I hate to be "that guy", but you're 100% right. modern women have zero care about shit that makes YOU happy, and only see a challenge to "fix" you. I've seen it happen irl, three times.
>>
>>4193847
Funny, Trumptards would disagree with you. They think things were normal in past and are degenerate/subversive now.

They don't like things such as "premarital" sex, different cultures, racial diversity, dirty people, drugs, courage, new ideas, progress, strong independent women. Which is all what "Heavy Metal" is about. Before it became real life, it was a "Heavy Metal" fantasy. "Heavy Metal" has successfully subverted the Western civilisation.

Or… has it? No. "Heavy Metal" hasn't subverted the Western civilisation, it has *defined* it. No other culture has been free and creative like us. And Trumptards have reversed it all.

"Heavy Metal" is a monument to our great liberal past.

Me too. I was 13 years old in the summer of 1981 and conned my Polish immigrant mother into taking me and two buddies to the see the (R-rated) movie.

MOM: “But why I must go, is cartoon, no?”
ME: “Umm… it’s a new theater policy because kids get too noisy.”

Needless to say, mom was NOT amused once the movie got going but to her credit, she didn’t drag us out of there and sat thru the whole flick, though I can’t imagine what the hell she was thinking about the movie.

She did slap me up-side the head in the parking lot afterward...

Funny all the people posting about the movie in here. I was a 13 year old who had to get signed in by his mom, who promptly fell asleep and woke up to the robot in bed with the woman with her telling him I don't want to come home and find you screwing that toaster.

My friend's brother, J. Dwas a rabid fan of this magazine and Conan the Barbarian and had Immaculate collection of both that he let me and rhis brother read as long as we were careful.

Those two magazines plus a few movies like Jason and the Argonauts inspired him to become an animator. During the protracted preproduction delays Conan the Barbarian had, he got so pissed off that he made his own 8-minute animated short titled Conan the Vegetarian, a combination of stop-action and his specialty, claymation.

I rescued it from his garbage can when he did a purge.. I think he would probably murder me if he knew that I had that original copy, where are free to buy it off me.

I was helping out the production team Stargate from Vancouver at Comic-Con in San Diego some years ago and brought it's along and screened it for a number of people in the industry to see if they can guess who did it.

One person who was brighter than the rest asked what year this was made in and I had to not answer that one as it would have given it away.

He was pretty nice though to me over the years, he got me some really nice massive display posters from the heavy metal film being rescreened plus a bunch of limited art prints from various artists that I love including the guy did ranxerox. I'll see if I can post a photo of the cover where he first appeared but I'll have to dig up my digital camera to get a good high resolution still

I must've married a good one. my wife saw my playboy collection when we started dating and her only complaint was they weren't organized in a presentable way on the bookshelf. I feel like theres two types of women.

Goddamn the nostalgia!

I remember most of these when they were new. My high-school buddy was rich enough to have a subscription - I was fortunate enough to be at just the right age to enjoy the absolute best (and, yeah the worst - fuck you Reagan!) of the 80's movies, music and what came to be called 'graphic novels'.

I can't even explain how world-changing Watchmen and Arkham Asylum were. And Heavy Metal - goddamn these were great.

Thanks for the trip, OP.

The Internet has not yet been invented in their timeline. Ronald Reagan was re-elected President. For the third time. A mysterious object was detected in the Kuiper belt. All good things are analog. This is because they are immune to the Y2K computer virus – the cause of global derangement.

Quite literally. The lyrics goes:

>Z pianą na ustach śpiewałeś swą własną pieśń!
“You were so hard until last night, like a hardened steel. / With foam on your lips, you sang your own song!”

The nudity and violence of Heavy Metal exemplifies toxic masculinity and the male gaze. If what you are saying is true they’d still be making stuff like Heavy Metal today.
>>
>>4222899
Brief answer: what you are describing is not "liberalism" but a modern-day fascist travesty of liberalism. And, conversely, what you are describing as supposedly "conservative" morality of Heavy Metal would make the conservatives of yore turn in their graves. This is why I hate zoomers so much: they got everything wrong to the point of Orwellian inversion. They have trampled humanity's heritage.

Long answer: I may write it if the illiterate majority won't moan too much.

I haven't kept up to date with Heavy Metal, but want to get back into reading them.

Can you link some examples of the more modern stuff you are saying is shitty, at what point did it start to get shitty?

When should I start collecting from, the beggining of the series, only the 90s, should I avoid any specific issues or collect only some specific issues?
Thanks to anyone that has any suggestions.
>>
>>4224607
>at what point did it start to get shitty?
The fall of the Soviet Union (oddly).
The attack on WTC.
The launch of 4chan.
The founding of Pixar.
The invention of TikTok.

These are the bending points of history each after the culture tumbled progressively lower.

So not own scans? No problem, I just thought maybe a good camera phone with the right application. Then I would buy the same setup. The pictures look too good for a phone camera though, with zero noise and zero lens distortion.

Sorry anon, by "grab the images" I thought you meant bulk downloading. No idea what was used to capture the originals but I imagine it involved a damn nice scanner.
