Apparently not even Pol Pot's own supporters were safe from him. Malcolm Caldwell for example was British Communist Journalist that regularly defended Pol Pot and in December 1978, he went to Cambodia to "disprove" the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge. The next day, he was found dead, apparently executed by two of Pol Pot's henchmen and his execution was supposedly ordered by Pol Pot himself. The reason: they claimed he was a "CIA agent", which anyone with half a brain knows is completely false.

tbf both Mustachios did it methodically, and did so with people that were of no more use for them/peolpe that he could replace. Pol pot didn't care.
