Why did the Ottomans ultimately fail to civilize Europe?

It was already civilized and the Ottomans de-civilized it. The Turks destroyed the level of culture, education, and intellectualism in Greece, the Balkans, and Anatolia and it never really recovered from that since. Turks destroyed much of Constantinople and blew up many classical Greek buildings with gunpowder, like the Nea Ekklesia and Parthenon.
