>>4734111Makes sense!
Just watched Happiest Season.I would never ever have watched an obnoxious movie like this if it was not for her.It was so fucking weird. I have never actually watched a Hallmark movie but it was just so strange how they shoehorned in this serious topic into an otherwise saccharine christmas movie. But then again it's 2020 so maybe that's not a serious topic anymore? I kinda live under a rock so I got no clue. But just look wise Kristen looked so amazing and perfect and adorable and heartmelting in this movie. I was both cringing and going "oh my god she's so gorgeous" at the same time. I just can't imagine ever feeling attracted to anyone else. Maybe if I ever touch grass I will change my mind.
>>4734157maybe I am just a pleb and it is actually a kino suberversion/deconstruction of the Hallmark movie genre?either way it's 10/10 movie from a Kristen appreciation standpoint.
she is so cute it's unreal

>>4734201>>4734214I know how you feel. I just finished watching Café Society. I mean, like five minutes ago. And despite knowing it's just acting, I couldn't help myself but to feel a bit jealous, during certain scenes. Like a little knot, tied tight in my stomach you know? Also, it's funny but even if Blake Lively is objectively a beautiful woman, I could not care about her character. I just wanted to see more Kristen, you know?
>>4734163>>4734165She's adorable in that movie, and I was so mad at Mackenzie Davis' character for treating her like shit
>watches Snow White with my sister (20yo)>sisters looks at me and chuckles>"What?", I ask>"Maybe one day I'll find someone that looks at me the way you look at her", she respondsI admit this took me a bit by surprise. I guess I probably made some dumb face or something
>>4734291the jealousy knows no bounds
>>4734288i love kristen, but i hate woody allen. i might have to miss out on this one.
>>4734288>I couldn't help myself but to feel a bit jealous, during certain scenesThis is why I'm hoping and coping that she is actually a lesbian. I didn't feel any jealousy in Happiest Season.>Also, it's funny but even if Blake Lively is objectively a beautiful woman, I could not care about her character.Same. Like I can appreciate other women on an aesthetic level but emotionally they leave me cold.
>>4734306>I didn't feel any jealousy in Happiest Season.Funny enough, me neither
>>4734300>but i hate woody allenI can get that. Overall I enjoyed the movie because it talks a lot, fast and Kristen is just...waoh. But I didn't like the ending, to "open" for me. It felt like he didn't know how to finish it
>>4734288I think beyond that there is something triggering about eisenberg. Like I can watch twilight and get jealous when she's making out with pattinson but the bits in american ultra and cafe society that are like that with eisenberg almost elicit a disgust reaction from me because he's such a hideous twerp.
>>4734300I didn't like the movie because it felt too phoned in. But I think it's required watching just for how amazing she looks and how relevant the plot of not being able to get over her is. It's pretty short and not hard to sit through.>>4734337Yeah. He just always plays these obnoxious arrogant smartass nerds. I didn't mind the romance scenes in Equals because I like Nicholas Hoult for example.
>>4734339i want to live in the 20s with kristen.

I love those discussions here, there are not just coomer shit
>>4734157>how they shoehorned in this serious topic into an otherwise saccharine christmas moviewhy not? a character being afraid to come out to his parents, close ones is a common theme for lesbian movies or gay rom-coms. cause it's obviously a huge issue for fags in real life too.>>4734163>it is actually a kino suberversion/deconstruction of the Hallmark movie genrein a sense, yes. you can say the movie shows that in the same situations fag couples could be struggling way more than straight ones. like meeting your partner's parents is a common trope for straight comedies/rom-coms, but here the main characters are dykes so that adds to the situation brand new levels of troubles and serious drama, which simply don't exist in a heterosexual world. and it might be hard to put some comedic twist to all these troubles without offending too many people with laughing at such painful subjects. especially in our current extra sensitive environment.so yeah, Happiest season can be seen as too harsh for a standard rom-com, but i think it still works nevertheless.
>>4734361>cause it's obviously a huge issue for fags in real life too.Aren't they tired of seeing the same subject over, and over and over again? I mean, wouldn't it be more interester, even smarter to depict gay love as just that, love. Instead of making everything about "THE CLOSET"?I'd have wrote this romcom as a classic romcom>two characters from very different universes, like Kristen is an artist and acts pretty like herself and Mackenzie Davis is a lawyer or someone young yet very successful>they meet>fall in love>Davis' family is fully aware of their daughter's homosexuality, they don't care because they love their daughter, so Kristen could have the father without problem>some ex from Davis' past reappears, and she realises she not completely over it>love story is in danger, marriage is in danger>perhaps Davis' family intervene/support their daughter in her project with Kristen. Not mandatory>low point>ex is finally kicked away from Mackenzie's life>happy ending, no closet, no "muh father is a white american conservative"
>>4734370*interestingI have a slow brain tonight
>>4734370sounds dull
>>4734386It's a romcom scenario, what did you expect?
This is your boss for the day
>>4734387you can write any genre of story and it can be interesting. All stories are derivitive of essentially the same handful of narratives, different amounts of them based on who you ask. What makes a piece of art unique is the specifics of technique and presentation: character, theming, imagery, direction vs execution. You're complaining about tired tropes being shoehorned in but the narrative you've offered as better is the same plot as so many heterosexual romance stories: only with no detail to actually sell it. You've just done a 14 year old media student's first week of homework for the year. It's great, producers would love it. learn to format a script, you might get paid a ridiculously low fee to get it adapted into one episode of a soap
>>4734391Dude, I don't give a shit. Don't take it so seriously...And the base movie is as much of a cliché as what I wrote in 30 seconds
>>4734339>He just always plays these obnoxious arrogant smartass nerdsi, for one, don't mind Eisenberg, and quite like him as an actor. and i think i get why him and Kristen get along so well and have great chemistry both on and off screen - they actually have some similarities:both are either loved or straight up hated by a common crowd.both are often seen as "playing themselves" or "playing the same guy/gal". which is unfair to both, since they have quite a range in their roles and in movies they are starring in. just like both of them definitely have an ability a talent to bring onscreen not just themselves but a character they are playing.both had big popular blockbuster, which was at the same time not very successful at box-ofice and panned by critics. and more to that, these were one of their worse performances ever due to total miscast. and unfortunately to lots of people Kristen and Jesse are know precisely by these roles. these are batman v superman and snow white, obviously.so if anyone wonders why people hate on Kristen so much, just look at how we are hating on Eisenberg here, for no particularly valid reason at all. honestly a shame, him and Kristen are devoted actors and deserve much more.
I want to make Kristen cry of pleasure as I make her climax over and over by eating her pussy. If you catch my tokyo drift...

I've tried it a few times and looked at the criteria, I know it needs to be the right size and format, but every time I try I always end up getting stopped bc you cant have something with audio. Even if i completely remove the audio file before exporting it still does this :(
>>4734370>Aren't they tired of seeing the same subject over, and over and over again?idk, they're definitely tired of the closet being issue irl lol. but since that problem ain't going anywhere right now - it's still on topic i guess.besides fag rom-coms ain't being around that long, are they? especially with such a cast. and i think Happiest season is one of the first or maybe even the first lesbian rom-com backed up by a major studio - Sony pictures. so they still have a long way on going.>wouldn't it be more interester, even smarter to depict gay love as just that, lovethe problem is that most of people are still homophobic. even in the West where an agenda of tolerance is being pushed hard, subconsciously a lot of people won't perceive fag love as something normal, usual, equal to straight love. so even if they see such a "classic gay rom-com" they'll dismiss it at once, won't take it seriously. while in the rom-com like HS, these people might somehow start sympathizing to fags in their struggles, since they actually have someone to associate themselves with in it - these "white american conservative parents", for example.i'm sure there are some gay rom-com just like you described - but that's a niche product - made by fags for other fags. and with HS i think they wanted to try to reach out to a wider audience. alas, covid fucked up everything, but even on Hulu the movie was a huge hit, one of their biggest ever.

>>4734457I tried, and voila!
gentlemen, im going to try and not come here anymore. it hasn't been good for me mentally. i wish you all good luck, and happy lives.
>>4734315>But I didn't like the ending, to "open" for me. It felt like he didn't know how to finish itit's not open at all tho. both characters realizing that they are not over it, and still longing for each other. but they're already too far from each other and each have an established life and stability, which they won't dare to risk to ruin for an ephemeral chance for real happiness. and that's the real tragedy of the movie - how unrequired love can be destructive for both ends.

As far as I am concerned, she'll always be welcome here and I think it would be a honor if, one day, she earns the nationality. There is no doubt she is deeply American, but still. And it's so cute when she tries to speak French. Her accent is really charming
>>4736625>And it's so cute when she tries to speak French.any examples?

>>4736627her nervousness and mannersims are so frickin adorable
>>4736636I like this short speech of Olivier Assays about Kristen.https://youtu.be/wSuVPetsnI0?si=h1tG8PbLaBvxsZUF&t=294And her interview here, especially that moment, is a good "echo" to the video above, that both shows and confirms why she is appreciated herehttps://youtu.be/wXy1vxvLoSQ?si=BRz7frtFqxXTbds3&t=200

Where my discord bros at?
>>4736639aaaaahI'm feeling so conflicted.Seeing her in motion in her interviews I fall in love with her cute mannerisms, passion and honesty. But at the same time I am also learning how different she is from me and I get this sinking feeling that this bittersweet infatuation might stop as I won't even be able to daydream about her. Despite the *chair clattering* there is something magical about this unique in human history virtual "falling in love simulation" experience that digital images, computers and the internet create. But it's probably for the better if it turns into a more healthy admiration.
>>4736646>But it's probably for the better if it turns into a more healthy admiration.admiration is key. i know i'll never meet kristen, and even if i do, i'll never be with her. that's fine. she's a human being on her own journey. i respect her beauty and her talent, but the fact that i won't be a part of it is fine.
