoothly, no stock shortages or problems so its not a case of Intel having no factories to build them.

Intel is supplying modems for the newer iPhones so their 14nm fabs are now busy with that. Their newer CPUs were supposed to be 10nm by now, so now their 14nm fabs can't cope with all the demand. That almost suggests that that particular game engine's AA isn't just GPU-bound but runs some essential AA processing on the CPU (probably using AVX2, which is half-width on Ryzen).

well, those new Intel CPUs are priced like Threadripper CPUs so it's not that odd. That's probably why they are focused on gaming, like there's a difference between 220 and 210 fps in a game. Both those numbers are above 60 so it doesn't matter. Threadrippers win at everything that's able to utilize all them cores so they ain't going to claim to be a performance winner there.

I have a 1050ti and it struggles to maintain 60 f/s in modern titles at High (or whatever the 'standard' is) settings. Doom (Vulkan) is a positive counter-example, but DXMD shows up its flaws, especially in DX12. If you want to maintain 60 f/s reliably, you've got to step up at least a notch. It would be more true to say that you can't expect more of a 1050ti than 1080p60 than that "it's perfect for 1080, 60 f/s gaming", which is the meme I bought into when I bought mine.

A refresh on Polaris with 12nm manufactured by TMSC's superior process when compared to GloFlo is probably coming in the next couple of months. If you can't wait and see grab a RX580 or GTX 1060 or a 1070Ti if you can afford it. Do your research and look into your requirements. Forget the fanboy shilling they are all good. It comes down to price in the end.

Can't tell if you're lying on purpose, or just actually retarded and don't know that any 3200 CL14 XMP kit overclocks to 3466 CL14 fine. Those kits are only about $200 for 2x8Gb.
The 3466 CL14 profiles for B-die RAM is even in the BIOS for a lot of motherboards so you just have to click 3 buttons total and it's set.
You should be buying that same RAM with an i7 as well, or else you're not getting the most out of it.

Pretty sure this has been explained to you at least 100 times over the past few months, yet you keep posting the same lies.
