if that were actually the case then the /h/ Eromahou TL project done on google docs wouldnt have been abandoned due to lack of passion and manpower, HEAPPS would've been revised or reMTL'd with deepl somewhere in the last 2-3 years, and the HSUCC revised MTL wouldn't have taken so fucking long if more people actually helped the 2(TWO) autists that were working on that shit, but fucking nobody did(there's also the OtogiFrontier collab, it was only possible thanks to one guy that made us a viewer for the h-scenes, and he gave up on making one for the sprite/voicelines/story rips when nobody cared for them, cant blame the guy, gif related), and once again, the recent MTLs we got were thanks to ONE FUCKING GUY asking SVN to make them, if not for that one autismo we wouldn't have gotten both Eroappli titles(and Hmaid too i think)

Well, actually I was part of that team. The main problem with it was that it was still MTL at the end of the day, and this caused problems very quickly with team cohesiveness. Of course you cannot edit or improve a translation if you cannot even engage with someone who can naturally translate it to begin with. I do wonder if compiling the script into an easy to read google sheets document was useful down the line for the folks that officially translated, though. It was very convenient, it just needed to be given proper utilization. I actually still have a copy of that sheet on me too.

I think the problem with dropping them is that "it's just magic, I don't have to explain shit" is the easiest way to get heroines into these silly erotic situations without having to write a lot to explain things. It saves on budget (you slash the writing and voice acting required) and you focus more on the sex itself. So I don't think there's a good way of eliminating "magic" without it cutting into the budget that makes up the actual sexual content. Instead I'd rather they focus more on improving the sex scenes further, like making all sex scenes fully animated, and maybe using something like Live2D for the sprites like what Love Cube did. And give players a setting in options for how much they have the heroine's tits to be bouncing about too, just like Love Cube did.

a personal favorite of mine is Paidol(i fucking hate idolshit with a burning passion, but for some weird reason i just love this game and it's cast), i'd recommend that one along with NyuuDoukyuu, pretty much everyone agrees that these 2 titles are some of their best, followed by EroAppli(i only really like some the girls, not much the game itself, i also despise the MC, and it marks the point where they setted on changing their formula, art is good tho), YOME(basically like a fandisc of 2 heroines), Shintai, Wanpaku Ojou and Dokyusei(the earlier Haramase titles might be a bit dated by today's standards, and i felt they were "okay" at best, regarding their other IPs i didnt really like them), some people also like Shintai2 but i could never really like it, i somewhat like the characters but i fucking hate both the MC and the setting, probably because it was a weird prototype/experiment into their new formula, and overall just a weaker game

I often used to manually set my programs to translate the names of characters in the game I'm playing, and when they do that they'll also raw translate the honorifics. Since honorifics often don't apply to gender (and even when they do they can often just be used for different genders anyway as a way of endearment or humiliation) it's usually just something totally glossed over with any level of Japanese understanding. Moans, stuttering, context based stuff, and things like characters cutting what they're saying short are more prone to fuck up a machine's translation. Which is why it's good to have at least a rudimentary understanding of Japanese so you can pinpoint when those things are happening in the Japanese text, and you can cull most of those things out and feed the sentence back into the machine and get a better translation out.

You know one thing I hate about these games? The way like half the scenes have multiple cumshots at the end. Like any rational person I time my own orgasm with the MCs for maximum immersion, but half the time in these games the MC is like "I'm still hard!" and keeps going even after cumming once, which makes me feel like "Dammit, I wanted to cum at the end of the scene not the 80% mark".
