I pick bits up at events, after seeing them used by others in sessions, because I'm bored and fancy a change. I never purchase any "2 in 1" stuff. A head harness has no gag or blind fold, a collar has no nipple clamps, etc. After use I work out what works well with what. You tend to learn brands the more you buy, what to look out for, what to avoid. And with custom made pieces, speak to them about materials, build and design process, etc to get a feel for if they just get a few o-rigns and glue thin latex strips to it, or if they use thicker gauge straps that are chlorinated and rivets. I would recommend only getting good quality stuff, normally (but not always) reflected in the price. Take this pic. Two different hoods (Rubber 55 and Honour), the gag (Rouge), the handcuffs (ex police issue), the mitts (Etsy) and the latex mitts (different Etzy store) can all be used separately.
