How do you view these? Is there an app for VR headsets or something?

cross your eyes until the image from both sides merge, takes a bit of practice but eventually it will become sharp enough in your vision to where you can see the 3D effect
>>
>>7133950
the simplest way to see stereograms without straining your eyes
>get Geeqie (https://www.geeqie.org/)
>open the picture
>go to Edit > Preferences > Stereo
>set "Stereo mode" on "Side-by-side half-size" and check "Reflect left image"
>click OK
>go to View > Stereo > chose "Side-by-side"
>the single image should now be divided into two reflected images
>put your head in front of the middle point of the screen
>take a large flat mirror, at least the size of the half-picture on your screen
>put the mirror vertically inbetween your eyes with the reflecting side to the right
>look to the left, "inside" the mirror
>adjust the horizontal angle until the images coincide
>enjoy
>>
Usually these threads are full of unedited images copy/pasted side by side by people who don't understand how the illusion works. It's nice to see legit ones.

the ones i've personally made are the ones with the numbers, all except for the last 3 ive made i've done with picrel method

what i do now is make a depthmap by inserting a layer above the image and "painting" the areas black that should be closer to the viewer
(the higher the opacity, the higher the intensity of the effect)
then use the displace function that image editing software usually comes with
IMPORTANT when displacing only increase the values on the horizontal scale, leave the vertical scale on 0

feel free to ask if something isnt clear!

thanks for the feedback, made this but its not the best since im getting tired.

for depthmaps i guess the best effect is achieved by starting with a gradient for a general sense of depth, then tracing the body and adjusting the opacity to each body section accordingly to the intended depth by the artist
additionally it helps for the image to have a background thats not just one plain colour but rather either an irregular pattern or a scene

I thought the VR headset was for viewing stereoscopic images? Is there something else? Because the only things I've found are the shittiest SFM VR videos.
>>
>>7158029
the only thing they're really good for is 3D porn games, videos are alright but get boring quick
>>
>>7158029
You seriously think you need something like 120hz for a static image?
Stereoscopic images got nothing on an actual 3D model that you can look around from every angle.
VR videos are quite trash but games (both porn and regular games) are really good.
>>
>>7158061
>>7158204
Any recommendations for games, then? Most of what I found simply feels like shitty SFM and these images got it beat.
>120hz for a static image
They look pretty good in a VR headset, especially when I can't cross my eyes for shit. Especially when I haven't found a better VR alternative.
>>
i really dont get it, some of the images posted here really high quality hentai, but i dont know how to get the "3D" effect.

would this be something that easier to do or get the full effect of on a phone, or am i just gonna have to leave it for the experts?
>>
>>7158934
Depends what you like.
If you're fine with furry stuff, then nothing beats Yiffalicious.
For other porn games you'll have to search some yourself as Yiffalicious is all I personally need so I haven't bothered with more.
But I've heard great things about Virt-A-Mate
For non porn games, just check steam or something, there's plenty of good ones.
>images with 0 depth beats shitty SFM
Nice joke. They're both dogshit, but out of the 2, sfm is better.
>>
>>7159072
>0 depth
I thought the entire point of stereoscopic threads was that they had depth desu. To each their own, I'll have to check out Virt-A-Male, thanks for the suggestion anon!
>>
>>7159035
its easier to view if you're further from the image/if the image is further away from you
if that still doesn't work you could try the fingerguiding thing:

"Hold a finger a short distance in front of your eyes and stare at it. In the background you should see two copies of the stereo pair, giving four views altogether. Move your finger away from you until you see the middle two of the four images come together. You should now see just three images in the background."
>>
>>7156220
Whew, after spending like a half of a day in photoshop, it's still not as flawless as the other ones here, as there still some artifacts from the facts I wanted to push the effect as much as I could. I would like to know you mange to avoid them?

but damn...
It's so hot being able to fuck Tokai Teio in 3D. The last 8 hours were totally worth it.

Everyone says "cross your eyes" but its way easier to explain if you just look at something far away, just past your phone. Notice how the images start to pass through eachother? Just play with that feeling until they line up so a 3rd middle image shows up in 3d.
>>
>>7169114
if you can't cross your eyes, you have some serious skill issues

that ends up inverting the effect of the image though, but i guess its a good way to comprehend the concept

Stable Diffussion WebUI + depthmap-script
Just setup WebUI and install the depthmap-script extension and you are ready to go, you can use any picture you want and create a side by side or anaglyph image. It supports batch processing too so you can generate a folder worth of sbs pictures in one click.
It looks so good on vr. I just put them on quest 2 and open them with Deovr. Deovr just needs the images to be jpg.

Seemed to be the best place to ask this, I get these were stereograms edited for VR specifically, but would anyone know how they would be made? The base image was NAI but the edit itself I mean.

Image is too big to upload so its on litterbox here:

Is there a best type of screen to look at these on? Looking on my phone and I can only see four images.
>>
>>7255152
yyyyeah im not smart enough for coding so no clue, my best bet would be that its either a faulty download or some other extensions are causing it to get fucked up, if i were you i'd try to run it dry as in just that enabled and no other extensions and if that doesnt work just try to reinstall the depthmap

>>7255168
it works on everything as long as its a screen really, the reason you see 4 images is because you're "crossing your eyes too much", try to decrease the intensity of you crossing your eyes and you'll notice that the images start getting closer together, if that still doesn't work i'd recommend the finger technique
(hold finger out infront of you between your eyes and the screen and focus on it, in your peripheral vision you'll see the image turn to 4, then move your finger further away from you and slowly the 2 sets of 2 images will get closer together and eventually the two inner images will converge into one)

where'd ya find these?
or if you made them yourself: did you do it by splitting the animation into frames, making it stereoscopic and then recombining the frames, or some other method?
>>
Given this a pseudo 3D effect thread, does anyone still got any files that work for the 3DS?
>>
>>7169114
No, state at something closer than your phone, otherwise the close parts appear far and far parts appear close and it just doesn't work
>>
>>7169114
>>7283233
It depend on the kind of stereoscopic picture you're dealing with:
- If the picture's position correspond to the eye required (left picture -> left eye), you need to use the "looking far away" method. It's harder to perform but it work on raw side by side video.
- If the picture's position is reversed to the eye required (left picture -> right eye), the cross eyed method is required. Apparently easier to perform but it require specific image/video for it (but easily doable by exchanging pictures positions).

Using the wrong method will completely reverse the depth effect.
>>
I never understood them desu...
>>
>>7283197
No, but I tried simply converting >>7124202 into the file with StereoPhoto maker
Given a bit of time for the 3DS photo program to recognize that there was something new (waiting for updated management file), it worked, ish
I am certain that someone more experienced could absolutely work this out, or someone has already made some kind of homebrew for it, but if so, I haven't found it

I've found those on the hard drive of my previous computer... because I've made those quite a lot of years ago.

As for the method, It relies on Camera mapping : a regular picture got cut into multiple layers (like in a 2D cutout animation) but instead the image is projected into a 3D rigged mesh that got animated behind.
And since it's a 3D mesh (with a lot of holes), you can do stereoscopic renders. And even without stereoscopy, it allow for more depth in the movement.

Also, >>7280466 animation was also done by myself and I've made back then a "trippy" version with depth of field and camera moving to show it's not 2D.
