Has anyone actually read the Gnostic Gospels? What did you think of them?

The reason the Carolingians (Charlemagne's dynasty) were highly praised is because they removed from power the Merovingians, whose prime ancestor on the cognatic-matrilineal side was “Mary Magdalene” aka. Mary Bethany (with her sister Martha, and brother Lazarus).

Mary “Magdalene” Bethany was “Jesus'” companion (“sister-wife”; not sister in the sense by blood but by companionship based on “Jesus'” following, and in that sense of “companion” between opposite sexes meant husband & wife).

Because they were of noble birth from Adiabene, they found refuge within the Franks and their Merovingian comites clan. Mary or Martha (you can't really be sure) married within the primogeniture line of the Merovingians (Chilmeric? Childeric? D or C-something something I think; it's semi-legendary).
They, together with the Alemanic tribe allies, are what brought down the Western Roman Empire, in Gaul, Hispania, and indirectly Britannia.

Eventually, their last king Childeric III with his son Theuderic V, were removed. Childeric III died, while Theuderic was forced to take vows and become a monk.

I'm not sure where, and if, Carolingians married Merovingian princesses related by the primogenic line since Mary or Martha married into the clan, or even Lazarus by some extension (but anything related with Lazarus already implied a dead-end, becoming a bishop).
Only a historian with genealogical tree could confirm or not if Merovingian princesses married Carolinians, until Carolinians kicked them.

Addendum

Now that I think & remember about it, it's most likely that Lazarus was already castrated by this point (since during “Jesus” following when he was alive). So it's best assured to say Lazarus died childless by default.
So, Mary or Martha remain in the equation.
