You figure the approximate range of the voice's frequencies by examining it, and then you tell everything in that range to shut the fuck up with gates targeting those frequencies. Often, what ends up happening is that AI will guess and not quite hit the full range, resulting in some remaining, quiet sound from the target, around the highest and lowest pitches.Another issue is that it'll fuck up the rest of the audio that fits into that range. AI can try to sort out a specific type of sound and follow the pitch to try to squash JUST that, but it'll still spill out onto anything else that matches. This causes some odd sounds that you might say sound distorted. Sometimes, AI processes that do this for you will also not totally squash the vocals because they need some of the related noises to not be conspicuously dead, resulting in just quieter vocals.To make a long story short, you're playing a losing game where you either have to choose where you're going to settle or just find different audio.
